New American Standard Bible 1995
Hosea’s Second Symbolic Marriage
1Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to me, “GoH1980 againH5750, loveH157 a 1womanH802 who is lovedH157 by her 2husbandH7453, yet an adulteressH5003, even 3as the LordH3068 lovesH157 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478, though they turnH6437 to otherH312 godsH430 and loveH157 raisinH809H6025 4cakesH809.”
2So I 5boughtH3739 her for myself for fifteenH2568H6240 shekels of silverH3701 and a homerH2563 and a 6halfH3963 of barleyH8184.
3Then I saidH559 to her, “You shall 7stayH3427 with me for manyH7227 daysH3117. You shall not playH2181 the harlotH2181, norH3808 shall you haveH1961 a 8manH376; so I will alsoH1571 be towardH413 you.”
4For the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 will remainH3427 for manyH7227 daysH3117 9withoutH369 kingH4428 or princeH8269, 10withoutH369 sacrificeH2077 or sacred 11pillarH4676 and withoutH369 12ephodH646 or 1314householdH8655 idolsH8655.
5AfterwardH310 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 will 15returnH7725 and seekH1245 the LordH3068 their GodH430 and 16DavidH1732 their kingH4428; and 17they will comeH6342 tremblingH6342 to the LordH3068 and to His goodnessH2898 in the lastH319 daysH3117.
