17Now afterוְאַֽחֲרֵ֥יve.'a.cha.ReiH310the deathמוֹת֙mOtH4194of Jehoiadaיְה֣וֹיָדָ֔עye.Ho.ya.Da'H3077cameבָּ֚אוּBa.'uH935the princesשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,and made obeisanceוַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּvai.yish.ta.cha.VuH7812to the kingלַמֶּ֑לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428.Then the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428hearkenedשָׁמַ֥עsha.Ma'H8085unto them.

18And they leftוַיַּֽעַזְב֗וּvai.ya.'az.VuH5800the houseבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of Yhwhיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of their fathersאֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֔ם'a.vo.tei.HemH1,and servedוַיַּֽעַבְד֥וּvai.ya.'av.DuH5647grovesהָאֲשֵׁרִ֖יםha.'a.she.RimH842and idolsהָֽעֲצַבִּ֑יםha.'a.tza.BimH6091:and wrathקֶ֗צֶףKe.tzefH7110came upon Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063and Jerusalemוִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םvi.Ru.sha.LimH3389for this their trespassבְּאַשְׁמָתָ֖םbe.'ash.ma.TamH819.

19Yet he sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971prophetsנְבִאִ֔יםne.vi.'ImH5030to them, to bring them againלַהֲשִׁיבָ֖םla.ha.shi.VamH7725unto Yhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068;and they testifiedוַיָּעִ֥ידוּvai.ya.'I.duH5749against them: but they would not give earהֶאֱזִֽינוּ׃ סhe.'e.Zi.nuH238.

21And they conspiredוַיִּקְשְׁר֣וּvai.yik.she.RuH7194against him, and stonedוַיִּרְגְּמֻ֥הוּvai.yir.ge.Mu.huH7275him with stonesאֶ֖בֶן'E.venH68at the commandmentבְּמִצְוַ֣תbe.mitz.VatH4687of the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428in the courtבַּחֲצַ֖רba.cha.TzarH2691of the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Yhwhיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.
