2Ahazאָחָ֣ז'a.ChazH271wastwentyעֶשְׂרִ֤ים'es.RimH6242yearsשָׁנָה֙sha.NahH8141oldבֶּן־ben-H1121when he becameH4427kingבְּמָלְכ֔וֹbe.ma.le.KhoH4427,and he reignedמָלַ֖ךְma.LakhH4427sixteenוְשֵׁשׁ־ עֶשְׂרֵ֣הve.shesh- 'es.RehH8337H6240yearsשָׁנָ֔הsha.NahH8141in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑םbi.ru.sha.LimH3389;and he did not doעָשָׂ֣ה'a.SahH6213whatH3477was rightהַיָּשָׁ֗רhai.ya.SharH3477in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֛יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068his Godאֱלֹהָ֖יו'e.lo.HavH430,as his fatherאָבִֽיו׃'a.VivH1Davidכְּדָוִ֥דke.da.VidH1732had done.
3But he walkedוַיֵּ֕לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980in the wayבְּדֶ֖רֶךְbe.De.rekhH1870of the kingsמַלְכֵ֣יmal.KheiH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and evenוְגַ֤םve.GamH1571made his sonבְּנוֹ֙be.NoH1121passהֶעֱבִ֣ירhe.'e.VirH5674through the fireבָּאֵ֔שׁba.'EshH784,according to the abominationsכְּתֹֽעֲבוֹת֙ke.to.'a.VotH8441of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֔םha.go.YimH1471whomאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068haddrivenהוֹרִ֤ישׁho.RishH3423out from beforeמִפְּנֵ֖יmi.pe.NeiH6440the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.
5Thenאָ֣ז'azH227Rezinרְצִ֣יןre.TzinH7526kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Aramאֲ֠רָם'A.romH758and Pekahוּפֶ֨קַחu.Fe.kachH6492sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Remaliahרְמַלְיָ֧הוּre.mal.Ya.huH7425,kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478,cameיַעֲלֶ֣הya.'a.LehH5927up to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389to wagewarלַמִּלְחָמָ֑הla.mil.cha.MahH4421;and they besiegedוַיָּצֻ֙רוּ֙ עַל־vai.ya.Tzu.ru 'al-H6696H5921Ahazאָחָ֔ז'a.ChazH271,but couldיָכְל֖וּya.khe.LuH3201notovercomeלְהִלָּחֵֽם׃le.hi.la.ChemH3898him.
6At that timeבָּעֵ֣תba.'EtH6256Rezinרְצִ֨יןre.TzinH7526kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Aramאֲרָ֤ם'a.RamH758recoveredהֵ֠שִׁיבHe.shivH7725ElathH365for Aramלַֽאֲרָ֔םla.'a.RamH758,and clearedוַיְנַשֵּׁ֥לvay.na.ShelH5394the Judeansהַיְהוּדִ֖יםhay.hu.DimH3064out ofElathH359entirely; and theArameansוַֽאֲדוֹמִים֙va.'a.ra.mimH130cameבָּ֣אוּBa.'uH935to ElathH365and have livedוַיֵּ֣שְׁבוּvai.Ye.she.vuH3427thereשָׁ֔םShamH8033to thisהַזֶּֽה׃ פha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.
7So Ahazאָחָ֜ז'a.ChazH271sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֨חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֗יםmal.'a.KhimH4397toTiglath-pileserH8407kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁוּר֙'a.ShurH804,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “I am your servantעַבְדְּךָ֥'av.de.KhaH5650and your sonוּבִנְךָ֖u.vin.KhaH1121;comeעֲלֵ֨ה'a.LehH5927up and deliverוְהוֹשִׁעֵ֜נִיve.ho.shi.'E.niH3467me from thehandמִכַּ֣ףmi.KafH3709of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Aramאֲרָ֗ם'a.RamH758and from thehandוּמִכַּף֙u.mi.KafH3709of the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,who are risingהַקּוֹמִ֖יםha.ko.MimH6965up againstעָלָֽי׃'a.LaiH5921me.”
8Ahazאָחָ֜ז'a.ChazH271tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947the silverהַכֶּ֣סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701and goldהַזָּהָ֗בha.za.HavH2091that was foundהַנִּמְצָא֙ha.nim.Tza'H4672in the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068and in the treasuriesוּבְאֹֽצְר֖וֹתu.ve.'o.tze.RotH214of the king’sהַמֶּ֑לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004,and sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֥חvai.yish.LachH7971a presentשֹֽׁחַד׃Sho.chadH7810to the kingלְמֶֽלֶךְ־le.Me.lekh-H4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֖וּר'a.ShurH804.
9So the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֔וּר'a.ShurH804listenedוַיִּשְׁמַ֤עvai.yish.Ma'H8085to him; and the kingמֶ֨לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Assyriaאַשּׁ֤וּר'a.ShurH804wentוַיַּעַל֩vai.ya.'AlH5927up againstH413Damascusדַּמֶּ֙שֶׂק֙da.Me.sekH1834andcapturedוַֽיִּתְפְּשֶׂ֔הָvai.yit.pe.Se.haH8610it, and carriedH1540the people ofit awayH1540into exileוַיַּגְלֶ֖הָvai.yag.Le.haH1540toKirקִ֑ירָהKi.rahH7024,and putהֵמִֽית׃he.MitH4191Rezinרְצִ֖יןre.TzinH7526to deathH4191.
