Hosea Redeems His Wife
(Zechariah 2:6–13)
1Then the LORDH3068 saidH559 to meH413, “GoH1980 show loveH157 to your wifeH802 againH5750, though she is lovedH157 by anotherH74531 and is an adulteressH5003. Love herH160 as the LORDH3068 loves the IsraelitesH1121H3478, though theyH1992 turnH6437 toH413 otherH312 godsH430 and love to offerH157 raisin cakesH809H6025 to idols.2”
2So I bought herH3739 for fifteenH2568H6240 shekels of silverH37013 and a homerH2563 and a lethechH3963H8184 of barleyH8184.4 3Then I saidH559 to herH413, “You must liveH3427 with me for manyH7227 daysH3117; you must notH3808 be promiscuousH2181H3808 or belong toH1961 anotherH376, andH1571 IH589 will do the same for youH413.”
4ForH3588 the IsraelitesH1121H3478 must liveH3427 manyH7227 daysH3117 withoutH369 kingH4428 or princeH8269, withoutH369 sacrificeH2077 orH369 sacred pillarH4676H369, and withoutH369 ephodH646 or idolH8655. 5AfterwardH310, the peopleH1121 of IsraelH3478 will returnH7725 and seekH1245 the LORDH3068 their GodH430 and DavidH1732 their kingH4428. They will come tremblingH6342 toH413 the LORDH3068 and toH413 His goodnessH2898 in the lastH319 daysH3117.
