27Then a manאִישׁ־'ish-H376of Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430cameוַיָּבֹ֥אvai.ya.Vo'H935toאֶל־'el-H413Eliעֵלִ֑י'e.LiH5941and toldוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559himאֵלָ֗יו'e.LavH413, “This is whatכֹּ֚הkohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: ‘Did I not clearly reveal MyselfH1540toאֶל־'el-H413your father’sאָבִ֔יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004when they wereבִּֽהְיוֹתָ֥םbih.yo.TamH1961in Egyptבְּמִצְרַ֖יִםbe.mitz.Ra.yimH4714under Pharaoh’sפַּרְעֹֽה׃par.'OhH6547houseלְבֵ֥יתle.VeitH1004?

28And out of allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605the tribesשִׁבְטֵ֨יshiv.TeiH7626of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֥לYis.ra.'ElH3478I selectedוּבָחֹ֣רu.va.ChorH977your fatherאֹ֠תוֹ'o.toH853to be Mypriestלְכֹהֵ֔ןle.kho.HenH3548,to offer sacrificesלַעֲל֣וֹתla.'a.LotH5927onעַֽל־'al-H5921My altarמִזְבְּחִ֗יmiz.be.ChiH4196,to burnלְהַקְטִ֥ירle.hak.TirH6999incenseקְטֹ֛רֶתke.To.retH7004,and to wearלָשֵׂ֥אתla.SetH5375an ephodאֵפ֖וֹד'e.FodH646in My presenceלְפָנָ֑יle.fa.NaiH6440.I also gaveוָֽאֶתְּנָה֙va.'e.te.NahH5414to the houseלְבֵ֣יתle.VeitH1004of your fatherאָבִ֔יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1אֶת־'et-H853allכָּל־kol-H3605the food offeringsאִשֵּׁ֖י'i.SheiH801of the Israelitesבְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃be.Nei Yis.ra.'ElH1121 H3478.

29Why thenלָ֣מָּהLa.mahH4100do you kick atתִבְעֲט֗וּtiv.'a.TuH1163My sacrificeבְּזִבְחִי֙be.ziv.ChiH2077and offeringוּבְמִנְחָתִ֔יu.ve.min.cha.TiH4503thatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I have prescribedצִוִּ֖יתִיtzi.Vi.tiH6680for My dwelling placeמָע֑וֹןma.'onH4583?You have honoredוַתְּכַבֵּ֤דva.te.kha.BedH3513אֶת־'et-H853your sonsבָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ba.Nei.khaH1121more than Meמִמֶּ֔נִּיmi.Me.niH4480by fattening yourselvesלְהַבְרִֽיאֲכֶ֗םle.hav.ri.'a.KhemH1254with the bestמֵרֵאשִׁ֛יתme.re.ShitH7225of allכָּל־kol-H3605the offeringsמִנְחַ֥תmin.ChatH4503of My peopleלְעַמִּֽי׃le.'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478.’

30Thereforeלָכֵ֗ןla.KhenH3651,the LORDיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֒Yis.ra.'ElH3478,declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002: ‘I did indeedאָמ֣וֹר'a.MorH559sayאָמַ֔רְתִּי'a.Mar.tiH559that your houseבֵּֽיתְךָ֙bei.te.KhaH1004and the houseוּבֵ֣יתu.VeitH1004of your fatherאָבִ֔יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1would walkיִתְהַלְּכ֥וּyit.ha.le.KhuH1980before Meלְפָנַ֖יle.fa.NaiH6440foreverעַד־ עוֹלָ֑ם'ad- o.LamH5704 H5769.But nowוְעַתָּ֤הve.'a.TahH6258the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068declaresנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002:Far be itחָלִ֣ילָהcha.Li.lahH2486from Me!Forכִּֽי־ki-H3588I will honorמְכַבְּדַ֥יme.kha.be.DaiH3513those who honor Meאֲכַבֵּ֖ד'a.kha.BedH3513,but those who despise Meוּבֹזַ֥יu.vo.ZaiH959will be disdainedיֵקָֽלּוּ׃ye.Ka.luH7043.

31Beholdהִנֵּה֙hi.NehH2009,the daysיָמִ֣יםya.MimH3117are comingבָּאִ֔יםba.'ImH935when I will cut offוְגָֽדַעְתִּי֙ve.ga.da'.TiH1438אֶת־'et-H853your strengthזְרֹ֣עֲךָ֔ze.Ro.'a.khaH2220וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and the strengthזְרֹ֖עַze.Ro.a'H2220of your father’sאָבִ֑יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004,so that no one in itבְּבֵיתֶֽךָ׃be.vei.Te.khaH1004will reachמִֽהְי֥וֹתmih.YotH1961old ageזָקֵ֖ןza.KenH2205.

