11And as theyהֵ֗מָּהHe.mahH1992were climbingעֹלִים֙'o.LimH5927the hillבְּמַעֲלֵ֣הbe.ma.'a.LehH4608to the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892,theyוְהֵ֙מָּה֙ve.He.mahH1992metמָצְא֣וּma.tze.'UH4672some young womenנְעָר֔וֹתne.'a.RotH5291coming outיֹצְא֖וֹתyo.tze.'otH3318to drawלִשְׁאֹ֣בlish.'OH7579waterמָ֑יִםMa.yimH4325and askedוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “Isהֲיֵ֥שׁha.YeshH3426the seer hereבָּזֶ֖ה הָרֹאֶֽה׃ba.Zeh ha.ro.'EhH7203 H2088?”

12“Yesהִנֵּ֣הhi.NehH2009,he isיֵּ֖שׁyeshH3426ahead of youלְפָנֶ֑יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440,”they answeredוַתַּעֲנֶ֧ינָהva.ta.'a.Nei.nahH6030אוֹתָ֛ם'o.TamH853וַתֹּאמַ֥רְנָהva.to.Mar.nahH559. “Hurryמַהֵ֣ר׀ma.HerH4116nowעַתָּ֗ה'a.TahH6258,forכִּ֤יkiH3588todayהַיּוֹם֙hai.yOmH3117he has comeבָּ֣אba'H935to the cityלָעִ֔ירla.'IrH5892becauseכִּ֣יkiH3588the people haveלָעָ֖םla.'AmH5971a sacrificeזֶ֧בַחZe.vachH2077on the high placeבַּבָּמָֽה׃ba.ba.MahH1116הַיּ֛וֹםhai.YomH3117.

13As soon as you enterכְּבֹאֲכֶ֣םke.vo.'a.KhemH935the cityהָעִ֣ירha.'IrH5892,you will findכֵּ֣ן תִּמְצְא֣וּןken tim.tze.'UnH3651 H4672himאֹת֡וֹ'o.ToH853beforeבְּטֶרֶם֩be.te.RemH2962he goes upיַעֲלֶ֨הya.'a.LehH5927to the high placeהַבָּמָ֜תָהha.ba.Ma.tahH1116to eatלֶאֱכֹ֗לle.'e.KholH398כִּ֠יkiH3588.The peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971will notלֹֽא־lo'-H3808eatיֹאכַ֤לyo.KhalH398untilעַד־'ad-H5704he comesבֹּא֔וֹbo.'OH935,becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588heהוּא֙hu'H1931must blessיְבָרֵ֣ךְye.va.RekhH1288the sacrificeהַזֶּ֔בַחha.Ze.vachH2077;after thatאַחֲרֵי־ כֵ֖ן'a.cha.rei- khenH310 H3651,the guestsהַקְּרֻאִ֑ים וְעַתָּ֣הha.ke.ru.'Im ve.'a.TahH7121 H6258will eatיֹאכְל֣וּyo.khe.LuH398.Go upעֲל֔וּ כִּֽי־'a.Lu ki-H5927 H3588אֹת֥וֹ'o.ToH853at onceכְהַיּ֖וֹםkhe.hai.YomH3117;you will findתִּמְצְא֥וּןtim.tze.'UnH4672himאֹתֽוֹ׃'o.ToH853.”

14So Saul and his servant went upוַֽיַּעֲל֖וּvai.ya.'a.LuH5927toward the cityהָעִ֑ירha.'IrH5892,and as theyהֵ֗מָּהHe.mahH1992were enteringבָּאִים֙ בְּת֣וֹךְba.'Im be.TokhH935 H8432itהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892,there wasוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009Samuelשְׁמוּאֵל֙she.mu.'ElH8050comingיֹצֵ֣אyo.Tze'H3318toward themלִקְרָאתָ֔םlik.ra.TamH7122on his way upלַעֲל֖וֹתla.'a.LotH5927to the high placeהַבָּמָֽה׃ סha.ba.MahH1116.

