34AndAbimelechאֲבִימֶ֛לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40roseH6965upH6965, andallוְכָל־ve.kholH3605thepeopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971that were with him, bynightלָ֑יְלָהLa.ye.lahH3915, and they laidwaitוַיֶּאֶרְב֣וּvai.ye.'er.VuH693againstעַל־'al-H5921Shechemשְׁכֶ֔םshe.KhemH7927infourאַרְבָּעָ֖ה'ar.ba.'AhH702companiesרָאשִֽׁים׃ra.ShimH7218.

35AndGaalגַּ֣עַלGa.'alH1603thesonבֶּן־ben-H1121ofEbedעֶ֔בֶד'E.vedH5651wentH3318outH3318, andstoodוַיַּעֲמֹ֕דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975in theenteringמִן־min-H4480of thegateשַׁ֣עַרSha.'arH8179of thecityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892: andAbimelechאֲבִימֶ֛לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40roseH6965upH6965, and thepeopleוְהָעָ֥םve.ha.'AmH5971that were with him, from the ambushment.

36And whenGaalגַּעַל֮ga.'AlH1603sawH7200thepeopleהָעָם֒ha.'AmH5971, hesaidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toZebulזְבֻ֔לze.VulH2083,BeholdH2009, therecomeH3381peopleעָ֣ם'amH5971downיוֹרֵ֔דyo.RedH3381from thetopsמֵרָאשֵׁ֖יme.ra.SheiH7218of themountainsהֶהָרִ֑יםhe.ha.RimH2022. 37AndGaalגַּעַל֮ga.'AlH1603spakeagainע֣וֹדodH5750andsaidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Seeהִנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009, therecomeבָּ֔אBa'H935peopleעָם֙'amH5971downיֽוֹרְדִ֔יםyor.DimH3381by the middle of thelandהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776, and onecompanyוְרֹאשׁ־ve.rosh-H7218cometh by thewayמִדֶּ֖רֶךְmi.De.rekhH1870of theoakאֵל֥וֹן'e.LonH436of Meonenim.

38ThensaidH559Zebulזְבֻ֗לze.VulH2083unto him,WhereH834isnowעַתָּ֖ה'a.TahH6258thymouthפִ֙יךָ֙fi.khaH6310, that thou saidst, Who isAbimelechאֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40, thatweכִּ֣יkiH3588shouldserveנַעַבְדֶ֑נּוּna.'av.De.nuH5647him? isnotהֲלֹ֨אha.Lo'H3808this thepeopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971that thou hast despised?goצֵא־tze'-H3318outH3318nowH6258, Iprayנָ֥אna'H4994, andfightוְהִלָּ֥חֶםve.hi.La.chemH3898with them.

40AndAbimelechאֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40chasedוַיִּרְדְּפֵ֣הוּvai.yir.de.Fe.huH7291him, and hefledוַיָּ֖נָסvai.Ya.nosH5127beforeמִפָּנָ֑יוmi.pa.NavH6440him, and therefellוַֽיִּפְּל֛וּvai.yi.pe.LuH5307manyרַבִּ֖יםra.BimH7227woundedחֲלָלִ֥יםcha.la.LimH2491,evenעַד־'ad-H5704unto the entering of thegateהַשָּֽׁעַר׃ha.Sha.'arH8179.

43And hetookוַיִּקַּ֣חvai.yi.KachH3947thepeopleהָעָ֗םha.'AmH5971, anddividedוַֽיֶּחֱצֵם֙vai.ye.che.TzemH2673themintoH5921threeלִשְׁלֹשָׁ֣הlish.lo.ShahH7969companiesרָאשִׁ֔יםra.ShimH7218, andlaidH3318waitוַיֶּאֱרֹ֖בvai.ye.'e.RoH693in thefieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֑הba.sa.DehH7704; and helookedוַיַּ֗רְאvai.Yar'H7200, and,beholdוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009, thepeopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971cameH3318forthH3318outH3318of thecityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892; and heroseH6965upH6965againstH5921them, andsmoteוַיַּכֵּֽם׃vai.ya.KemH5221them.

44AndAbimelechוַאֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְva.'a.vi.Me.lekhH40, and thecompaniesוְהָרָאשִׁים֙ve.ha.ra.ShimH7218that were with him,rushedפָּשְׁט֕וּpa.she.TuH6584forward, andstoodוַיַּ֣עַמְד֔וּvai.Ya.'am.DuH5975in the entering of thegateשַׁ֣עַרSha.'arH8179of thecityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892: and thetwoוּשְׁנֵ֣יu.she.NeiH8147companiesהָֽרָאשִׁ֗יםha.ra.ShimH7218rushedפָּֽשְׁט֛וּpa.she.TuH6584uponעַֽל־'al-H5921allכָּל־kol-H3605that were in thefieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֖הba.sa.DehH7704, andsmoteוַיַּכּֽוּם׃vai.ya.KumH5221them.

45AndAbimelechוַאֲבִימֶ֜לֶךְva.'a.vi.Me.lekhH40foughtנִלְחָ֣םnil.ChamH3898againstH3898thecityבָּעִ֗ירba.'IrH5892allכֹּ֚לkolH3605thatdayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117; and hetookוַיִּלְכֹּד֙vai.yil.KodH3920thecityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892, andslewהָרָ֑גha.RagH2026thepeopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971that was therein: and he beatdownוַיִּתֹּץ֙vai.yi.TotzH5422thecityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892, andsowedוַיִּזְרָעֶ֖הָvai.yiz.ra.'E.haH2232it withsaltמֶֽלַח׃ פMe.lachH4417.

46And whenallכָּֽל־kal-H3605themenבַּעֲלֵ֖יba.'a.LeiH1167of thetowerמִֽגְדַּל־mig.dal-H4026ofShechemשְׁכֶ֑םshe.KhemH7927heardוַֽיִּשְׁמְע֔וּvai.yish.me.'UH8085thereof, theyenteredוַיָּבֹ֣אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935intoאֶל־'el-H413theholdH1004of thehouseבֵּ֖יתbeitH1004of El-berith.

47And it wastoldוַיֻּגַּ֖דvai.yu.GadH5046Abimelechלַאֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְla.'a.vi.Me.lekhH40thatallכָּֽל־kal-H3605themenבַּעֲלֵ֖יba.'a.LeiH1167of thetowerמִֽגְדַּל־mig.dal-H4026ofShechemשְׁכֶֽם׃she.KhemH7927weregatheredH6908togetherהִֽתְקַבְּצ֔וּhit.ka.be.TzuH6908.

48AndAbimelechאֲבִימֶ֜לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40gat himupH5927tomountהַר־har-H2022Zalmonצַלְמ֗וֹןtzal.MonH6756, he andallוְכָל־ve.kholH3605thepeopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971that were with him; andAbimelechאֲבִימֶ֨לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40tookH3947anaxeהַקַּרְדֻּמּ֜וֹתha.kar.du.MotH7134in hishandבְּיָד֗וֹbe.ya.DoH3027, andcutוַיִּכְרֹת֙vai.yikh.RotH3772downH3772a bough from thetreesעֵצִ֔ים'e.TzimH6086, andtookH3947itupH5927, andlaidH7760it on hisshoulderשִׁכְמ֑וֹshikh.MoH7926: and hesaidוַיֹּ֜אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto thepeopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971that were with him,Whatמָ֤הmahH4100ye haveseenרְאִיתֶם֙re.'i.TemH7200meאֶל־'el-H413doH6213,makeH7760hasteמַהֲר֖וּma.ha.RuH4116, anddoH6213as I havedoneH6213.

51But there was astrongעֹז֮'ozH5797towerוּמִגְדַּל־u.mig.dal-H4026withinבְתוֹךְ־ve.tokh-H8432thecityהָעִיר֒ha.'IrH5892, and thitherfledוַיָּנֻ֨סוּvai.ya.Nu.suH5127allכָּל־kol-H3605themenH376andwomenוְהַנָּשִׁ֗יםve.ha.na.ShimH802, andallוְכֹל֙ve.KholH3605they of thecityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892, andshutוַֽיִּסְגְּר֖וּvai.yis.ge.RuH5462themselvesעַל־'al-H5921in, and gat themupוַֽיַּעֲל֖וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927to theroofגַּ֥גgagH1406of thetowerהַמִּגְדָּֽל׃ha.mig.DalH4026.