32You will seeוְהִבַּטְתָּ֙ve.hib.ba.TaH5027distressצַ֣רtzarH6862in Mydwelling placeמָע֔וֹןma.'onH4583.Despite allבְּכֹ֥לbe.KholH3605thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834is goodיֵיטִ֖יבyei.TivH3190אֶת־'et-H853in Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,no oneוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808in your houseבְּבֵיתְךָ֖be.vei.te.KhaH1004will ever againכָּל־ הַיָּמִֽים׃kol- hai.ya.MimH3605 H3117reachיִהְיֶ֥הyih.YehH1961old ageזָקֵ֛ןza.KenH2205.

33And every oneוְאִ֗ישׁve.'IshH376of youthat I do notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808cut offאַכְרִ֤ית'akh.RitH3772fromמֵעִ֣םme.'ImH5973My altarמִזְבְּחִ֔יmiz.be.ChiH4196,I will cause your eyesעֵינֶ֖יךָ'ei.Nei.khaH5869to failלְכַלּ֥וֹתle.kha.LotH3615אֶת־'et-H853אֶת־'et-H853and your heartנַפְשֶׁ֑ךָnaf.She.khaH5315to grieveוְלַאֲדִ֣יבve.la.'a.DivH109.Allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605your descendantsמַרְבִּ֥ית בֵּיתְךָ֖mar.Bit bei.te.KhaH4768 H1004will dieיָמ֥וּתוּya.Mu.tuH4191by the swordof menאֲנָשִֽׁים׃'a.na.ShimH582.

34And thisוְזֶה־ve.zeh-H2088signהָא֗וֹתha.'otH226אֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834shall comeיָבֹא֙ya.Vo'H935to youconcerningאֶל־'el-H413your twoשְׁנֵ֣יshe.NeiH8147sonsבָנֶ֔יךָ אֶל־va.Nei.kha 'el-H1121 H413Hophniחָפְנִ֖יcha.fe.NiH2652and Phinehasוּפִֽינְחָ֑סu.fin.ChasH6372:They will bothשְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃she.nei.HemH8147dieיָמ֥וּתוּya.Mu.tuH4191on the sameאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259dayבְּי֥וֹםbe.YomH3117.

35Then I will raise upוַהֲקִימֹתִ֥יva.ha.ki.mo.TiH6965for Myselfa faithfulנֶאֱמָ֔ןne.'e.ManH539priestכֹּהֵ֣ןko.HenH3548.He will doיַעֲשֶׂ֑הya.'a.SehH6213whateverכַּאֲשֶׁ֛רka.'a.SherH834is in My heartבִּלְבָבִ֥יbil.va.ViH3824and mindוּבְנַפְשִׁ֖יu.ve.naf.ShiH5315.And I will buildוּבָנִ֤יתִיu.va.Ni.tiH1129for himan enduringנֶאֱמָ֔ןne.'e.ManH539houseבַּ֣יִתBa.yitH1004,and he will walkוְהִתְהַלֵּ֥ךְve.ht.ha.LekhH1980beforeלִפְנֵֽי־lif.nei-H6440My anointed oneמְשִׁיחִ֖יme.shi.ChiH4899for all timeכָּל־ הַיָּמִֽים׃kol- hai.ya.MimH3605 H3117.

36Andוְהָיָ֗הve.ha.YahH1961everyoneכָּל־kol-H3605leftהַנּוֹתָר֙ha.no.TarH3498in your houseבְּבֵ֣יתְךָ֔be.Vei.te.khaH1004will comeיָבוֹא֙ya.Vo'H935and bow downלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹ֣תle.hish.ta.cha.VotH7812to himfor a pieceלַאֲג֥וֹרַתla.'a.Go.ratH95of silverכֶּ֖סֶףKe.sefH3701or a morselוְכִכַּר־ve.khi.kar-H3603of breadלָ֑חֶםLa.chemH3899,pleadingוְאָמַ֗רve.'a.MarH559, “Pleaseנָ֛אna'H4994appoint meסְפָחֵ֥נִיse.fa.Che.niH5596toאֶל־'el-H413someאַחַ֥ת'a.ChatH259priestly officeהַכְּהֻנּ֖וֹתha.ke.hu.NotH3550so that I can eatלֶאֱכֹ֥לle.'e.KholH398a pieceפַּת־pat-H6595of breadלָֽחֶם׃ סLa.chemH3899.”’”
