21But Ittaiאִתַּ֛י'i.TaiH863answeredוַיַּ֧עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428and saidוַיֹּאמַ֑רvai.yo.MarH559, “As the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068livesH2416,and as my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428livesH2416,whereverבִּמְק֞וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָּׁ֣ם׀bim.Kom 'a.Sher shamH4725 H834 H8033my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428may be, whetherאִם־'im-H518for deathלְמָ֙וֶת֙le.Ma.vetH4194orאִם־'im-H518for lifeH2425,thereשָׁ֖םshamH8033assuredlyאִם־'im-H3588 H518shall your servantעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃'av.De.khaH5650be!”

22Then Davidדָּוִ֛דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Ittaiאִתַּ֖י'i.TaiH863, “Goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980and crossH5674overH5674the brook Kidron.”So Ittaiאִתַּ֤י'i.TaiH863the Gittiteהַגִּתִּי֙ha.gi.TiH1663crossedH5674overH5674with allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605his menH376and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605thelittleהַטַּ֖ףha.TafH2945onesH2945whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834were with him.

23While allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the countryהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776was weepingבּוֹכִים֙bo.KhimH1058with a loudגָּד֔וֹלga.DolH1419voiceק֣וֹלKolH6963,allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971were crossingH5674overH5674.The kingוְהַמֶּ֗לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428was also crossingH5674overH5674the brookבְּנַ֣חַלbe.Na.chalH5158Kidronקִדְר֔וֹןkid.RonH6939,and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971were crossingH5674overH5674towardעַל־ פְּנֵי־'al- pe.nei-H5921 H6440the wayדֶ֖רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּֽר׃ha.mid.BarH4057.

24Now beholdוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009,Zadokצָד֜וֹקtza.DokH6659alsoגַם־gam-H1571came,and allוְכָֽל־ve.kholH3605the Levitesהַלְוִיִּ֣םhal.vi.YimH3881with him,carryingנֹֽשְׂאִים֙no.se.'ImH5375the arkאֲרוֹן֙'a.rOnH727of the covenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430.And they setH3322downH3322the arkאֲר֣וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430, andAbiatharאֶבְיָתָ֑ר'ev.ya.TarH54cameH5927upH5927untilעַד־'ad-H5704allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971had finishedתֹּ֥םtomH8552crossingH5674overH5674from the cityהָעִֽיר׃ha.'IrH5892.

25And the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Zadokלְצָד֔וֹקle.tza.DokH6659, “ReturnH7725the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430to the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892.Ifאִם־'im-H518I findאֶמְצָ֥א'em.Tza'H4672favorחֵן֙chenH2580in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068, thenHe will bringH7725me backH7725and showוְהִרְאַ֥נִיve.hir.'A.niH7200me both it andHis habitationנָוֵֽהוּ׃na.Ve.huH5116.

26But ifוְאִם֙ve.'ImH518He saysיֹאמַ֔רyo.MarH559thisכֹּ֣הkohH3541: ‘I haveH2654noלֹ֥אlo'H3808delightחָפַ֖צְתִּיcha.Fatz.tiH2654in you,’ thenhereH2009I am,let Him doיַֽעֲשֶׂה־ya.'a.seh-H6213to me as seems goodט֖וֹבTovH2895to Him.”

27The kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428also saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Zadokצָד֣וֹקtza.DokH6659the priestהַכֹּהֵ֔ןha.ko.HenH3548, “Are you nota seerH7203?Returnשֻׁ֥בָהShu.vahH7725to the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892in peaceבְּשָׁל֑וֹםbe.sha.LomH7965, and yourtwoשְׁנֵ֥יshe.NeiH8147sonsבִּנְךָ֜bin.KhaH1121with you, your sonבֶּן־ben-H1121Ahimaazוַאֲחִימַ֨עַץva.'a.chi.Ma.'atzH290and Jonathanוִיהוֹנָתָ֧ןvi.ho.na.TanH3083the sonבְנֵיכֶ֖םve.nei.KhemH1121of Abiatharאֶבְיָתָ֛ר'ev.ya.TarH54.

28Seeרְאוּ֙re.'UH7200,I am going to waitמִתְמַהְמֵ֔הַּmit.mah.Me.ahH4102at the riverH5679crossingH5679placesH5679of the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּ֑רha.mid.BarH4057untilעַ֣ד'adH5704wordדָבָ֛רda.VarH1697comesבּ֥וֹאBo'H935from you to informלְהַגִּ֥ידle.ha.GidH5046me.”

29So Zadokצָד֧וֹקtza.DokH6659and Abiatharוְאֶבְיָתָ֛רve.'ev.ya.TarH54returnedוַיָּ֨שֶׁבvai.Ya.shevH7725the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389and remainedוַיֵּשְׁב֖וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427thereשָֽׁם׃ShamH8033.
