2 Chronicles 26:1-19

1AllH3605 the peopleH5971 of JudahH3063 tookH3947 UzziahH5818,1 whoH1931 was sixteenH8337H6240 years oldH1121H8141, and made him kingH4427 in place ofH8478 his fatherH1 AmaziahH558. 2Uzziah was the one who rebuiltH1129 ElothH3592 and restoredH7725 it to JudahH3063 afterH310 KingH4428 Amaziah3 restedH7901 withH5973 his fathersH1.

3UzziahH5818 was sixteenH8337H6240 years oldH1121H8141 when he became kingH4427, and he reignedH4427 in JerusalemH3389 fifty-twoH2572H8147 yearsH8141. His mother’sH517 nameH8034 was JecoliahH3203; she was fromH4480 JerusalemH3389. 4And he didH6213 what was rightH3477 in the eyesH5869 of the LORDH3068, just asH3605 his fatherH1 AmaziahH558 had doneH6213. 5He soughtH1875 GodH430 throughout the daysH3117 of ZechariahH2148, who instructed himH995 in the fearH72004 of GodH430. And as long asH3117 he soughtH1875 the LORDH3068, GodH430 gave him successH6743.

6Uzziah went outH3318 to wage warH3898 against the PhilistinesH6430, and he tore downH6555 the wallsH2346 of GathH1661, JabnehH2996, andH853 AshdodH795. Then he builtH1129 citiesH5892 near AshdodH795 and among the PhilistinesH6430. 7GodH430 helped himH5826 againstH5921 the PhilistinesH6430, againstH5921 the ArabsH6163 livingH3427 in Gur-baalH1485, and against the MeunitesH4586. 8The AmmonitesH5984 broughtH5414 tributeH4503 to UzziahH5818, and his fameH8034 spreadH1980 as farH5704 as the borderH935 of EgyptH4714, forH3588 he had becomeH5704 exceedinglyH4605 powerfulH2388.

9UzziahH5818 builtH1129 towersH4026 in JerusalemH3389 atH5921 the CornerH6438H5921 GateH8179, the ValleyH1516H5921 GateH8179, and the angle in the wallH4740, and he fortified themH2388. 10SinceH3588 he hadH1961 muchH7227 livestockH4735 in the foothillsH82195 and in the plainH4334, he builtH1129 towersH4026 in the desertH4057 and dugH2672 manyH7227 cisternsH953. And sinceH3588 he wasH1961 a loverH157 of the soilH127, he had farmersH406 and vinedressersH3755 in the hill countryH2022 and in the fertile fieldsH3759.

11UzziahH5818 hadH1961 an armyH2428 readyH6213 for battleH4421 that went outH3318 to warH6635 by assigned divisionsH1416H6486, as recordedH4557 byH3027 JeielH3273 the scribeH5608 and MaaseiahH4641 the officerH7860 underH5921 the directionH3027 of HananiahH2608, one of the royalH4428 officersH8269. 12The totalH3605 numberH4557 of familyH1 leadersH7218 of the mighty menH1368 of valorH2428 was 2,600H505H8337H3967. 13UnderH5921 their authorityH3027 was an armyH2428H6635 of 307,500H7969H3967H505H7651H2568 trainedH6213 for warH4421, a powerfulH3581 forceH2428 to supportH5826 the kingH4428 againstH5921 his enemiesH341.

14UzziahH5818 suppliedH3559 the entireH3605 armyH6635 with shieldsH4043, spearsH7420, helmetsH3553, armorH8302, bowsH7198, and slingstonesH68H7050. 15And in JerusalemH3389 he madeH6213 skillfullyH2803 designedH4284 devicesH2810 to shootH33846 arrowsH2671 and catapult largeH1419 stonesH68 from the towersH4026 andH5921 cornersH6438. So his fameH8034 spreadH3318 farH7350 and wide, forH3588 he was helpedH5826 tremendouslyH6381 untilH5704H3588 he became powerfulH2388.

16But when Uzziah became powerfulH2393, his arroganceH1361H3820 led to his own destructionH7843. He was unfaithfulH4603 to the LORDH3068 his GodH430, for he enteredH935H413 the templeH1964 of the LORDH3068 to burn incenseH6999 onH5921 the altarH4196 of incenseH7004.

17Then AzariahH5838 the priestH3548, along withH5973 eightyH8084H1121 braveH2428 priestsH3548 of the LORDH3068, went inH935 after himH310. 18They took their standH5975 againstH5921 KingH4428 UzziahH5818 and saidH559, “UzziahH5818, you have noH3808 right to offer incenseH6999 to the LORDH3068. OnlyH3588 the priestsH3548, the descendantsH1121 of AaronH175, are consecratedH6942 to burn incenseH6999. LeaveH3318 the sanctuaryH4720, forH3588 you have acted unfaithfullyH4603; you will notH3808 receive honorH3519 from the LORDH3068 GodH430.”

19UzziahH5818, with a censerH4730 in his handH3027 to offer incenseH6999, was enragedH2196. But while he ragedH2196 againstH5973 the priestsH3548 in their presenceH6440H3548 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 beforeH5921 the altarH4196 of incenseH7004, leprosyH68837 broke outH2224 on his foreheadH4696.
