James 4:4-10
4Ye adulteressesG3428, know ye not that the friendship of the worldG2889 isG1510 enmity with GodG2316? Whosoever thereforeG3767 would beG1510 a friendG5384 of the worldG2889 maketh himself an enemyG2190 of GodG2316. 5Or thinkG1380 ye that the scriptureG1124 speaketh in vain? Doth the spiritG4151 which he made to dwellG2730 in us longG1971 unto envyingG5355? 6But he giveth more graceG5485. Wherefore the scripture saith, GodG2316 resisteth the proud, but giveth graceG5485 to the humbleG5011. 7Be subjectG5293 thereforeG3767 unto GodG2316; but resistG436 the devilG1228, and he will fleeG5343 from you. 8DrawG1448 nigh to GodG2316, and he will drawG1448 nigh to you. CleanseG2511 your handsG5495, ye sinnersG268; and purifyG48 your heartsG2588, ye doubleminded. 9Be afflicted, and mournG3996, and weepG2799: let your laughter be turned to mourningG3997, and your joyG5479 to heaviness. 10HumbleG5013 yourselvesG4771 in the sight of the LordG2962, and he shall exaltG5312 you.
