2 Chronicles 3
(1 Kings 6:1–4)
1Then SolomonH8010 beganH2490 to buildH1129 the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 in JerusalemH3389 on MountH2022 MoriahH4179, whereH834 the LORD had appearedH72001 to his fatherH1 DavidH1732. This was the place thatH4725 DavidH1732 had preparedH3559 on the threshing floorH1637 of OrnanH7712 the JebusiteH2983. 2Solomon beganH2490 constructionH1129 on the secondH8145 day of the secondH8145 monthH2320 in the fourthH702 yearH8141 of his reignH4438.
The foundationH3245 that SolomonH8010 laidH1129 for the houseH1004 of GodH430 was sixtyH8346 cubitsH520 longH753 and twentyH6242 cubitsH520 wideH7341,3 according to the oldH7223 standardH4060.4 4The porticoH197 atH5921 the frontH6440H753, extending acrossH5921H6440 the widthH7341 of the templeH1004, was twentyH6242 cubitsH520 long5 and twentyH6242 cubits highH1363.6 He overlaidH6823 the insideH6441 with pureH2889 goldH2091.
The Temple’s Interior
(1 Kings 6:14–22)
He paneledH2645 the mainH1419 roomH1004 withH6086 cypressH1265,7 which he overlaidH2645 with fineH2896 goldH2091 and decoratedH5927H5921 with palm treesH8561 and chainsH8333. 6He adornedH6823 the templeH1004 with preciousH3368 stonesH68 for beautyH8597, and its goldH2091 was from ParvaimH6516. 7He overlaidH2645 its beamsH6982, thresholdsH5592, wallsH7023, and doorsH1817 with goldH2091, and he carvedH6605 cherubimH3742 onH5921 the wallsH7023.
8Then he madeH6213 the Most HolyH6944 PlaceH1004;8 its lengthH753 corresponded toH5921H6440 the widthH7341 of the templeH1004—twentyH6242 cubitsH520 long and twentyH6242 cubitsH520 wideH7341. And he overlaidH2645 the inside with sixH8337 hundredH3967 talentsH3603 of fineH2896 goldH2091.9 9The weightH4948 of the nailsH4548 was fiftyH2572 shekelsH8255 of goldH2091.10 He also overlaidH2645 the upper roomsH5944 with goldH2091.
The Cherubim
(1 Kings 6:23–30)
10In the Most HolyH6944 PlaceH1004 he madeH6213 twoH8147 cherubimH3742 of sculpturedH6816 workH4639, and he overlaidH6823 themH853 with goldH2091. 11The totalH753 wingspanH3671 of the cherubimH3742 was twentyH6242 cubitsH520. One wingH3671 of the firstH259 cherub was fiveH2568 cubitsH520 long11 and touchedH5060 the wallH7023 of the templeH1004, and its otherH312 wingH3671 was fiveH2568 cubitsH520 long and touchedH5060 the wingH3671 of the otherH312 cherubH3742. 12The wingH3671 of the secondH259 cherubH3742 also measured fiveH2568 cubitsH520 and touchedH5060 the wallH7023 of the templeH1004, while its otherH312 wingH3671 measured fiveH2568 cubitsH520 and touchedH1695 the wingH3671 of the firstH312 cherubH3742. 13So the total wingspanH3671H6566 of theseH428 cherubimH3742 was twentyH6242 cubitsH520. TheyH1992 stoodH5975 onH5921 their feetH7272, facingH6440 the main roomH1004.
The Veil and Pillars
(1 Kings 7:13–22)
14He madeH6213 the veilH6532 of blueH8504, purpleH713, and crimson yarnH3758 and fine linenH948, with cherubimH3742 wovenH5927 into itH5921.
15In frontH6440 of the templeH1004 he madeH6213 twoH8147 pillarsH5982, which together were thirty-fiveH7970H2568 cubitsH520 highH753,12 each with a capitalH6858 onH5921 topH7218 measuring fiveH2568 cubitsH520.
16He madeH6213 interwovenH1687 chainsH833313 and put themH5414 onH5921 topH7218 of the pillarsH5982. He madeH6213 a hundredH3967 pomegranatesH7416 and fastened themH5414 into the chainworkH8333. 17Then he set upH6965 the pillarsH5982 inH5921 frontH6440 of the templeH1964, oneH259 on the southH3225 and oneH259 on the northH8040. The pillar on the southH3227 he namedH7121H8034 JachinH3199,14 and the pillar on the northH8042 he namedH8034 BoazH1162.15
