2 Kings 16:1-9
1In the seventeenthH7651H6240 yearH8141 of PekahH6492 the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425, 1AhazH271 the sonH1121 of JothamH3147, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, becameH4427 kingH4427. 22AhazH271 was twentyH6242 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he becameH4427 kingH4427, and he reignedH4427 for sixteenH8337H6240 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389; and he did not doH6213 whatH3477 wasH3477 rightH3477 in the sightH5869 of the LordH3068 his GodH430, as his fatherH1 DavidH1732 had done. 3But he walkedH1980 in the wayH1870 of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478, 3and he evenH1571 made his sonH1121 passH5674 through the fireH784, 4in accordance with the abominationsH8441 of the nationsH1471 whomH834 the LordH3068 had 5drivenH3423 outH3423 beforeH6440 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478. 4And he 6sacrificedH2076 and burnedH6999 incenseH6999 on the highH1116 placesH1116, on the hillsH1389, and underH8478 everyH3605 greenH7488 treeH6086.
5ThenH227 7RezinH7526 the kingH4428 of AramH758 and PekahH6492 the sonH1121 of RemaliahH7425, kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, wentH5927 upH5927 to JerusalemH3389 for warH4421; and they besiegedH6696H5921 AhazH271, 8but 9wereH3201 not capableH3201 of fightingH3898 him. 6At that timeH6256 RezinH7526 kingH4428 of AramH758 restoredH7725 10ElathH365 to AramH758, and droveH5394 the JudeansH3064 awayH5394 from 11ElathH359; and the 12ArameansH130 cameH935 to ElathH365 and have livedH3427 thereH8033 to thisH2088 dayH3117.
713So AhazH271 sentH7971 messengersH4397 to 14Tiglath-pileserH8407 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, sayingH559, “I am your servantH5650 and your sonH1121; comeH5927 upH5927 and saveH3467 me from the 15handH3709 of the kingH4428 of AramH758, and from the 16handH3709 of the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, who are risingH6965 upH6965 againstH5921 me.” 8And 17AhazH271 tookH3947 the silverH3701 and goldH2091 that was foundH4672 in the houseH1004 of the LordH3068 and in the treasuriesH214 of the king’sH4428 houseH1004, and sentH7971 a giftH7810 to the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804. 918So the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 listenedH8085 to him; and the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 wentH5927 upH5927 againstH413 DamascusH1834 and 19capturedH8610 it, and ledH1540 the people of it intoH1540 exileH1540 to 20KirH7024, and putH4191 RezinH7526 toH4191 deathH4191.
