1“1IfH3588 there is a disputeH7379 betweenH996 peopleH376 and they goH5066 to 2courtH4941, and 3the judgesH8199 decideH8199 their case, 4and they declareH6663 the righteousH6662 innocentH6663 and pronounceH7561 the wickedH7563 guiltyH7561, 2then it shall be ifH518 the wickedH7563 personH7563 56deservesH1121 to be beatenH5221, the judgeH8199 shall then make him lieH5307 downH5307 and have him beatenH5221 in his presenceH6440 with the numberH4557 of lashes accordingH1767 to his 7wrongfulH7564 actH7564. 38He may have him beatenH5221 fortyH705 timesH705, but not moreH3254, soH6435 thatH6435 he does notH6435 have him beatenH5221 with manyH7227 moreH3254 lashesH4347 thanH5921 theseH428, and that your brotherH251 does not 9becomeH7034 contemptibleH7034 in your eyesH5869.
4“10You shall not muzzleH2629 the oxH7794 while it is threshingH1758.
5“WhenH3588 brothersH251 liveH3427 togetherH3164, and oneH259 of them diesH4191 and hasH369 noH369 sonH1121, the wifeH802 of the deceasedH4191 shall not be married outsideH2351 the family to a strangeH2114 manH376. 11Her husband’sH2993 brotherH2993 shall haveH935 relationsH935 withH935 her and takeH3947 her to himself as his wifeH802, and performH2992 the dutyH2992 ofH2992 aH2992 husband’sH2992 brotherH2992 to her. 6It shall then be that the firstbornH1060 to whomH834 she givesH3205 birthH3205 shall 12assumeH6965 the nameH8034 of his father’s deceasedH4191 brotherH251, so that 13his nameH8034 will not be wipedH4229 outH4229 from IsraelH3478. 714But ifH518 the manH376 does not desireH2654 to takeH3947 his brother’sH2994 widowH2994, then his brother’sH2994 widowH2994 shall goH5927 upH5927 to the gateH8179 to the eldersH2205, and sayH559, ‘My husband’sH2993 brotherH2993 refusesH3985 to establishH6965 a nameH8034 for his brotherH251 in IsraelH3478; he isH14 not willingH14 to performH2992 the dutyH2992 ofH2992 aH2992 husband’sH2992 brotherH2992 to me.’ 8Then the eldersH2205 of his cityH5892 shall summonH7121 him and speakH1696 to him. And if he persistsH5975 and saysH559, ‘I do not desireH2654 to takeH3947 her,’ 915then his brother’sH251 widowH2994 shall comeH5066 upH5066 to him in the sightH5869 of the eldersH2205, and pullH2502 his sandalH5275 offH4480H5921 his footH7272 and 16spitH3417 in his faceH6440; and she shall 17declareH6030H559, ‘ThisH3602 isH3602 whatH3602 is doneH6213 to the manH376 whoH834 does not buildH1129 upH1129 his brother’sH251 houseH1004!’ 10And in IsraelH3478 18his family shall be calledH7121 by the nameH8034, ‘The houseH1004 of him whose sandalH5275 was removedH2502.’
11“IfH3588 two menH376, a manH376 and his countrymanH251, haveH5327 aH5327 fightH5327 19withH3164 eachH3164 otherH3164, and the wifeH802 of oneH259 comesH7126 upH7126 to saveH5337 her husbandH376 from the handH3027 of the one who is hittingH5221 him, and she reachesH7971 outH7971 with her handH3027 and graspsH2388 20that man’s genitalsH4016, 12then you shall cutH7112 offH7112 her 21handH3709; 2223you shall not showH2347 pityH2347.
13“24You shall not haveH1961 in your bagH3599 25differingH68 weightsH68, a largeH1419 and a smallH6996. 14You shall not haveH1961 in your houseH1004 26differingH374 measuresH374, a largeH1419 and a smallH6996. 15You shall haveH1961 a correctH8003 and honestH6664 27weightH68; you shall haveH1961 a correctH8003 and honestH6664 28measureH374, 29soH4616 thatH4616 your daysH3117 may be prolongedH748 30in the landH127 whichH834 the LordH3068 your GodH430 is givingH5414 you. 16For 31everyoneH3605 whoH834 doesH6213 theseH428 thingsH428, everyoneH3605 who actsH6213 unjustlyH5766 is an abominationH8441 to the LordH3068 your GodH430.
17“32RememberH2142 whatH834 AmalekH6002 didH6213 to you on the wayH1870 when you cameH3318 outH3318 of EgyptH4714, 18howH834 he confrontedH7136 you on the wayH1870 and attackedH2179 among you allH3605 the stragglersH2826 at your rearH310 when you were tiredH5889 and wearyH3023; and he 33did not 34fearH3372 GodH430. 19So it shall comeH1961 aboutH1961, when the LordH3068 your GodH430 has givenH5117 you 35restH5117 from allH3605 your surroundingH5439 enemiesH340 in the landH776 whichH834 the LordH3068 your GodH430 is givingH5414 you as an inheritanceH5159 to 36possessH3423, that you shall wipeH4229 outH4229 the mentionH2143 of the name AmalekH6002 from underH8478 heavenH8064; you must not forgetH7911.