15Now on the dayי֣וֹם אֶחָ֔דYom 'e.ChadH3117 H259beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440Saul’sשָׁא֖וּל לֵאמֹֽר׃sha.'Ul le.MorH7586 H559arrivalבֽוֹא־Vo'-H935,the LORDוַֽיהוָ֔הva.Yah.wehH3068had revealedגָּלָ֖הga.LahH1540אֶת־'et-H853אֹ֣זֶן'O.zenH241to Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֑לshe.mu.'ElH8050,

17When Samuelוּשְׁמוּאֵ֖לu.she.mu.'ElH8050sawרָאָ֣הra.'AhH7200אֶת־'et-H853Saulשָׁא֑וּלsha.'UlH7586,the LORDוַיהוָ֣הva.Yah.wehH3068told himעָנָ֔הוּ'a.Na.huH6030, “Hereהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009is the manהָאִישׁ֙ha.'IshH376of whomאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I spokeאָמַ֣רְתִּי אֵלֶ֔יךָ'a.Mar.ti 'e.Lei.khaH559 H413;heזֶ֖הzehH2088shall ruleיַעְצֹ֥רya'.TzorH6113over My peopleבְּעַמִּֽי׃be.'a.MiH5971.”

18Saulשָׁא֛וּלsha.'UlH7586אֶת־'et-H853approachedוַיִּגַּ֥שׁvai.yi.GashH5066Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050inבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the gatewayהַשָּׁ֑עַרha.Sha.'arH8179and askedוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Would you pleaseנָּ֣אna'H4994tellהַגִּֽידָה־ha.gi.dah-H5046mewhereאֵי־'ei-H335זֶ֖הzehH2088the seer’sהָרֹאֶֽה׃ha.ro.'EhH7203houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004is?”

19“Iאָנֹכִ֣י'a.no.KhiH595am the seerהָרֹאֶ֔הha.ro.'EhH7203,”Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֜לshe.mu.'ElH8050אֶת־'et-H853שָׁא֗וּלsha.'UlH7586וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559repliedוַיַּ֨עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030. “Go upעֲלֵ֤ה'a.LehH5927before meלְפָנַי֙le.fa.NaiH6440to the high placeהַבָּמָ֔הha.ba.MahH1116,for you shall eatוַאֲכַלְתֶּ֥םva.'a.khal.TemH398with meעִמִּ֖י'i.MiH5973todayהַיּ֑וֹםhai.YomH3117.And when I send you offוְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֣יךָve.shi.lach.Ti.khaH7971in the morningבַבֹּ֔קֶרva.Bo.kerH1242,I will tellאַגִּ֥יד'a.GidH5046youallוְכֹ֛לve.KholH3605that isאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834in your heartבִּֽלְבָבְךָ֖bil.va.ve.KhaH3824.

22Then Samuelשְׁמוּאֵל֙she.mu.'ElH8050אֶת־'et-H853tookוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947Saulשָׁא֣וּלsha.'UlH7586andוְאֶֽת־ve.'EtH853his servantנַעֲר֔וֹna.'a.RoH5288,brought themוַיְבִיאֵ֖םvay.vi.'EmH935into the hallלִשְׁכָּ֑תָהlish.Ka.tahH3957,and seatedוַיִּתֵּ֨ןvai.yi.TenH5414themin the placeמָקוֹם֙ma.kOmH4725of honorבְּרֹ֣אשׁbe.RoshH7218among those who were invitedהַקְּרוּאִ֔ים וְהֵ֖מָּהha.ke.ru.'Im ve.He.mahH7121 H1992—about thirtyכִּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥יםkish.lo.ShimH7970in allאִֽישׁ׃'IshH376.

23And Samuelשְׁמוּאֵל֙she.mu.'ElH8050saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the cookלַטַּבָּ֔חla.ta.BachH2876, “Bringתְּנָה֙te.NahH5414אֶת־'et-H853the portionהַמָּנָ֔הha.ma.NahH4490אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I gaveנָתַ֖תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414youאֲשֶׁר֙'a.SherH834and toldאָמַ֣רְתִּי אֵלֶ֔יךָ'a.Mar.ti 'e.Lei.khaH559 H413you to setשִׂ֥יםsimH7760אֹתָ֖הּ'o.TahH853asideעִמָּֽךְ׃'i.MakhH5973.”

24So the cookהַ֠טַּבָּחHa.ta.bochH2876אֶת־'et-H853picked upוַיָּ֣רֶםvai.Ya.remH7311the legהַשּׁ֨וֹקha.ShokH7785and what was attached to itוְהֶעָלֶ֜יהָve.he.'a.Lei.haH5921and setוַיָּ֣שֶׂם׀vai.Ya.semH7760itbeforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Saulשָׁא֗וּלsha.'UlH7586.Then Samuel saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Here isהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009what was kept backהַנִּשְׁאָר֙ha.nish.'ArH7604.
