28They alsofollowedוַ֭יִּצָּ֣מְדוּvai.yi.Tza.me.duH6775Baal-peorH1187,And ateוַ֝יֹּאכְל֗וּvai.yo.khe.LuH398sacrificesזִבְחֵ֥יziv.CheiH2077offered tothe deadמֵתִֽים׃me.TimH4191.

29So theyprovokedH3707HimtoH3707angerוַ֭יַּכְעִיסוּVai.yakh.'i.suH3707with their deedsבְּמַֽעַלְלֵיהֶ֑םbe.ma.'a.lei.HemH4611,And a plagueמַגֵּפָֽה׃ma.ge.FahH4046brokeH6555outH6555among them.

30Then Phinehasפִּֽ֭ינְחָסPin.chosH6372stoodוַיַּעֲמֹ֣דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975up andintervenedוַיְפַלֵּ֑לvay.fa.LelH6419, And so theplagueהַמַּגֵּפָֽה׃ha.ma.ge.FahH4046was broughtH6113toH6113aH6113haltH6113.

31And it wascreditedוַתֵּחָ֣שֶׁבva.te.Cha.shevH2803to him as righteousnessלִצְדָקָ֑הlitz.da.KahH6666,To allלְדֹ֥רle.DorH1755generationsוָ֝דֹ֗רva.DorH1755foreverעַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃'ad- o.LamH5704 H5769.

32They alsoprovokedH7107HimtoH7107wrathH7107at the watersמֵ֥יmeiH4325ofMeribahמְרִיבָ֑הme.ri.VahH4809, So that itwentH7489badlyH7489for Mosesלְ֝מֹשֶׁ֗הle.mo.ShehH4872on their accountבַּעֲבוּרָֽם׃ba.'a.vu.RamH5668.

33Becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588theywere rebelliousהִמְר֥וּhim.RuH4784againstH854His Spiritרוּח֑וֹru.ChoH7307,He spokeH981rashlyוַ֝יְבַטֵּ֗אvay.va.Te'H981with his lipsבִּשְׂפָתָֽיו׃bis.fa.TavH8193.
