Hosea 8

Israel Reaps the Whirlwind

11Put the trumpetH7782 to your 2lipsH2441! 3Like an eagleH5404 the enemy comes 4againstH5921 the houseH1004 of the LordH3068, BecauseH3282 they have 5transgressedH5674 My covenantH1285 And rebelledH6586 againstH5921 My 6lawH8451.27They cryH2199 out to Me, “My GodH430, 8we of IsraelH3478 knowH3045 You!”3IsraelH3478 has rejectedH2186 the goodH2896; The enemyH340 will pursueH7291 him.49They have setH4427 up kingsH4427, but not by Me; They have appointedH8323 princesH8323, but I did not knowH3045 it. With their 10silverH3701 and goldH2091 they have madeH6213 idolsH6091 for themselves, That 11they might be cutH3772 offH3772.512He has rejectedH2186 your 13calfH5695, O SamariaH8111, saying, “My angerH639 burnsH2734 against them!” HowH4970 longH5704 will they be incapableH3808H3201 of 14innocenceH5356?6For from IsraelH3478 is even thisH1931! A 15craftsmanH2796 madeH6213 it, so it is not GodH430; SurelyH3588 the calfH5695 of SamariaH8111 will be brokenH7616 to 16piecesH7616.7For 17they sowH2232 the windH7307 And they reapH7114 the 18whirlwindH5492. The standingH7054 grainH7054 hasH369 noH369 19headsH6780; It yieldsH6213 20noH1097 21grainH7058. ShouldH194 it yieldH6213, strangersH2114 would swallowH1104 it up.

8IsraelH3478 is 22swallowedH1104 up; They are nowH6258 among the nationsH1471 Like a 23vesselH3627 in which noH369 oneH369 delightsH2656.9For they have goneH5927 up to 24AssyriaH804, Like 25a wildH6501 donkeyH6501 all aloneH909; EphraimH669 has 26hiredH8566 27loversH158.10EvenH1571 thoughH3588 they hireH8566 allies among the nationsH1471, NowH6258 I will 28gatherH6908 them up; And they will beginH2490 29to 30diminishH4592 BecauseH4480 of the burdenH4853 of the 31kingH4428 of princesH8269.

11SinceH3588 EphraimH669 has 32multipliedH7235 altarsH4196 for sinH2398, They have becomeH1961 altarsH4196 of sinningH2398 for him.12Though 33I wroteH3789 for him tenH7239 thousandH7239 precepts of My 34lawH8451, They are regardedH2803 as a strangeH2114 thingH2114.13As for My 35sacrificialH2077 giftsH1890, They 36sacrificeH2076 the fleshH1320 and eatH398 it, But the LordH3068 has takenH7521 noH3808 delightH7521 in them. NowH6258 He will 37rememberH2142 their iniquityH5771, And 38punishH6485 them for their sinsH2403; They will returnH7725 to 39EgyptH4714.14For IsraelH3478 has 40forgottenH7911 his MakerH6213 and 41builtH1129 palacesH1964; And JudahH3063 has multipliedH7235 fortifiedH1219 citiesH5892, But I will sendH7971 a 42fireH784 on its citiesH5892 that it may consumeH398 its palatialH759 dwellingsH759.
