23For he sacrificedוַיִּזְבַּ֗חvai.yiz.BachH2076unto the godsלֵֽאלֹהֵ֣יle.lo.HeiH430of Damascusדַרְמֶשֶׂק֮dar.me.SekH1834,which smoteהַמַּכִּ֣יםha.ma.KimH5221him: and he saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Because the godsאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of the kingsמַלְכֵֽי־mal.khei-H4428of Syriaאֲרָם֙'a.RamH758helpמַעְזְרִ֣יםma'.ze.RimH5826them, thereforewill I sacrificeאֲזַבֵּ֖חַ'a.za.Be.achH2076to them, that they may helpוְיַעְזְר֑וּנִיve.ya'.ze.Ru.niH5826me. But they were the ruinלְהַכְשִׁיל֖וֹle.hakh.shi.LoH3782of him, and of all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.
