Jeremiah 20:3-10
3On the nextH4283 dayH4283, when PashhurH6583 releasedH3318 JeremiahH3414 from the stocksH4115, JeremiahH3414 saidH559 to him, “PashhurH6583 is not the nameH8034 the LordH3068 has 1calledH7121 you, but ratherH3588H518 23Magor-missabibH4036. 4For thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, ‘BeholdH2009, I am going to makeH5414 you a 4terrorH4032 to yourself and to allH3605 your friendsH157; and while 5your eyesH5869 lookH7200 on, they will fallH5307 by the swordH2719 of their enemiesH340. So I will 6giveH5414 over allH3605 JudahH3063 to the handH3027 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and he will carryH1540 them awayH1540 as 7exilesH1540 to BabylonH894 and will slayH5221 them with the swordH2719. 5I will also giveH5414 over allH3605 the 8wealthH2633 of thisH2088 cityH5892, allH3605 its produceH3018 and allH3605 its costlyH3366 thingsH3366; even allH3605 the treasuresH214 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063 I will giveH5414 over to the 9handH3027 of their enemiesH340, and they will plunderH962 them, takeH3947 them away and bringH935 them to BabylonH894. 6And you, 10PashhurH6583, and allH3605 who liveH3427 in your houseH1004 will goH1980 into captivityH7628; and you will enterH935 BabylonH894, and thereH8033 you will dieH4191 and thereH8033 you will be buriedH6912, you and allH3605 your 11friendsH157 to whomH834 you have 12falselyH8267 prophesiedH5012.’”
7O LordH3068, You have deceivedH6601 me and I was deceivedH6601; You have 13overcomeH2388 me and prevailedH3201. I have becomeH1961 a 14laughingstockH7814 allH3605 dayH3117 long; EveryoneH3605 15mocksH3932 me.8For eachH1767 timeH1767 I speakH1696, I cryH2199 aloudH2199; I 16proclaimH7121 violenceH2555 and destructionH7701, BecauseH3588 for me the 17wordH1697 of the LordH3068 has 18resultedH1961 In reproachH2781 and derisionH7047 allH3605 dayH3117 long.9But if I sayH559, “I will not 19rememberH2142 Him Or speakH1696 anymoreH5750 in His nameH8034,” Then in 20my heartH3820 it becomesH1961 like a burningH1197 fireH784 ShutH6113 up in my bonesH6106; And I am wearyH3811 of holdingH3557 it in, And 21I cannotH3808 endureH3201 it.10For 22I have heardH8085 the whisperingH1681 of manyH7227, “23TerrorH4032 on everyH5439 sideH5439! 24DenounceH5046 him; yes, let us denounceH5046 him!” 25AllH3605 my 26trustedH7965 friendsH582H7965, WatchingH8104 for my fallH6761, say: “PerhapsH194 he will be 27deceivedH6601, so that we may 28prevailH3201 against him And takeH3947 our revengeH5360 on him.”
