1Suddenlyוְהִנֵּ֣ה׀ve.hi.NehH2009,as Jeroboamוְיָרָבְעָ֛םve.ya.ra.ve.'AmH3379was standingעֹמֵ֥ד'o.MedH5975besideעַל־'al-H5921the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַha.miz.Be.achH4196to burn incenseלְהַקְטִֽיר׃le.hak.TirH6999,there cameבָּ֧אba'H935a manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godאֱלֹהִ֗ים'E.lo.HimH430from Judahמִיהוּדָ֛הmi.hu.DahH3063toאֶל־'el-H413BethelH1008by the wordבִּדְבַ֥רbid.VarH1697of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068.

2And he cried outוַיִּקְרָ֤אvai.yik.Ra'H7121againstעַל־'al-H5921the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ha.miz.Be.achH4196by the wordבִּדְבַ֣רbid.VarH1697of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “O altarמִזְבֵּ֣חַmiz.Be.achH4196,O altarמִזְבֵּ֔חַmiz.Be.achH4196,this is whatכֹּ֖הkohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר הִנֵּֽה־'a.Mar hi.neh-H559 H2009: ‘A sonבֵ֞ןvenH1121namedשְׁמ֔וֹshe.MoH8034Josiahיֹאשִׁיָּ֣הוּyo.shi.Ya.huH2977will be bornנוֹלָ֤דno.LadH3205to the houseלְבֵית־le.veit-H1004of Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732,and upon youעָלֶ֗יךָ'a.Lei.khaH5921אֶת־'et-H853he will sacrificeוְזָבַ֣חve.za.VachH2076the priestsכֹּהֲנֵ֤יko.ha.NeiH3548of the high placesהַבָּמוֹת֙ha.ba.mOtH1116who burn incenseהַמַּקְטִרִ֣יםha.mak.ti.RimH6999upon youעָלֶ֔יךָ'a.Lei.khaH5921,and humanאָדָ֖ם'a.DamH120bonesוְעַצְמ֥וֹתve.'atz.MotH6106will be burnedיִשְׂרְפ֥וּyis.re.FuH8313upon youעָלֶֽיךָ׃'a.Lei.khaH5921.’”

3Thatהַה֤וּאha.Hu'H1931dayבַּיּ֨וֹםbai.YomH3117the man of Godgaveוְנָתַן֩ve.na.TanH5414a signמוֹפֵת֙mo.FetH4159,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “The LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068has spokenדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696thisזֶ֣הzehH2088signהַמּוֹפֵ֔תha.mo.FetH4159אֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834: ‘Surelyהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ha.miz.Be.achH4196will be split apartנִקְרָ֔עnik.Ra'H7167,and the ashesהַדֶּ֥שֶׁןha.De.shenH1880אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834upon itעָלָֽיו׃'a.LavH5921will be poured outוְנִשְׁפַּ֖ךְve.nish.PakhH8210.’”

4Now whenוַיְהִי֩vay.HiH1961Kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428אֶת־'et-H853Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֧םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379אֶת־'et-H853,who was atעַל־'al-H5921the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ha.miz.Be.achH4196inבְּבֵֽית־be.veit-H1008Bethelאֵ֔ל'ElH1008,heardכִשְׁמֹ֨עַkhish.Mo.a'H8085the wordדְּבַ֣רde.VarH1697thatאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the manאִישׁ־'ish-H376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֗יםha.'E.lo.HimH430had cried outקָרָ֤אka.Ra'H7121againstמֵעַ֥לme.'AlH5921itהַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַha.miz.Be.achH4196,he stretched outוַיִּשְׁלַ֨חvai.yish.LachH7971his handיָד֛וֹya.DoH3027and saidלֵאמֹ֣ר׀le.MorH559, “Seize himתִּפְשֻׂ֑הוּtif.Su.huH8610!”But the handיָדוֹ֙ya.DoH3027he stretched outשָׁלַ֣חsha.LachH7971אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834toward himעָלָ֔יו'a.LavH5921witheredוַתִּיבַ֤שׁva.ti.VashH3001,so that he couldיָכֹ֖לya.KholH3201notוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808pull it backלַהֲשִׁיבָ֥הּ אֵלָֽיו׃la.ha.shi.Vah 'e.LavH7725 H413.

