2So Davidדָּוִ֔ידda.VidH1732gaveH559ordersH559to gatherלִכְנוֹס֙likh.nOsH3664the strangersהַגֵּרִ֔יםha.ge.RimH1616whoאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834were in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478, andhe setוַיַּעֲמֵ֣דvai.ya.'a.MedH5975stonecuttersH2672to cutH2672outH2672stonesאַבְנֵ֣י'av.NeiH68to buildלִבְנ֖וֹתliv.NotH1129the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430.

3And Davidדָּוִ֑ידda.VidH1732preparedהֵכִ֣יןhe.KhinH3559largeH7230quantitiesH7230of ironוּבַרְזֶ֣ל׀u.var.ZelH1270to make the nailsלַֽמִּסְמְרִ֞יםla.mis.me.RimH4548for the doorsלְדַלְת֧וֹתle.dal.TotH1817of the gatesהַשְּׁעָרִ֛יםha.she.'a.RimH8179and for the clampsוְלַֽמְחַבְּר֖וֹתve.lam.cha.be.RotH4226,and moreH7230bronzeוּנְחֹ֥שֶׁתu.ne.Cho.shetH5178than could be weighedמִשְׁקָֽל׃mish.KalH4948;

5Davidדָּוִ֗ידda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “My sonבְנִי֮ve.NiH1121Solomonשְׁלֹמֹ֣הshe.lo.MohH8010is youngנַ֣עַרNa.'arH5288and inexperiencedוָרָךְ֒va.roKhH7390,and the houseוְהַבַּ֜יִתve.ha.Ba.yitH1004that is to be builtלִבְנ֣וֹתliv.NotH1129for the Lordלַיהוָ֗הla.Yah.wehH3068shall beH1431exceedinglyלְמַ֜עְלָהle.Ma'.lahH4605magnificentH1431,famousלְשֵׁ֤םle.ShemH8034,and gloriousוּלְתִפְאֶ֙רֶת֙u.le.tif.'E.retH8597throughoutלְכָל־le.kholH3605the landsהָ֣אֲרָצ֔וֹתha.'a.ra.TzotH776. Solomon Commanded to Build the Temple

6Thenhe calledוַיִּקְרָ֖אvai.yik.Ra'H7121for his sonבְנ֑וֹve.NoH1121Solomonלִשְׁלֹמֹ֣הlish.lo.MohH8010,and commandedוַיְצַוֵּ֙הוּ֙vay.tza.Ve.huH6680him to buildלִבְנ֣וֹתliv.NotH1129a houseבַּ֔יִתBa.yitH1004for the Lordלַיהוָ֖הla.Yah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ סYis.ra.'ElH3478.

7Davidדָּוִ֖ידda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Solomonלִשְׁלֹמֹ֑הlish.lo.MohH8010, “My sonבְּנִ֕יbe.niH1121,I had intendedלְבָבִ֔יle.va.ViH3824to buildלִבְנ֣וֹתliv.NotH1129a houseבַּ֔יִתBa.yitH1004for the nameלְשֵׁ֖םle.ShemH8034of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068my Godאֱלֹהָֽי׃'e.lo.HaiH430.

8But the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068cameוַיְהִ֨יvay.HiH1961to me, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘You have shedשָׁפַ֔כְתָּsha.Fakh.taH8210muchלָרֹב֙la.RoH7230bloodדָּ֤םdamH1818and havewagedעָשִׂ֑יתָ'a.Si.taH6213greatגְּדֹל֖וֹתge.do.LotH1419warsוּמִלְחָמ֥וֹתu.mil.cha.MotH4421;you shall not buildתִבְנֶ֥הtiv.NehH1129a houseבַ֙יִת֙va.yitH1004to My nameלִשְׁמִ֔יlish.MiH8034,becauseכִּ֚יkiH3588you have shedשָׁפַ֥כְתָּsha.Fakh.taH8210somuchרַבִּ֔יםra.BimH7227bloodדָּמִ֣יםda.MimH1818on the earthאַ֖רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776beforeלְפָנָֽי׃le.fa.NaiH6440Me.

9Beholdהִנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009,a sonבֵ֞ןvenH1121will be bornנוֹלָ֣דno.LadH3205to you, whoה֤וּאhu'H1931shall be a manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of restמְנוּחָ֔הme.nu.ChahH4496, andI will giveוַהֲנִח֥וֹתִיva.ha.ni.Cho.tiH5117him restH5117from allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605his enemiesH340on everyH5439sideH5439; forhis nameשְׁמ֔וֹshe.MoH8034will beSolomonשְׁלֹמֹה֙she.lo.MohH8010,and I will giveאֶתֵּ֥ן'e.TenH5414peaceוְשָׁל֥וֹםve.sha.LomH7965and quietוָשֶׁ֛קֶטva.She.ketH8253to Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478in his daysבְּיָמָֽיו׃be.ya.MavH3117.

10He shall buildיִבְנֶ֥הyiv.NehH1129a houseבַ֙יִת֙va.yitH1004for My nameלִשְׁמִ֔יlish.MiH8034,and he shall be My sonלְבֵ֔ןle.VenH1121and I will be his Fatherלְאָ֑בle.'AvH1;and I will establishוַהֲכִ֨ינוֹתִ֜יva.ha.Khi.no.TiH3559the throneכִּסֵּ֧אki.Se'H3678of his kingdomמַלְכוּת֛וֹmal.khu.ToH4438overעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478foreverעַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃'ad- o.LamH5704 H5769.’

11Nowעַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH6258,my sonבְנִ֔יve.NiH1121,the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068be with you that you may beH6743successfulוְהִצְלַחְתָּ֗ve.hitz.lach.TaH6743,and buildוּבָנִ֙יתָ֙u.va.Ni.taH1129the houseבֵּ֚יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ'e.lo.Hei.khaH430justH3512asH3512He has spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696concerningעָלֶֽיךָ׃'a.Lei.khaH5921you.

12Onlyאַ֣ךְ'akhH389the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068giveיִֽתֶּן־yi.ten-H5414you discretionשֵׂ֣כֶלSe.khelH7922and understandingוּבִינָ֔הu.vi.NahH998,and putH6680you inH6680chargeH6680of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478, so that you maykeepוְלִשְׁמ֕וֹרve.lish.MorH8104the Lawתּוֹרַ֖תto.RatH8451of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃'e.lo.Hei.khaH430.

13Thenאָ֣ז'azH227you will prosperתַּצְלִ֔יחַtatz.Li.achH6743,ifאִם־'im-H518you areH8104carefulH8104tofollowלַעֲשׂוֹת֙la.'a.sOtH6213the statutesהַֽחֻקִּ֣יםha.chu.KimH2706and the ordinancesהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔יםha.mish.pa.TimH4941whichאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068commandedצִוָּ֧הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶׁ֖הmo.ShehH4872concerningעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478.Be strongחֲזַ֣קcha.ZakH2388and courageousוֶאֱמָ֔ץve.'e.MatzH553,do not fearתִּירָ֖אti.Ra'H3372norH408be dismayedתֵּחָֽת׃te.ChatH2865.

14Now beholdוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009,with greatH6040painsH6040I have preparedהֲכִינ֣וֹתִיha.khi.No.tiH3559for the houseלְבֵית־le.veit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068a hundredמֵֽאָה־me.'ah-H3967thousandH505talentsכִּכָּרִ֤יםki.ka.RimH3603of goldזָהָ֞בza.HavH2091and a millionH505talentsכִּכָּרִ֔יםki.ka.RimH3603of silverוְכֶ֗סֶףve.Khe.sefH3701, andbronzeוְלַנְּחֹ֤שֶׁתve.la.ne.Cho.shetH5178and ironוְלַבַּרְזֶל֙ve.la.bar.ZelH1270beyondאֵ֣ין'einH369measureמִשְׁקָ֔לmish.KalH4948, forthey are in greatH7230quantityH7230;I have also preparedהֲכִינ֔וֹתִיha.khi.No.tiH3559timberוְעֵצִ֤יםve.'e.TzimH6086and stoneוַאֲבָנִים֙va.'a.va.NimH68,and you may addתּוֹסִֽיף׃to.SifH3254to that.

15Moreover there are manyלָרֹב֙la.RoH7230workmenעֹשֵׂ֣י מְלָאכָ֔ה'o.Sei me.la.KhahH4399 H6213with you, stonecuttersחֹצְבִ֕יםcho.tze.VimH2672,masonsH2796of stoneאֶ֖בֶן'E.venH68,and carpentersוָעֵ֑ץva.'EtzH2796 H6086;and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605of themare skillfulחָכָ֖םcha.KhamH2450in everyבְּכָל־be.kholH3605kind of workמְלָאכָֽה׃me.la.KhahH4399.

16Of the goldלַזָּהָ֥בla.za.HavH2091,silverלַכֶּ֛סֶףla.Ke.sefH3701,bronzeוְלַנְּחֹ֥שֶׁתve.la.ne.Cho.shetH5178,and ironוְלַבַּרְזֶ֖לve.la.bar.ZelH1270thereH369isH369noH369limitמִסְפָּ֑רmis.ParH4557.Ariseק֣וּםkumH6965and workוַעֲשֵׂ֔הva.'a.SehH6213, and maythe Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068be with you.”

17Davidדָּוִיד֙da.VidH1732also commandedוַיְצַ֤וvay.TzavH6680allלְכָל־le.kholH3605the leadersשָׂרֵ֣יsa.ReiH8269of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478to helpלַעְזֹ֖רla'.ZorH5826his sonבְנֽוֹ׃ve.NoH1121Solomonלִשְׁלֹמֹ֥הlish.lo.MohH8010, saying,

18“Is the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068your Godאֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙'e.lo.hei.KhemH430not with you? Andhas He not givenH5117you restוְהֵנִ֥יחַve.he.Ni.achH5117on everyH5439sideH5439?For He has handedבְּיָדִ֗יbe.ya.DiH5414 H3027overH5414to me the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵ֣יyo.she.VeiH3427of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,and the landהָאָ֛רֶץha.'A.retzH776is subduedוְנִכְבְּשָׁ֥הve.nikh.be.ShahH3533beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068and beforeוְלִפְנֵ֥יve.lif.NeiH6440His peopleעַמּֽוֹ׃a.MoH5971.
