4And when thetimeהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117was thatElkanahאֶלְקָנָ֑ה'el.ka.NahH511offeredוַיִּזְבַּ֖חvai.yiz.BachH2076, hegaveוְנָתַ֞ןve.na.TanH5414toPeninnahלִפְנִנָּ֣הlif.ni.NahH6444hiswifeאִשְׁתּ֗וֹ'ish.ToH802, and to all hersonsבָּנֶ֛יהָba.Nei.haH1121and herdaughtersוּבְנוֹתֶ֖יהָu.ve.no.Tei.haH1323,portionsמָנֽוֹת׃ma.NotH4490:

5But toHannahוּלְחַנָּ֕הu.le.cha.NahH2584hegaveיִתֵּ֛ןyi.TenH5414aאַחַ֖ת'a.ChatH259worthyאַפָּ֑יִם'a.Pa.yimH639portionמָנָ֥הma.NahH4490; for helovedאָהֵ֔ב'a.HevH157Hannahחַנָּה֙cha.NahH2584: but theLORDוַֽיהוָ֖הva.Yah.wehH3068had closedupסָגַ֥רsa.GarH5462herwombרַחְמָֽהּ׃rach.MahH7358.

6And heradversaryצָֽרָתָהּ֙tza.ra.TahH6869alsoprovokedוְכִֽעֲסַ֤תָּהve.khi.'a.Sa.tahH3707hergreatlyכַּ֔עַסKa.'asH3708, to make herfretהַרְּעִמָ֑הּha.re.'i.MahH7481, because theLORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068hadclosedסָגַ֥רsa.GarH5462upבְּעַ֥דbe.'AdH1157herwombרַחְמָֽהּ׃rach.MahH7358.

7And as hedidיַעֲשֶׂ֜הya.'a.SehH6213soyearשָׁנָ֣הsha.NahH8141byyearבְשָׁנָ֗הve.sha.NahH8141,whenמִדֵּ֤יmi.DeiH1767she wentupעֲלֹתָהּ֙'a.lo.TahH5927to thehouseבְּבֵ֣יתbe.VeitH1004of theLORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, so sheprovokedתַּכְעִסֶ֑נָּהtakh.'i.Se.nahH3707her; therefore sheweptוַתִּבְכֶּ֖הva.tiv.KehH1058, and did noteatתֹאכַֽל׃to.KhalH398.
