2 Chronicles 26:5-18

51He continuedH1961 to seekH1245 GodH430 in the daysH3117 of ZechariahH2148, 2who had understandingH995 3through the visionH7200 of GodH430; and 45as longH3117 as he soughtH1875 the LordH3068, GodH430 madeH6743 him successfulH6743.

6Now he wentH3318 outH3318 and 6foughtH3898 against the PhilistinesH6430, and brokeH6555 downH6555 the wallH2346 of GathH1661, the wallH2346 of JabnehH2996, and the wallH2346 of AshdodH795; and he builtH1129 citiesH5892 in the area of AshdodH795 and among the PhilistinesH6430. 77GodH430 helpedH5826 him againstH5921 the PhilistinesH6430, and againstH5921 the ArabiansH6163 who livedH3427 in Gur-baalH1485, and the MeunitesH4586. 8The AmmonitesH5984 gaveH5414 8tributeH4503 to UzziahH5818, and his 9fameH8034 extendedH1980 to the borderH935 of EgyptH4714, for he becameH2388 veryH4605 strongH2388. 9Moreover, UzziahH5818 builtH1129 towersH4026 in JerusalemH3389 at 10the CornerH6438 GateH8179, the 11ValleyH1516 GateH8179, and at the cornerH4740 buttressH4740, and he fortifiedH2388 them. 10He also builtH1129 towersH4026 in the wildernessH4057 and 12carvedH2672 outH2672 manyH7227 cisternsH953, for he hadH1961 muchH7227 livestockH4735, both in the 13lowlandH8219 and in the plainH4334. He also had plowmenH406 and vinedressersH3755 in the hillH2022 countryH2022 and the fertileH3759 fieldsH3759, for he lovedH157 the soilH127. 11Moreover, UzziahH5818 hadH1961 an armyH2428 readyH6213 forH6213 battleH4421, which 14enteredH3318 combatH6635 by divisionsH1416 according to the numberH4557 of their musterH6486, 15recordedH3027 by JeielH3262 the scribeH5613 and MaaseiahH4641 the officialH7860, underH5921 the directionH3027 of HananiahH2608, one of the king’sH4428 officersH8269. 12The totalH3605 numberH4557 of the headsH7218 of the 16householdsH1, of valiantH2428 warriorsH1368, was 2,600H505H8337H3967. 13UnderH5921 their directionH3027 was an armyH2428H6635 of 17307,500H7969H3967H505H7651H2568, who could wageH6213 warH4421 with greatH2428 powerH3581, to helpH5826 the kingH4428 againstH5921 the enemyH340. 14Moreover, UzziahH5818 preparedH3559 18for allH3605 the armyH6635 shieldsH4043, spearsH7420, helmetsH3553, bodyH8302 armorH8302, bowsH7198, and slingstonesH7050H68. 15In JerusalemH3389 he madeH6213 machinesH2810 of war inventedH4284 by skillfulH2803 workmenH2803 to be on the towersH4026 and the cornersH6438, for the purpose of shootingH3372 arrowsH2671 and greatH1419 stonesH68. So his 19fameH8034 spreadH3318 farH5704H7350, for he wasH6381 marvelouslyH6381 helpedH5826 untilH5704H3588 he was strongH2388.

16But 20when he becameH2393 strongH2393, his heartH3820 wasH1361 so 21proudH1361 that he actedH7843 corruptlyH7843, and he wasH4603 untrueH4603 to the LordH3068 his GodH430, for 22he enteredH935 the templeH1964 of the LordH3068 to burnH6999 incenseH6999 on the altarH4196 of incenseH7004. 17Then 23AzariahH5838 the priestH3548 enteredH935 afterH310 him, and with him eightyH8084 priestsH3548 of the LordH3068, valiantH2428 menH1121. 1824They opposedH5975H5921 UzziahH5818 the kingH4428 and saidH559 to him, “25It is not for you, UzziahH5818, to burnH6999 incenseH6999 to the LordH3068, 26but for the priestsH3548, the sonsH1121 of AaronH175 who have been consecratedH6942 to burnH6999 incenseH6999. LeaveH3318 the sanctuaryH4720, for you have beenH4603 untrueH4603 and will have noH3808 honorH3519 from the LordH3068 GodH430.”
