1Now beholdוְהִנֵּ֣ה׀ve.hi.NehH2009,a manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godאֱלֹהִ֗ים'E.lo.HimH430cameבָּ֧אba'H935from Judahמִיהוּדָ֛הmi.hu.DahH3063to BethelH1008by the wordבִּדְבַ֥רbid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,while Jeroboamוְיָרָבְעָ֛םve.ya.ra.ve.'AmH3379was standingעֹמֵ֥ד'o.MedH5975at the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַha.miz.Be.achH4196to burnH6999incenseH6999.

2Andhe criedH7121outH7121againstH5921the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ha.miz.Be.achH4196by the wordבִּדְבַ֣רbid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068and saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Altarמִזְבֵּ֣חַmiz.Be.achH4196,altarמִזְבֵּ֔חַmiz.Be.achH4196,thisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: ‘Beholdהִנֵּֽה־hi.neh-H2009,a sonבֵ֞ןvenH1121shall be bornנוֹלָ֤דno.LadH3205to the houseלְבֵית־le.veit-H1004of Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732,Josiahיֹאשִׁיָּ֣הוּyo.shi.Ya.huH2977by nameשְׁמ֔וֹshe.MoH8034;and on you he shall sacrificeוְזָבַ֣חve.za.VachH2076the priestsכֹּהֲנֵ֤יko.ha.NeiH3548of the highהַבָּמוֹת֙ha.ba.mOtH1116placesH1116who burnH6999incenseH6999on you, and humanאָדָ֖ם'a.DamH120bonesוְעַצְמ֥וֹתve.'atz.MotH6106shall burnיִשְׂרְפ֥וּyis.re.FuH8313on you.’”

3Then he gaveוְנָתַן֩ve.na.TanH5414asignמוֹפֵת֙mo.FetH4159on the sameהַה֤וּאha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֨וֹםbai.YomH3117,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “Thisזֶ֣הzehH2088is thesignהַמּוֹפֵ֔תha.mo.FetH4159whichאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068has spokenדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696: ‘Beholdהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009,the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ha.miz.Be.achH4196shall be tornנִקְרָ֔עnik.Ra'H7167toH7167piecesH7167and theashesהַדֶּ֥שֶׁןha.De.shenH1880whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834are on it shall be pouredוְנִשְׁפַּ֖ךְve.nish.PakhH8210outH8210.’”

4Now when the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428heardכִשְׁמֹ֨עַkhish.Mo.a'H8085the statementדְּבַ֣רde.VarH1697of the manאִישׁ־'ish-H376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֗יםha.'E.lo.HimH430whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834he criedH7121outH7121againstH5921the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ha.miz.Be.achH4196in BethelH1008,Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֧םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379stretchedוַיִּשְׁלַ֨חvai.yish.LachH7971outH7971his handיָד֛וֹya.DoH3027from the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַha.miz.Be.achH4196,sayingלֵאמֹ֣ר׀le.MorH559, “Seizeתִּפְשֻׂ֑הוּtif.Su.huH8610him!” But his handיָדוֹ֙ya.DoH3027whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834he had stretchedשָׁלַ֣חsha.LachH7971outH7971towardH5921him driedH3001upH3001,and he couldיָכֹ֖לya.KholH3201not drawH7725it backלַהֲשִׁיבָ֥הּla.ha.shi.VahH7725to himself.

5The altarוְהַמִּזְבֵּ֣חַve.ha.miz.Be.achH4196also was tornנִקְרָ֔עnik.Ra'H7167toH7167piecesH7167and theashesהַדֶּ֖שֶׁןha.De.shenH1880were pouredוַיִּשָּׁפֵ֥ךְvai.yi.sha.FekhH8210outH8210from the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַha.miz.Be.achH4196, in accordance with thesignכַּמּוֹפֵ֗תka.mo.FetH4159whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834the manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430had givenנָתַ֛ןna.TanH5414by the wordבִּדְבַ֥רbid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

6And the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428respondedוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀vai.Yo.merH559to the manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֗יםha.'E.lo.HimH430, “Pleaseנָ֞אna'H4994appeaseחַל־ פְּנֵ֨יchal- pe.NeiH2470 H6440the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430and prayוְהִתְפַּלֵּ֣לve.hit.pa.LelH6419for me, so that my handיָדִ֖יya.DiH3027may be restoredוְתָשֹׁ֥בve.ta.ShoH7725to me.” Sothe manאִישׁ־'ish-H376of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430appeasedוַיְחַ֤ל פְּנֵ֣יvay.Chal pe.NeiH2470 H6440the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and the king’sהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428handיַד־yad-H3027was restoredוַתָּ֤שָׁבva.Ta.shovH7725to him, and it becameוַתְּהִ֖יva.te.HiH1961as it was beforeכְּבָרִֽאשֹׁנָֽה׃ke.va.Ri.sho.NahH7223.

7Then the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיְדַבֵּ֤רvay.da.BerH1696to the manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430, “Comeבֹּאָה־bo.'ah-H935homeהַבַּ֖יְתָהha.Bay.tahH1004with me and refreshוּֽסְעָ֑דָהu.se.'A.dahH5582yourself, andI will giveוְאֶתְּנָ֥הve.'e.te.NahH5414you a giftמַתָּֽת׃ma.TatH4991.”

8But the manאִישׁ־'ish-H376of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, “Ifאִם־'im-H518you were to giveתִּתֶּן־ti.ten-H5414me halfחֲצִ֣יcha.TziH2677your houseבֵיתֶ֔ךָvei.Te.khaH1004,I would not goאָבֹ֖א'a.Vo'H935with you, norH3808would I eatאֹ֤כַל'O.khalH398breadלֶ֙חֶם֙le.chemH3899or drinkאֶשְׁתֶּה־'esh.teh-H8354waterמַּ֔יִםMa.yimH4325in thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088placeבַּמָּק֖וֹםba.ma.KomH4725.

9For soכֵ֣ן׀khenH3651it was commandedצִוָּ֣הtzi.VahH6680me by the wordבִּדְבַ֤רbid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘You shall not eatתֹ֥אכַלTo.khalH398breadלֶ֖חֶםLe.chemH3899norH3808drinkתִשְׁתֶּה־tish.teh-H8354waterמָּ֑יִםMa.yimH4325,norH3808returnתָשׁ֔וּבta.ShuvH7725by the wayבַּדֶּ֖רֶךְba.De.rekhH1870that you cameהָלָֽכְתָּ׃ha.La.khe.taH1980.’”

10So he wentוַיֵּ֖לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980anotherאַחֵ֑ר'a.CherH312wayבְּדֶ֣רֶךְbe.De.rekhH1870and did not returnשָׁ֣בshavH7725by the wayבַּדֶּ֔רֶךְba.De.rekhH1870that he had comeבָּ֥אba'H935to BethelH1008.