5And the altarוְהַמִּזְבֵּ֣חַve.ha.miz.Be.achH4196was split apartנִקְרָ֔עnik.Ra'H7167,and the ashesהַדֶּ֖שֶׁןha.De.shenH1880poured outוַיִּשָּׁפֵ֥ךְvai.yi.sha.FekhH8210מִן־min-H4480הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַha.miz.Be.achH4196,according to the signכַּמּוֹפֵ֗תka.mo.FetH4159thatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834the manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430had givenנָתַ֛ןna.TanH5414by the wordבִּדְבַ֥רbid.VarH1697of the LORDיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

6Then the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀ha.Me.lekh vai.Yo.merH4428 H559respondedוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030toאֶל־'el-H413the manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֗יםha.'E.lo.HimH430, “Intercedeחַל־ נָ֞אchal- na'H2470 H4994אֶת־'et-H853withפְּנֵ֨יpe.NeiH6440the LORDיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙'e.lo.Hei.khaH430and prayוְהִתְפַּלֵּ֣לve.hit.pa.LelH6419for meבַּעֲדִ֔יba.'a.DiH1157that my handיָדִ֖יya.DiH3027may be restoredוְתָשֹׁ֥בve.ta.ShoH7725אֵלָ֑י'e.LaiH413.”So the manאִישׁ־'ish-H376of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430אֶת־'et-H853intercededוַיְחַ֤לvay.ChalH2470withפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and the king’sהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428handיַד־yad-H3027was restoredוַתָּ֤שָׁבva.Ta.shovH7725to himאֵלָ֔יו'e.LavH413asוַתְּהִ֖יva.te.HiH1961it wasbeforeכְּבָרִֽאשֹׁנָֽה׃ke.va.Ri.sho.NahH7223.

7Then the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיְדַבֵּ֤רvay.da.BerH1696toאֶל־'el-H413the manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430, “Comeבֹּאָה־bo.'ah-H935homeהַבַּ֖יְתָהha.Bay.tahH1004with meאִתִּ֥י'i.TiH854and refresh yourselfוּֽסְעָ֑דָהu.se.'A.dahH5582,and I will giveוְאֶתְּנָ֥הve.'e.te.NahH5414youa rewardמַתָּֽת׃ma.TatH4991.”

8But the manאִישׁ־'ish-H376of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל־ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.'E.lo.Him 'el- ha.Me.lekhH430 H413 H4428repliedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Ifאִם־'im-H518you were to giveתִּתֶּן־ti.ten-H5414meאֶת־'et-H853halfחֲצִ֣יcha.TziH2677your possessionsבֵיתֶ֔ךָvei.Te.khaH1004,I still would notלֹ֥אlo'H3808goאָבֹ֖א'a.Vo'H935with youעִמָּ֑ךְ'i.MakhH5973,norוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808would I eatאֹ֤כַל'O.khalH398breadלֶ֙חֶם֙ וְלֹ֣אle.chem ve.Lo'H3899 H3808or drinkאֶשְׁתֶּה־'esh.teh-H8354waterמַּ֔יִםMa.yimH4325in thisהַזֶּֽה׃ha.ZehH2088placeבַּמָּק֖וֹםba.ma.KomH4725.

9Forכִּֽי־ki-H3588this is whatכֵ֣ן׀khenH3651I was commandedצִוָּ֣הtzi.VahH6680אֹתִ֗י'o.TiH853by the wordבִּדְבַ֤רbid.VarH1697of the LORDיְהוָה֙ לֵאמֹ֔רYah.weh le.MorH3068 H559: ‘You must notלֹא־lo'-H3808eatתֹ֥אכַלTo.khalH398breadלֶ֖חֶם וְלֹ֣אLe.chem ve.Lo'H3899 H3808or drinkתִשְׁתֶּה־tish.teh-H8354waterמָּ֑יִם וְלֹ֣אMa.yim ve.Lo'H4325 H3808or returnתָשׁ֔וּבta.ShuvH7725by the wayבַּדֶּ֖רֶךְba.De.rekhH1870אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834you cameהָלָֽכְתָּ׃ha.La.khe.taH1980.’”

10So the man of God wentוַיֵּ֖לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980anotherאַחֵ֑ר'a.CherH312wayבְּדֶ֣רֶךְbe.De.rekhH1870and did notוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808returnשָׁ֣בshavH7725by the wayבַּדֶּ֔רֶךְba.De.rekhH1870אֲשֶׁ֛ר'a.SherH834he had comeבָּ֥אba'H935toאֶל־'el-H413BethelH1008.
