3Now by this time Samuelוּשְׁמוּאֵ֣לu.she.mu.'ElH8050had diedמֵ֔תMetH4191,and allכָּל־kol-H3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478had mournedוַיִּסְפְּדוּ־vai.yis.pe.du-H5594for himand buried himוַיִּקְבְּרֻ֥הוּvai.yik.be.Ru.huH6912in Ramahבָרָמָ֖הva.ra.MahH7414,his own cityוּבְעִיר֑וֹu.ve.'i.RoH5892.And Saulוְשָׁא֗וּלve.sha.'UlH7586had removedהֵסִ֛ירhe.SirH5493the mediumsהָאֹב֥וֹתha.'o.VotH178וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and spiritistsהַיִּדְּעֹנִ֖יםhai.yi.de.'o.NimH3049from the landמֵהָאָֽרֶץ׃me.ha.'A.retzH776.
4The Philistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַיָּבֹ֖אוּfe.lish.Tim vai.ya.Vo.'uH6430H935gathered togetherוַיִּקָּבְצ֣וּvai.yi.ka.ve.TzuH6908and campedוַיַּחֲנ֣וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583at Shunemבְשׁוּנֵ֑םve.shu.NemH7766,while Saulשָׁאוּל֙sha.'UlH7586אֶת־'et-H853gatheredוַיִּקְבֹּ֤ץvai.yik.BotzH6908allכָּל־kol-H3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478and campedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583at Gilboaבַּגִּלְבֹּֽעַ׃ba.gil.Bo.a'H1533.
6He inquiredוַיִּשְׁאַ֤ל שָׁאוּל֙vai.yish.'Al sha.'UlH7592H7586of the LORDבַּֽיהוָ֔הba.Yah.wehH3068,but the LORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068did notוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808answer himעָנָ֖הוּ'a.Na.huH6030by dreamsבַּחֲלֹמ֛וֹתba.cha.lo.MotH2472orגַּ֧םgamH1571Urimגַּ֥ם בָּאוּרִ֖יםgam ba.'u.RimH224H1571orגַּ֥םgamH1571prophetsבַּנְּבִיאִֽם׃ba.ne.vi.'ImH5030.
7Then Saulשָׁא֜וּלsha.'UlH7586saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to his servantsלַעֲבָדָ֗יוla.'a.va.DavH5650, “Findבַּקְּשׁוּ־ba.ke.shu-H1245mea womanאֵ֣שֶׁת'E.shetH802who isבַּעֲלַת־ba.'a.lat-H1172a mediumא֔וֹב'ovH178,so I can goוְאֵלְכָ֥ה אֵלֶ֖יהָve.'e.le.Khah 'e.Lei.haH1980H413and consultוְאֶדְרְשָׁה־ve.'ed.re.shah-H1875her.” “Thereהִנֵּ֛הhi.NehH2009isa mediumאֵ֥שֶׁת בַּֽעֲלַת־ א֖וֹב'E.shet ba.'a.lat- 'ovH802H1172H178at EndorH5874,”his servantsעֲבָדָיו֙ אֵלָ֔יו'a.va.Dav 'e.LavH5650H413repliedוַיֹּאמְר֤וּvai.yo.me.RuH559.
8So Saulשָׁא֗וּלsha.'UlH7586disguised himselfוַיִּתְחַפֵּ֣שׂvai.yit.cha.PesH2664by putting onוַיִּלְבַּשׁ֙vai.yil.BashH3847differentאֲחֵרִ֔ים'a.che.RimH312clothesבְּגָדִ֣יםbe.ga.DimH899,and he set outוַיֵּ֣לֶךְ ה֗וּאvai.Ye.lekh Hu'H1980H1931withעִמּ֔וֹi.MoH5973twoוּשְׁנֵ֤יu.she.NeiH8147of his menאֲנָשִׁים֙'a.na.ShimH582.They cameוַיָּבֹ֥אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935toאֶל־'el-H413the womanהָאִשָּׁ֖הha.'i.ShahH802at nightלָ֑יְלָהLa.ye.lahH3915,and Saul saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Consultקָֽסֳמִי נָ֥אka.so.mi- na'H7080H4994a spiritבָּא֔וֹבba.'ovH178for me.Bring upוְהַ֣עֲלִיve.Ha.'a.liH5927for meאֵ֥ת'etH853the oneאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I nameאֹמַ֖ר אֵלָֽיִךְ׃'o.Mar 'e.La.yikhH559H413.”
