5And the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּֽאמֶר־vai.yo.mer-H559to her, “Whatמַה־mah-H4100is troubling you?” And sheansweredוַתֹּ֗אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Trulyאֲבָ֛ל'a.ValH61I am a widowאִשָּֽׁה־ אַלְמָנָ֥ה'i.shah- 'al.ma.NahH802 H490,for my husbandאִישִֽׁי׃'i.ShiH376is deadוַיָּ֥מָתvai.Ya.motH4191.

6And your servantוּלְשִׁפְחָֽתְךָ֙u.le.shif.cha.te.KhaH8198had twoשְׁנֵ֣יshe.NeiH8147sonsבָנִ֔יםva.NimH1121,but the twoשְׁנֵיהֶם֙she.nei.HemH8147of them foughtוַיִּנָּצ֤וּvai.yi.na.TzuH5327in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֔הba.sa.DehH7704,and thereH369wasH369noH369oneH369to saveמַצִּ֖ילma.TzilH5337them fromH996eachH996otherH996,so oneהָאֶחָ֛דha.'e.ChadH259struckוַיַּכּ֧וֹvai.ya.KoH5221the otherהָאֶחָ֖דha.'e.ChadH259and killedוַיָּ֥מֶתvai.Ya.metH4191him.

7Now beholdוְהִנֵּה֩ve.hi.NehH2009,the entireכָֽל־khol-H3605familyהַמִּשְׁפָּחָ֜הha.mish.pa.ChahH4940has risenקָ֨מָהKa.mahH6965againstH5921your servantשִׁפְחָתֶ֗ךָshif.cha.Te.khaH8198,and they have saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, ‘HandH5414overH5414the one who struckמַכֵּ֣הma.KehH5221his brotherאָחִ֗יו'a.ChivH251,so that we may putוּנְמִתֵ֙הוּ֙u.ne.mi.Te.huH4191him toH4191deathH4191for the lifeבְּנֶ֤פֶשׁbe.Ne.feshH5315of his brotherאָחִיו֙'a.ChivH251whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834he killedהָרָ֔גha.RagH2026,and eliminateוְנַשְׁמִ֖ידָהve.nash.Mi.dahH8045the heirהַיּוֹרֵ֑שׁhai.yo.ReshH3423asH1571wellH1571.’So they will extinguishוְכִבּ֗וּve.khi.BuH3518my coalגַּֽחַלְתִּי֙ga.chal.TiH1513whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834is leftנִשְׁאָ֔רָהnish.'A.rahH7604, so as toleaveשִׂיםsom-H7760my husbandלְאִישִׁ֛יle.'i.ShiH376neitherH1115nameשֵׁ֥םshemH8034norH1115remnantוּשְׁאֵרִ֖יתu.she.'e.RitH7611on the faceפְּנֵ֥יpe.NeiH6440of the earthהָאֲדָמָֽה׃ פha.'a.da.MahH127.”

8Then the kingהַמֶּ֛לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the womanהָאִשָּׁ֖הha.'i.ShahH802, “Goלְכִ֣יle.KhiH1980to your homeלְבֵיתֵ֑ךְle.vei.TekhH1004,and I will issueH6680ordersH6680concerningעָלָֽיִךְ׃'a.La.yikhH5921you.”

9The womanהָאִשָּׁ֤הha.'i.ShahH802of Tekoaהַתְּקוֹעִית֙ha.te.ko.'ItH8621saidוַתֹּ֜אמֶרva.To.merH559to the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, “My lordאֲדֹנִ֥י'a.do.NiH113,the kingהַמֶּ֛לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,the guiltהֶעָוֹ֖ןhe.'a.VonH5771is on me and my father’sאָבִ֑י'a.ViH1houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004, butthe kingוְהַמֶּ֥לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428and his throneוְכִסְא֖וֹve.khis.'OH3678are guiltlessנָקִֽי׃ סna.KiH5355.”

10So the kingהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Whoever speaksהַֽמְדַבֵּ֤רham.da.BerH1696to you, bringוַֽהֲבֵאת֣וֹva.ha.ve.ToH935him to me, and he will not touchלָגַ֥עַתla.Ga.'atH5060you anymoreיֹסִ֥יף ע֖וֹדyo.Sif odH3254 H5750.”

11Then she saidוַתֹּאמֶר֩va.to.MerH559, “May the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428pleaseנָ֨אna'H4994rememberיִזְכָּר־yiz.kor-H2142the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430, so thatthe avengerגֹּאֵ֤לgo.'ElH1350of bloodהַדָּם֙ha.DamH1818will not continueמֵהַרְבַּ֞תme.har.vitH7235to destroyלְשַׁחֵ֔תle.sha.ChetH7843,otherwiseוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808they will destroyיַשְׁמִ֖ידוּyash.Mi.duH8045my sonבְּנִ֑יbe.NiH1121.”And he saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “As the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068livesחַי־chai-H2416,not one hairמִשַּׂעֲרַ֥תmi.sa.'a.RatH8185of your sonבְּנֵ֖ךְbe.NekhH1121shall fallיִפֹּ֛לyi.PolH5307to the groundאָֽרְצָה׃'A.re.tzahH776.”

12Then the womanהָֽאִשָּׁ֔הha.'i.ShahH802saidוַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙va.To.merH559, “Pleaseנָ֧אna'H4994let your servantשִׁפְחָתְךָ֛shif.cha.te.KhaH8198speakתְּדַבֶּר־te.da.ber-H1696a wordדָּבָ֑רda.VarH1697to my lordאֲדֹנִ֥י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428.”And he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Speakדַּבֵּֽרִי׃ סda.Be.riH1696.”
