Jehu Rebukes Jehoshaphat
1Then JehoshaphatH3092 the kingH4428 of JudahH3063 returnedH7725 in safetyH7965 to his houseH1004 in JerusalemH3389. 21And JehuH3058 the sonH1121 of HananiH2607 the seerH2374 wentH3318 outH3318 to meetH6440 him and saidH559 to KingH4428 JehoshaphatH3092, “2Should you helpH5826 the wickedH7563 and loveH157 those who hateH8130 the LordH3068, and 34by doing soH2088 bring wrathH7110 on yourself from the LordH3068? 3But 56thereH4672 isH4672 some goodH2896 in you, for 7you have removedH1197 the 8AsherothH842 from the landH776 and you 9have setH3559 your heartH3824 to seekH1875 GodH430.”
4So JehoshaphatH3092 livedH3427 in JerusalemH3389 and wentH3318 outH3318 againH7725 among the peopleH5971 from BeershebaH884 to the hillH2022 countryH2022 of EphraimH669, and 10broughtH7725 them backH7725 to the LordH3068, the GodH430 of their fathersH1.
Reforms Instituted
5He appointedH5975 11judgesH8199 in the landH776 in allH3605 the fortifiedH1219 citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, cityH5892 by cityH5892. 6He saidH559 to the judgesH8199, “ConsiderH7200 whatH4100 you are doingH6213, for 12you do not judgeH8199 for mankindH120 but for the LordH3068 who is with you 13when you renderH1697 judgmentH4941. 7NowH6258 then, let the fearH6343 of the LordH3068 be upon you; beH8104 carefulH8104 14about what you doH6213, for 15the LordH3068 our GodH430 will 16haveH369 noH369 part in injusticeH5767 17or partialityH5375H6440, or in the takingH4727 of a bribeH7810.”

ThisH3541 you shall doH6213 and you will not be guiltyH816. 11BeholdH2009, AmariahH568 the chiefH7218 priestH3548 will be overH5921 you in 22everyH3605 matterH1697 23that pertains to the LordH3068, and ZebadiahH2069 the sonH1121 of IshmaelH3458, the rulerH5057 of the houseH1004 of JudahH3063, in allH3605 that pertainsH1697 to the kingH4428. Also the LevitesH3881 shall be officersH7860 beforeH6440 you. 2425ActH6213 resolutelyH2388, and may the LordH3068 be with the uprightH2896.”
