2 Kings 16:1-9
1In the seventeenthH7651H6240 yearH8141 of PekahH6492 the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425, 1AhazH271 the sonH1121 of JothamH3147, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, becameH4427 kingH4427. 22AhazH271 was twentyH6242 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he becameH4427 kingH4427, and he reignedH4427 sixteenH8337H6240 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389; and he did not doH6213 whatH3477 was rightH3477 in the sightH5869 of the LordH3068 his GodH430, as his fatherH1 DavidH1732 had done. 3But he walkedH1980 in the wayH1870 of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478, 3and evenH1571 made his sonH1121 passH5674 through the fireH784, 4according to the abominationsH8441 of the nationsH1471 whomH834 the LordH3068 had 5drivenH3423 out from beforeH6440 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478. 4He 6sacrificedH2076 and burnedH6999 incenseH6999 on the highH1116 placesH1116 and on the hillsH1389 and underH8478 everyH3605 greenH7488 treeH6086.
5ThenH227 7RezinH7526 kingH4428 of AramH758 and PekahH6492 sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425, kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, cameH5927 up to JerusalemH3389 to wage warH4421; and they besiegedH6696H5921 AhazH271, 8but couldH3201 not 9overcomeH3898 him. 6At that timeH6256 RezinH7526 kingH4428 of AramH758 recoveredH7725 10ElathH365 for AramH758, and clearedH5394 the JudeansH3064 out of 11ElathH359 entirely; and the 12ArameansH130 cameH935 to ElathH365 and have livedH3427 thereH8033 to thisH2088 dayH3117.
713So AhazH271 sentH7971 messengersH4397 to 14Tiglath-pileserH8407 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, sayingH559, “I am your servantH5650 and your sonH1121; comeH5927 up and deliverH3467 me from the 15handH3709 of the kingH4428 of AramH758 and from the 16handH3709 of the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, who are risingH6965 up againstH5921 me.” 817AhazH271 tookH3947 the silverH3701 and goldH2091 that was foundH4672 in the houseH1004 of the LordH3068 and in the treasuriesH214 of the king’sH4428 houseH1004, and sentH7971 a presentH7810 to the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804. 918So the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 listenedH8085 to him; and the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 wentH5927 up againstH413 DamascusH1834 and 19capturedH8610 it, and carriedH1540 the people of it awayH1540 into exileH1540 to 20KirH7024, and putH4191 RezinH7526 to deathH4191.
