9But afterאַחֲרֵ֣י׀'a.cha.ReiH310they had movedהֵסַ֣בּוּhe.Sa.buH5437the ark to Gathוַיְהִ֞י אֹת֗וֹvay.Hi 'o.ToH853 H1961,the LORD’sיְהוָ֤ה׀Yah.wehH3068handיַד־yad-H3027was alsoוַתְּהִ֨יva.te.HiH1961against that cityבָּעִיר֙ba.'IrH5892,throwing it into great confusionמְהוּמָה֙ גְּדוֹלָ֣ה מְאֹ֔דme.hu.Mah ge.do.Lah me.'OdH4103 H1419 H3966and afflictingוַיַּךְ֙vai.yaKhH5221אֶת־'et-H853the menאַנְשֵׁ֣י'an.SheiH582of the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892,both youngמִקָּטֹ֖ןmi.ka.TonH6996andוְעַד־ve.'ad-H5704oldגָּד֑וֹלga.DolH1419,with an outbreakוַיִּשָּׂתְר֥וּvai.yi.sa.te.RuH8368of tumorsH6076.

10So they sentוַֽיְשַׁלְּח֛וּvay.sha.le.ChuH7971אֶת־'et-H853the arkאֲר֥וֹן'a.RonH727of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430to Ekronעֶקְר֑וֹן וַיְהִ֗יek.Ron vay.HiH6138 H1961,but as itאֲר֤וֹן הָאֱלֹהִים֙'a.Ron ha.'E.lo.HimH727 H430arrivedכְּב֨וֹאke.Vo'H935עֶקְר֔וֹןek.RonH6138,the Ekronitesהָֽעֶקְרֹנִ֜ים לֵאמֹ֗רha.'ek.ro.Nim le.MorH6139 H559cried outוַיִּזְעֲק֨וּvai.yiz.'a.KuH2199, “They have broughtהֵסַ֤בּוּhe.Sa.buH5437usאֵלַי֙'e.LaiH413the arkאֲרוֹן֙'a.rOnH727of the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478אֶת־'et-H853in order to kill usלַהֲמִיתֵ֖נִיla.ha.mi.Te.niH4191andוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853our peopleעַמִּֽי׃'a.MiH5971!”

11Then the Ekronites called togetherוַיִּשְׁלְח֨וּ וַיַּאַסְפ֜וּvai.yish.le.Chu vai.ya.'as.FuH7971 H622allכָּל־kol-H3605the rulersסַרְנֵ֣יsar.NeiH5633of the Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֗יםfe.lish.TimH6430אֶת־'et-H853and saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “Send awayשַׁלְּח֞וּsha.le.ChuH7971אֶת־'et-H853the arkאֲר֨וֹן'a.RonH727of the Godאֱלֹהֵ֤י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478.It must returnוְיָשֹׁ֣בve.ya.ShoH7725to its placeלִמְקֹמ֔וֹlim.ko.MoH4725,so that it will notוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808killיָמִ֥יתya.MitH4191usאֹתִ֖י'o.TiH853וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and our peopleעַמִּ֑י'a.MiH5971!”Forכִּֽי־ki-H3588a deadlyמָ֙וֶת֙ma.vetH4194confusionמְהֽוּמַת־me.hu.mat-H4103had pervadedהָיְתָ֤ה בְּכָל־ha.ye.Tah be.kholH1961 H3605the cityהָעִ֔ירha.'IrH5892;the handיַ֥דyadH3027of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430was veryמְאֹ֛דme.'OdH3966heavyכָּבְדָ֥הka.ve.DahH3513upon itשָֽׁם׃ShamH8033.

12Thoseוְהָֽאֲנָשִׁים֙ve.ha.'a.na.ShimH582whoאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834did notלֹא־lo'-H3808dieמֵ֔תוּMe.tuH4191were afflictedהֻכּ֖וּhu.KuH5221with tumorsH6076,and the outcryשַֽׁוְעַ֥תshav.'AtH7775of the cityהָעִ֖ירha.'IrH5892went upוַתַּ֛עַלva.Ta.'alH5927to heavenהַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064.
