Hosea 11

God Yearns over His People

1WhenH3588 IsraelH3478 was a youthH5288 I lovedH157 him, And 1out of EgyptH4714 I 2calledH7121 My sonH1121.2The more 34they calledH7121 them, The moreH3651 they wentH1980 from 5them; They kept 6sacrificingH2076 to the BaalsH1168 And 7burningH6999 incenseH6999 to idolsH6456.3Yet it is I who taughtH7270 EphraimH669 to walkH7270, 8I 9tookH3947 them in My armsH2220; But they did not knowH3045 that I 10healedH7495 them.4I 11ledH4900 them with cordsH2256 of a manH120, with bondsH5688 of loveH160, And 12I becameH1961 to them as one who liftsH7311 the yokeH5923 from their jawsH3895; And I bentH5186 downH5186 and 13fedH398 them.

514They will not returnH7725 to the landH776 of EgyptH4714; But AssyriaH804--he will be 15their kingH4428 BecauseH3588 they 16refusedH3985 to returnH7725 to Me.6The 17swordH2719 will whirlH2342 against 18their citiesH5892, And will demolishH3615 19their gate barsH905 And 20consumeH3615 them becauseH4480 of their 21counselsH4156.7So My peopleH5971 are bentH8511 on 22turningH4878 from Me. Though 23they callH7121 24them to the One on highH5920, NoneH3808 at allH3162 exaltsH7311 Him.

825HowH349 can I giveH5414 you up, O EphraimH669? How can I surrenderH4042 you, O IsraelH3478? HowH349 can I 26makeH5414 you like 27AdmahH126? How can I treatH7760 you like 28ZeboiimH6636? My heartH3820 is turnedH2015 overH2015 withinH5921 Me, 29AllH3162 My compassionsH5150 are kindledH3648.9I will 30not executeH6213 My fierceH2740 angerH639; I will not destroyH7843 EphraimH669 31againH7725. For 32I am GodH410 and not manH376, the 33HolyH6918 OneH6918 in your midstH7130, And I will not comeH935 in 34wrathH5892.10They will 35walkH1980 afterH310 the LordH3068, He will 36roarH7580 like a lionH743; IndeedH3588 He will roarH7580 And His sonsH1121 will comeH2729 37tremblingH2729 from the westH3220.11They will comeH2729 tremblingH2729 like birdsH6833 from 38EgyptH4714 And like 39dovesH3123 from the landH776 of 40AssyriaH804; And I will 41settleH3427 them in their housesH1004, declaresH5002 the LordH3068.

1242EphraimH669 surroundsH5437 Me with 43liesH3585 And the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 with deceitH4820; JudahH3063 is alsoH5750 unrulyH7300 againstH5973 GodH410, Even againstH5973 the HolyH6918 OneH6918 who is faithfulH539.
