Judges 8:24-33
24And GideonH1439 saidH559 unto them, I would makeH5414 a request of you, that ye would giveH5414 me every manH376 the ear-rings of his spoilH7998. (For they had golden ear-rings, because they were IshmaelitesH3459.) 25And they answered, We will willingly giveH5414 them. And they spreadH6566 a garmentH8071, and did castH7993 therein every manH376 the ear-rings of his spoilH7998. 26And the weightH4948 of the golden ear-rings that he requested wasH1961 a thousandH505 and sevenH7651 hundredH3967 shekels of goldH2091; besides the crescents, and the pendantsH5188, and the purpleH713 raiment that wasH1961 on the kingsH4428 of MidianH4080, and besides the chains that were about their camels’H1581 necksH6677. 27And GideonH1439 madeH6213 an ephodH646 thereof, and put it in his cityH5892, even in OphrahH6084: and all IsraelH3478 playedH2181 the harlot after it there; and it becameH1961 a snareH4170 unto GideonH1439, and to his houseH1004. 28So MidianH4080 was subduedH3665 before the children of IsraelH3478, and they liftedH5375 up their headsH7218 no more. And the landH776 had rest fortyH705 yearsH8141 in the daysH3117 of GideonH1439.
29And JerubbaalH3378 the sonH1121 of JoashH3101 went and dweltH3427 in his own houseH1004. 30And GideonH1439 had threescore and ten sonsH1121 of his body begotten; for he had manyH7227 wivesH802. 31And his concubineH6370 that was in ShechemH7927, she alsoH1571 bare him a sonH1121, and he called his nameH8034 AbimelechH40. 32And GideonH1439 the sonH1121 of JoashH3101 diedH4191 in a goodH2896 old age, and was buriedH6912 in the sepulchre of JoashH3101 his fatherH1, in OphrahH6084 of the Abiezrites.
33And it came to pass, as soon as GideonH1439 wasH1961 deadH4191, that the children of IsraelH3478 turnedH7725 again, and playedH2181 the harlot after the Baalim, and madeH7760 Baal-berithH1170 their godH430.
