2Theseאֵ֣לֶּה׀'E.lehH428are the records ofthe generationsתֹּלְד֣וֹתto.le.DotH8435of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֗בya.'a.KoH3290.Josephיוֹסֵ֞ףyo.SefH3130, whenseventeenשְׁבַֽע־ עֶשְׂרֵ֤הshe.va'- 'es.RehH7651 H6240yearsשָׁנָה֙sha.NahH8141of ageבֶּן־ben-H1121,was pasturingרֹעֶ֤הro.'EhH7462the flockבַּצֹּ֔אןba.TzonH6629with his brothersאֶחָיו֙'e.ChavH251while he was stilla youthנַ֗עַרNa.'arH5288, along withthe sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Bilhahבִלְהָ֛הvil.HahH1090and the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Zilpahזִלְפָּ֖הzil.PahH2153,his father’sאָבִ֑יו'a.VivH1wivesנְשֵׁ֣יne.SheiH802.And Josephיוֹסֵ֛ףyo.SefH3130broughtוַיָּבֵ֥אvai.ya.Ve'H935back abadרָעָ֖הra.'AhH1681 H7451reportדִּבָּתָ֥םdi.ba.TamH1681about them to their fatherאֲבִיהֶֽם׃'a.vi.HemH1.

3Now Israelוְיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478lovedאָהַ֤ב'a.HavH157Josephיוֹסֵף֙yo.SefH3130moreH4480thanH4480allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605his sonsבָּנָ֔יוba.NavH1121,becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588he wasthe sonבֶן־ven-H1121of his oldזְקֻנִ֥יםze.ku.NimH2208ageH2208;and he madeוְעָ֥שָׂהve.'A.sahH6213him avaricoloredפַּסִּֽים׃pa.SimH6446tunicכְּתֹ֥נֶתke.To.netH3801.

4His brothersאֶחָ֗יו'e.ChavH251sawוַיִּרְא֣וּvai.yir.'UH7200that their fatherאֲבִיהֶם֙'a.vi.HemH1lovedאָהַ֤ב'a.HavH157him moreH4480thanH4480allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605his brothersאֶחָ֔יו'e.ChavH251; and so theyhatedוַֽיִּשְׂנְא֖וּvai.yis.ne.'UH8130him and couldיָכְל֖וּya.khe.LuH3201not speakדַּבְּר֥וֹda.be.RoH1696to himon friendlyH7965termsH7965.

5Then Josephיוֹסֵף֙yo.SefH3130hadוַיַּחֲלֹ֤םvai.ya.cha.LomH2492a dreamחֲל֔וֹםcha.LomH2472,and when he toldוַיַּגֵּ֖דvai.ya.GedH5046it to his brothersלְאֶחָ֑יוle.'e.ChavH251,they hatedשְׂנֹ֥אse.No'H8130him evenH5750moreוַיּוֹסִ֥פוּvai.yo.Si.fuH3254 H5750.

6He saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them, “Pleaseנָ֕אna'H4994listenשִׁמְעוּ־shim.'u-H8085to thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088dreamהַחֲל֥וֹםha.cha.LomH2472whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I havehadחָלָֽמְתִּי׃cha.La.me.tiH2492;

7for beholdוְ֠הִנֵּהVe.hi.nehH2009,we were bindingמְאַלְּמִ֤יםme.'a.le.MimH481sheavesאֲלֻמִּים֙'a.lu.MimH485in the fieldהַשָּׂדֶ֔הha.sa.DehH7704,and loוְהִנֵּ֛הve.hi.NehH2009,my sheafאֲלֻמָּתִ֖י'a.lu.ma.TiH485roseקָ֥מָהKa.mahH6965up and alsoוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571stoodH5324erectH5324;and beholdוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009,your sheavesאֲלֻמֹּ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם'a.lu.Mo.tei.KhemH485gatheredH5437aroundH5437andbowedH7812downוַתִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֖יןָva.tish.ta.cha.Vei.naH7812to my sheafלַאֲלֻמָּתִֽי׃la.'a.lu.ma.TiH485.”

8Then his brothersאֶחָ֔יו'e.ChavH251saidוַיֹּ֤אמְרוּvai.Yo.me.ruH559to him, “Are you actuallyהֲמָלֹ֤ךְha.ma.LokhH4427going to reignתִּמְלֹךְ֙tim.loKhH4427overH5921us? Orאִם־'im-H518are you reallyמָשׁ֥וֹלma.SholH4910going to ruleתִּמְשֹׁ֖לtim.SholH4910over us?” So they hatedשְׂנֹ֣אse.No'H8130him evenH5750moreוַיּוֹסִ֤פוּvai.yo.Si.fuH3254 H5750for his dreamsחֲלֹמֹתָ֖יוcha.lo.mo.TavH2472and for his wordsדְּבָרָֽיו׃de.va.RavH1697.

9Now hehadוַיַּחֲלֹ֥םvai.ya.cha.LomH2492stillעוֹד֙'OdH5750anotherאַחֵ֔ר'a.CherH312dreamחֲל֣וֹםcha.LomH2472,and relatedוַיְסַפֵּ֥רvay.sa.PerH5608it to his brothersלְאֶחָ֑יוle.'e.ChavH251,and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Loהִנֵּ֨הhi.NehH2009, I havehadחָלַ֤מְתִּֽיcha.Lam.tiH2492stillע֔וֹדodH5750another dreamחֲלוֹם֙cha.lOmH2472;and beholdוְהִנֵּ֧הve.hi.NehH2009,the sunהַשֶּׁ֣מֶשׁha.She.meshH8121and the moonוְהַיָּרֵ֗חַve.hai.ya.Re.achH3394and elevenוְאַחַ֤ד עָשָׂר֙ve.'a.Chad 'a.SarH259 H6240starsכּֽוֹכָבִ֔יםko.kha.VimH3556were bowingH7812downמִֽשְׁתַּחֲוִ֖יםmish.ta.cha.VimH7812to me.”

10He relatedוַיְסַפֵּ֣רvay.sa.PerH5608itto his fatherאָבִיו֮'a.VivH1and to his brothersאֶחָיו֒'e.ChavH251;and his fatherאָבִ֔יו'a.VivH1rebukedוַיִּגְעַר־vai.yig.'ar-H1605him and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Whatמָ֛הmahH4100is thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088dreamהַחֲל֥וֹםha.cha.LomH2472that you havehadחָלָ֑מְתָּcha.La.me.taH2492?Shall I and your motherוְאִמְּךָ֣ve.'i.me.KhaH517andyour brothersוְאַחֶ֔יךָve.'a.Chei.khaH251actuallyהֲב֣וֹאha.Vo'H935comeנָב֗וֹאna.Vo'H935to bowלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹ֥תle.hish.ta.cha.VotH7812ourselves downH7812before you to the groundאָֽרְצָה׃'A.re.tzahH776?”

11His brothersאֶחָ֑יו'e.ChavH251were jealousוַיְקַנְאוּ־vay.kan.'u-H7065of him, but his fatherוְאָבִ֖יוve.'a.VivH1keptשָׁמַ֥רsha.MarH8104the sayingהַדָּבָֽר׃ha.da.VarH1697in mind.
