2And Saul’sשָׁא֟וּלsha.'UlH7586sonבֶן־ven-H1121hadהָי֪וּha.YuH1961twoוּשְׁנֵ֣יu.she.NeiH8147menH376who werecommandersשָׂרֵֽי־sa.rei-H8269of troopsגְדוּדִ֣יםge.du.DimH1416:the nameשֵׁם֩shemH8034of the oneהָאֶחָ֨דha.'e.ChadH259was Baanahבַּֽעֲנָ֜הba.'a.NahH1196,and the nameוְשֵׁ֧םve.ShemH8034of the otherהַשֵּׁנִ֣יha.she.NiH8145Rechabרֵכָ֗בre.KhavH7394,sonsבְּנֵ֛יbe.NeiH1121of Rimmonרִמּ֥וֹןri.MonH7417the Beerothiteהַבְּאֶֽרֹתִ֖יha.be.'e.ro.TiH886,of the sonsמִבְּנֵ֣יmi.be.NeiH1121of Benjaminבִנְיָמִ֑ןvin.ya.MinH1144(forBeerothבְּאֵר֔וֹתbe.'e.RotH881is alsoגַּם־gam-H1571consideredתֵּחָשֵׁ֖בte.cha.ShevH2803partof Benjaminבִּנְיָמִֽן׃bin.ya.MinH1144,

5So the sonsבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of Rimmonרִמּ֤וֹןri.MonH7417the Beerothiteהַבְּאֵֽרֹתִי֙ha.be.'e.ro.TiH886,Rechabרֵכָ֣בre.KhavH7394and Baanahוּבַעֲנָ֔הu.va.'a.NahH1196,departedוַיֵּ֨לְכ֜וּvai.Ye.le.KhuH1980and cameוַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙vai.ya.Vo.'uH935to the houseבֵּ֖יתbeitH1004ofIsh-boshethH378in the heatכְּחֹ֣םke.ChomH2527of the dayהַיּ֔וֹםhai.YomH3117,while he was takingשֹׁכֵ֔בsho.KhevH7901his middayהַֽצָּהֳרָֽיִם׃Ha.tzo.ho.Ra.yimH6672restמִשְׁכַּ֥בmish.KavH4904.

6And they cameבָּ֜אוּBa.'uH935to the interiorתּ֤וֹךְTokhH8432of the houseהַבַּ֙יִת֙ha.Ba.yitH1004as ifto getלֹקְחֵ֣יlo.ke.CheiH3947wheatחִטִּ֔יםchi.TimH2406, andthey struckוַיַּכֻּ֖הוּvai.ya.Ku.huH5221him in the bellyהַחֹ֑מֶשׁha.Cho.meshH2570;and Rechabוְרֵכָ֛בve.re.KhavH7394and his brotherאָחִ֖יו'a.ChivH251Baanahוּבַעֲנָ֥הu.va.'a.NahH1196escapedנִמְלָֽטוּ׃nim.La.tuH4422.

7Now when they had comeוַיָּבֹ֣אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935into the houseהַבַּ֗יִתha.Ba.yitH1004,as he was lyingשֹׁכֵ֤בsho.KhevH7901on his bedמִטָּתוֹ֙mi.ta.ToH4296in his bedroomבַּחֲדַ֣ר מִשְׁכָּב֔וֹba.cha.Dar mish.ka.VoH2315 H4904,they struckוַיַּכֻּ֙הוּ֙vai.ya.Ku.huH5221him and killedוַיְמִתֻ֔הוּvay.mi.Tu.huH4191him, and they beheadedוַיָּסִ֖ירוּ רֹאשׁ֑וֹvai.ya.Si.ru ro.ShoH5493 H7218him. And they tookוַיִּקְחוּ֙vai.yik.ChuH3947his headרֹאשׁ֔וֹro.ShoH7218andtraveledוַיֵּֽלְכ֛וּvai.ye.le.KhuH1980by wayדֶּ֥רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the Arabahהָעֲרָבָ֖הha.'a.ra.VahH6160allכָּל־kol-H3605nightהַלָּֽיְלָה׃ha.La.ye.lahH3915.

8Then they broughtוַ֠יָּבִאוּVai.ya.vi.'uH935the headרֹ֨אשׁroshH7218of Ish-boshethH378to Davidדָּוִד֮da.VidH1732at Hebronחֶבְרוֹן֒chev.rOnH2275,and saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559to the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, “Beholdהִנֵּֽה־hi.neh-H2009,the headרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218of Ish-boshethH378the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Saulשָׁאוּל֙sha.'UlH7586,your enemyH340,whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834soughtבִּקֵּ֖שׁbi.KeshH1245your lifeנַפְשֶׁ֑ךָnaf.She.khaH5315;so the Lordיְ֠הוָהYah.wehH3068has givenוַיִּתֵּ֣ןvai.yi.TenH5414my lordלַֽאדֹנִ֨יla.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֤לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428vengeanceנְקָמוֹת֙ne.ka.mOtH5360thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117on Saulמִשָּׁא֖וּלmi.sha.'UlH7586and hisdescendantsוּמִזַּרְעֽוֹ׃ סu.mi.zar.'OH2233.”

9But Davidדָּוִ֜דda.VidH1732repliedוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030to Rechabרֵכָ֣ב׀re.KhavH7394and his brotherאָחִ֗יו'a.ChivH251Baanahבַּעֲנָ֣הba.'a.NahH1196,sonsבְּנֵ֛יbe.NeiH1121of Rimmonרִמּ֥וֹןri.MonH7417the Beerothiteהַבְּאֵֽרֹתִ֖יha.be.'e.ro.TiH886,and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “As the Lordיְהוָ֕הYah.wehH3068livesחַי־chai-H2416,whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834has redeemedפָּדָ֥הpa.DahH6299my lifeנַפְשִׁ֖יnaf.ShiH5315from allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605distressצָרָֽה׃tza.RahH6869,

10whenכִּ֣יkiH3588the one who informedהַמַּגִּיד֩ha.ma.GidH5046me, sayingלֵאמֹ֜רle.MorH559, ‘Beholdהִנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009,Saulשָׁא֗וּלsha.'UlH7586is deadמֵ֣תmetH4191,’ alsoviewedבְּעֵינָ֔יוbe.'ei.NavH5869himselfוְהֽוּא־ve.hu'-H1931as the bearerכִמְבַשֵּׂר֙khim.va.SerH1319ofH1319goodH1319newsH1319,I seizedוָאֹחֲזָ֣הva.'o.cha.ZahH270him and killedוָאֶהְרְגֵ֖הוּva.'eh.re.Ge.huH2026him in Ziklagבְּצִֽקְלָ֑גbe.tzik.LagH6860,whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834was the rewardH1309I gaveלְתִתִּי־le.ti.ti-H5414him forH1309hisnewsבְּשֹׂרָֽה׃be.so.RahH1309.
