37Pleaseנָ֤אna'H4994let your servantH5650returnיָֽשָׁב־ya.shov-H7725,that I may dieוְאָמֻ֣תve.'a.MutH4191in my own cityבְּעִירִ֔יbe.'i.RiH5892nearעִ֛ם'imH5973the tombקֶ֥בֶרKe.verH6913of my fatherאָבִ֖י'a.ViH1and motherוְאִמִּ֑יve.'i.MiH517.But hereוְהִנֵּ֣ה׀ve.hi.NehH2009is your servantH5650Chimhamכִמְהָ֗םkhim.HamH3643.Let him cross overH5674withעִם־'im-H5973my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113the kingH4428,and doוַעֲשֵׂה־va.'a.seh-H6213for himH853whatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834is goodט֖וֹבTovH2895in your sightבְּעֵינֶֽיךָ׃ סbe.'ei.Nei.khaH5869.”

38The kingH4428repliedוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “ChimhamH3643will cross overH5674with meאִתִּי֙'i.TiH854,and Iוַאֲנִי֙va.'a.NiH589will doH6213for himH853what is goodהַטּ֖וֹבha.TovH2896in your sightH5869,and I will doH6213for youwhateverוְכֹ֛לve.KholH3605H834you desireתִּבְחַ֥רtiv.CharH977of meעָלַ֖י'a.LaiH5921.”

39So allH3605the peopleהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971H853crossedH5674the Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֖ןhai.yar.DenH3383,and then the kingH4428crossed overH5674.The kingH4428kissedוַיִּשַּׁ֨קvai.yi.ShakH5401Barzillaiלְבַרְזִלַּי֙le.var.zi.LaiH1271and blessed himוַיְבָ֣רֲכֵ֔הוּvay.Va.ra.Khe.huH1288,and Barzillai returnedוַיָּ֖שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725homeלִמְקֹמֽוֹ׃ סlim.ko.MoH4725.

40Then the kingH4428crossed overH5674to Gilgalהַגִּלְגָּ֔לָהha.gil.Ga.lahH1537,and Chimhamוְכִמְהָ֖ןve.khim.HanH3643crossed overH5674with himעִמּ֑וֹi.MoH5973.AllH3605the troopsH5971of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063 H5674H853andוְגַ֕םve.GamH1571halfחֲצִ֖יcha.TziH2677the troopsH5971of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478escorted the kingH4428.
