James 4:4-10

4You 1adulteressesG3428, do you not knowG3609 that friendshipG5373 with 2the worldG2889 is 3hostilityG2189 toward GodG2316? 4ThereforeG3767 whoeverG3739G1437 wantsG1014 to be a friendG5384 of the worldG2889 makesG2525 himself an enemyG2190 of GodG2316. 5OrG2228 do you thinkG1380 that the ScriptureG1124 5saysG3004 toG2761 noG2761 purposeG2761, “6He 7jealouslyG5355 desiresG1971 8the SpiritG4151 whomG3739 He has madeG2733 toG2733 dwellG2733 in us”? 6But 9He givesG1325 a greaterG3173 graceG5485. ThereforeG1352 it saysG3004, “10GodG2316 is opposedG498 to the proudG5244, but givesG1325 graceG5485 to the humbleG5011.” 711SubmitG5293 thereforeG3767 to GodG2316. But 1213resistG436 the devilG1228, and he will fleeG5343 from you. 814ComeG1448 closeG1448 to GodG2316 and He will comeG1448 closeG1448 to you. 15CleanseG2511 your handsG5495, you sinnersG268; and 16purifyG48 your heartsG2588, you 1718double-mindedG1374. 919Be miserableG5003, and mournG3996, and weepG2799; let your laughterG1071 be turnedG3346 into mourningG3997, and your joyG5479 into gloomG2726. 1020HumbleG5013 yourselves inG1799 theG1799 presenceG1799 ofG1799 the LordG2962, and He will exaltG5312 you.
