18Now the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478setH6965outH6965,wentH5927upH5927to BethelH1008, andinquiredוַיִּשְׁאֲל֣וּvai.yish.'a.LuH7592of Godבֵאלֹהִים֒ve.lo.HimH430and saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “Whoמִ֚יmiH4310shall goH5927upH5927firstבַתְּחִלָּ֔הva.te.chi.LahH8462for us to battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֖הla.mil.cha.MahH4421againstעִם־'im-H5973the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֑ןvin.ya.MinH1144?”Then the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Judahיְהוּדָ֥הye.hu.DahH3063shall go upfirstבַתְּחִלָּֽה׃va.te.chi.LahH8462.”
20The menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478wentוַיֵּצֵא֙vai.ye.Tze'H3318to battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֖הla.mil.cha.MahH4421againstעִם־'im-H5973Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֑ןbin.ya.MinH1144,and the menאִֽישׁ־'ish-H376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478linedH6186upH6186for battleמִלְחָמָ֖הmil.cha.MahH4421againstאִתָּ֧ם'i.TamH854them at Gibeahהַגִּבְעָֽה׃ha.giv.'AhH1390.
21Then the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֖ןvin.ya.MinH1144cameH3318outH3318of Gibeahהַגִּבְעָ֑הha.giv.'AhH1390andstruckוַיַּשְׁחִ֨יתוּvai.yash.Chi.tuH7843to the groundאָֽרְצָה׃'A.re.tzahH776on that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117twenty-twoשְׁנַ֨יִם וְעֶשְׂרִ֥יםshe.Na.yim ve.'es.RimH8147H6242thousandאֶ֛לֶף'E.lefH505menאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376of Israelבְיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.
22But the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971,the menאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,showedH2388themselves courageousH2388and linedH6186upH6186for battleמִלְחָמָ֔הmil.cha.MahH4421againוַיֹּסִ֙פוּ֙vai.yo.Si.fuH3254in the placeבַּמָּק֕וֹםba.ma.KomH4725whereאֲשֶׁר־ שָׁ֖ם'a.Sher- shamH834H8033they had linedH6186themselves upH6186on the firstהָרִאשֽׁוֹן׃ha.ri.ShonH7223dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117.
23Andthe sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478wentH5927upH5927and weptוַיִּבְכּ֣וּvai.yiv.KuH1058beforeלִפְנֵֽי־lif.nei-H6440the Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068untilעַד־'ad-H5704eveningהָעֶרֶב֒ha.'e.RevH6153, andinquiredוַיִּשְׁאֲל֤וּvai.yish.'a.LuH7592of the Lordבַֽיהוָה֙ba.Yah.wehH3068,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Shall we againהַאוֹסִ֗יףha.'o.SifH3254advanceלָגֶ֙שֶׁת֙la.Ge.shetH5066for battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֔הla.mil.cha.MahH4421againstעִם־'im-H5973the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of my brotherאָחִ֑י'a.ChiH251Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֖ןvin.ya.MinH1144?”And the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “GoH5927upH5927againstאֵלָֽיו׃ פ'e.LavH413him.”
25And Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֨ן׀vin.ya.MinH1144wentH3318outH3318againstלִקְרָאתָ֥ם׀lik.ra.TamH7122them from Gibeahהַגִּבְעָה֮ha.giv.'AhH1390the secondהַשֵּׁנִי֒ha.she.NiH8145dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117and struckוַיַּשְׁחִיתוּ֩vai.yash.chi.TuH7843to the groundאָ֑רְצָה'A.re.tzahH776againע֗וֹדodH5750eighteenשְׁמֹנַ֨ת עָשָׂ֥רshe.mo.Nat 'a.SarH8083H6240thousandאֶ֛לֶף'E.lefH505menאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376of the sonsבִבְנֵ֨יviv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478;allכָּל־kol-H3605of theseאֵ֖לֶּה'E.lehH428drewשֹׁ֥לְפֵיSho.le.feiH8025the swordחָֽרֶב׃Cha.revH2719.

27And the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478inquiredוַיִּשְׁאֲל֥וּvai.yish.'a.LuH7592of the Lordבַּֽיהוָ֑הba.Yah.wehH3068(for the arkאֲרוֹן֙'a.rOnH727of the covenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430wasthereוְשָׁ֗םve.ShamH8033in thoseהָהֵֽם׃ha.HemH1992daysבַּיָּמִ֖יםbai.ya.MimH3117,
