Lamentations 3:26-47
It is goodH2896 that one should both wait, and that in silence, for the salvationH8668 of Jehovah.
It is goodH2896 for a manH1397 that he bearH5375 the yokeH5923 in his youthH5271:
He sitteth solitary and keepeth silence, because he hath laid it upon him;
he putteth his mouthH6310 in the dustH6083, if so be there may be hopeH8615;
he giveth his cheekH3895 to him that smiteth him; he is filled full with reproachH2781.
For the LordH136 will not cast off for everH5769;
but if he have caused griefH3013, he will have compassionH7355 according to the multitudeH7230 of his loving-kindnesses:
for he doth not willingly afflictH6031 or grieve the children of menH376.
To crushH1792 under footH7272 all the prisonersH615 of the earthH776,
to turnH5186 asideH5186 the rightH4941 of a manH1397 before the faceH6440 of the Most High,
to wrong a manH120 in his causeH7379, — will not the LordH136 seeH7200 it?
Who is he that saith, and there cometh to pass, what the LordH136 hath not commandedH6680?
Out of the mouthH6310 of the Most High doth not there proceed evilH7451 and goodH2896?
Wherefore doth a living manH120 complainH596, a manH120 for the punishment of his sinsH2399?
Let us searchH2713 and try our waysH1870, and turnH7725 again to Jehovah.
Let us liftH5375 up our heartH3824 with [our] handsH3709 unto 1GodH410 in the heavensH8064.
We have transgressedH6586 and have rebelledH4784: thou hast not pardoned.
Thou hast covered thyself with angerH639, and pursuedH7291 us; thou hast slainH2026, thou hast not sparedH2550.
Thou hast covered thyself with a cloudH6051, that prayerH8605 should not passH5674 through.
Thou hast madeH7760 us the offscouring and refuse in the midstH7130 of the peoplesH5971.
All our enemiesH341 have openedH6475 their mouthH6310 against us.
FearH6343 and the pitH6354 areH1961 come upon us, devastation and ruinH7667.
