2 Chronicles 24:20-23
20Then the SpiritH7307 of GodH430 came uponH3847 ZechariahH2148 sonH1121 of JehoiadaH3077 the priestH3548, who stood upH5975 beforeH5921 the peopleH5971 and saidH559 to them, “This is whatH3541 GodH430 saysH559: ‘WhyH4100 do youH859 transgressH5674 the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068 so that you cannotH3808 prosperH6743? BecauseH3588 you have forsakenH5800 the LORDH3068, He has forsakenH5800 youH853.’”
21But they conspiredH7194 against ZechariahH5921, and by orderH4687 of the kingH4428, they stoned himH7275H68 in the courtyardH2691 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068.
22Thus KingH4428 JoashH3101 failed toH3808 rememberH2142 the kindnessH2617 thatH834 Zechariah’s fatherH1 JehoiadaH3077 had extendedH6213 to himH5973. Instead, Joash killedH2026 Jehoiada’s sonH1121. As he lay dyingH4191, Zechariah saidH559, “May the LORDH3068 see thisH7200 and call you to accountH1875.”
In the springH8622H8141,1 the army of AramH758 went to warH5927 against JoashH5921H2428. They enteredH935H413 JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389 and destroyedH7843 allH3605 the leadersH8269 of the peopleH5971, and they sentH7971 allH3605 the plunderH7998 to their kingH4428 in DamascusH1834.
