4Now it cameH1961 aboutH1961 afterH310 thisH3651 that JoashH3060 1decidedH1961 H5973 H3820 2to restoreH2318 the houseH1004 of the LordH3068. 5He gatheredH6908 the priestsH3548 and LevitesH3881 and saidH559 to them, “GoH3318 outH3318 to the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 and collectH6908 moneyH3701 from allH3605 3IsraelH3478 to 4repairH2388 the houseH1004 of your GodH430 annuallyH1767 H8141, and you shall 5doH4116 the workH1697 quicklyH4116.” But the LevitesH3881 did not actH4116 quicklyH4116. 6So the kingH4428 summonedH7121 JehoiadaH3077, the chiefH7218 priest, and saidH559 to him, “WhyH4069 have you not requiredH1875 the LevitesH3881 to bringH935 inH935 from JudahH3063 and from JerusalemH3389 6the 7contributionH4864 of MosesH4872, the servantH5650 of the LordH3068, and the congregationH6951 of IsraelH3478, 8for the tentH168 of the testimonyH5715?” 7For 9the sonsH1121 of the wickedH4849 AthaliahH6271 had brokenH6555 intoH6555 the houseH1004 of GodH430, and evenH1571 10usedH6213 the holyH6944 thingsH6944 of the houseH1004 of the LordH3068 for the BaalsH1168.

8So the kingH4428 commandedH559, and 11they madeH6213 a chestH727 and setH5414 it outsideH2351 by the gateH8179 of the houseH1004 of the LordH3068. 9 12And they madeH5414 a proclamationH6963 in JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389 to bringH935 to the LordH3068 13the 14contributionH4864 commanded by MosesH4872 the servantH5650 of GodH430 on IsraelH3478 in the wildernessH4057. 10AllH3605 the officersH8269 and allH3605 the peopleH5971 rejoicedH8055, and they broughtH935 inH935 their contribution and 15droppedH7993 it into the chestH727 untilH5704 they had finishedH3615. 11It happenedH1961 that wheneverH6256 the chestH727 was broughtH935 to the king’sH4428 officerH6496 by the LevitesH3881, and 16they sawH7200 that the moneyH3701 was substantialH7227, the king’sH4428 scribeH5613 and the chiefH7218 priest’sH3548 officerH6496 would comeH935 and emptyH6168 the chestH727, and pickH5375 it upH5375 and returnH7725 it to its placeH4725. They didH6213 thisH3541 dailyH3117 and collectedH622 a largeH7230 amountH7230 of moneyH3701. 12The kingH4428 and JehoiadaH3077 gaveH5414 it to those who didH6213 the workH4399 of the serviceH5656 of the houseH1004 of the LordH3068; and they hiredH7936 masonsH2672 and carpentersH2796 to restoreH2318 the houseH1004 of the LordH3068, and alsoH1571 workersH2796 in ironH1270 and bronzeH5178 to repairH2388 the houseH1004 of the LordH3068. 13So the workmenH4399 H6213 laboredH6213, and the repairH724 workH4399 progressedH5927 in their handsH3027, and they 17restoredH5975 the houseH1004 of GodH430 accordingH5921 to its 18specificationsH4971 and strengthenedH553 it.
