2 Chronicles 26:5-18
5And he soughtH1875 GodH430 in the daysH3117 of ZechariahH2148, who had understandingH995 in the visionsH7200 of GodH430: and as long asH3117 he soughtH1875 the LORDH3068, GodH430 made him to prosperH6743.1 6And he went forthH3318 and warredH3898 against the PhilistinesH6430, and broke downH6555 the wallH2346 of GathH1661, and the wallH2346 of JabnehH2996, and the wallH2346 of AshdodH795, and builtH1129 citiesH5892 about AshdodH795, and among the PhilistinesH6430.2 7And GodH430 helpedH5826 him against the PhilistinesH6430, and against the ArabiansH6163 that dweltH3427 in GurbaalH1485, and the MehunimsH4586. 8And the AmmonitesH5984 gaveH5414 giftsH4503 to UzziahH5818: and his nameH8034 spread abroadH3212 even to the entranceH935 of EgyptH4714; for he strengthenedH2388 himself exceedinglyH4605.3 9Moreover UzziahH5818 builtH1129 towersH4026 in JerusalemH3389 at the cornerH6438 gateH8179, and at the valleyH1516 gateH8179, and at the turningH4740 of the wall, and fortifiedH2388 them.4 10Also he builtH1129 towersH4026 in the desertH4057, and dugH2672 manyH7227 wellsH953: for he had manyH7227 cattleH4735, both in the low countryH8219, and in the plainsH4334: farmersH406 also, and vinedressersH3755 in the mountainsH2022, and in CarmelH3760: for he lovedH157 the soilH127.567 11Moreover UzziahH5818 had an armyH2428 of fightingH4421 menH6213, that went outH3318 to warH6635 by bandsH1416, according to the numberH4557 of their reckoningH6486 by the handH3027 of JeielH3273 the scribeH5608 and MaaseiahH4641 the rulerH7860, under the handH3027 of HananiahH2608, one of the king’sH4428 captainsH8269. 12The whole numberH4557 of the headsH7218 of the father’sH1 houses of the mighty menH1368 of valourH2428 were two thousandH505 and sixH8337 hundredH3967. 13And under their handH3027 was an armyH2428H6635, threeH7969 hundredH3967 thousandH505 and sevenH7651 thousandH505 and fiveH2568 hundredH3967, that madeH6213 warH4421 with mightyH2428 powerH3581, to helpH5826 the kingH4428 against the enemyH341.8 14And UzziahH5818 preparedH3559 for them throughout all the armyH6635 shieldsH4043, and spearsH7420, and helmetsH3553, and coats of mailH8302, and bowsH7198, and slingsH7050 to cast stonesH68.9 15And he madeH6213 in JerusalemH3389 enginesH2810, inventedH4284 by skilful menH2803, to be on the towersH4026 and upon the bulwarksH6438, to shootH3384 arrowsH2671 and greatH1419 stonesH68. And his nameH8034 spreadH3318 far abroadH7350; for he was marvellouslyH6381 helpedH5826, tillH3588 he was strongH2388.10
16But when he was strongH2393, his heartH3820 was lifted upH1361 to his destructionH7843: for he transgressedH4603 against the LORDH3068 his GodH430, and wentH935 into the templeH1964 of the LORDH3068 to burn incenseH6999 upon the altarH4196 of incenseH7004. 17And AzariahH5838 the priestH3548 went inH935 afterH310 him, and with him eightyH8084 priestsH3548 of the LORDH3068, that were valiantH2428 menH1121: 18And they withstoodH5975 UzziahH5818 the kingH4428, and saidH559 to him, It appertaineth not to thee, UzziahH5818, to burn incenseH6999 to the LORDH3068, but to the priestsH3548 the sonsH1121 of AaronH175, that are consecratedH6942 to burn incenseH6999: go outH3318 of the sanctuaryH4720; for thou hast trespassedH4603; neither shall it be for thy honourH3519 from the LORDH3068 GodH430.
