15And if it seem evilרַ֨עra'H7489unto youמִ֣יmiH4310to serveלַעֲבֹ֣דla.'a.VodH5647Yhwhיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,chooseבַּחֲר֨וּba.cha.RuH977you this dayהַיּוֹם֮hai.yOmH3117whomבְּֽעֵינֵיכֶ֜םbe.'ei.nei.KhemH5869ye will serveתַעֲבֹדוּן֒ta.'a.vo.DunH5647;whether the godsאֱלֹהִ֞ים'E.lo.HimH430which your fathersאֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֗ם'a.vo.tei.KhemH1servedעָבְד֣וּ'a.ve.DuH5647that wereon the other sideמֵעֵ֣בֶרme.'e.verH5676of the Riverהַנָּהָ֔רha.na.HarH5104,or the godsאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֔יha.'e.mo.RiH567,in whose landבְּאַרְצָ֑םbe.'ar.TzamH776ye dwellיֹשְׁבִ֣יםyo.she.VimH3427:but as for me and my houseוּבֵיתִ֔יu.vei.TiH1004,we will serveנַעֲבֹ֖דna.'a.VodH5647Yhwhיְהוָֽה׃ פYah.wehH3068.

16And the peopleהָעָם֙ha.'AmH5971answeredוַיַּ֤עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּ֔אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,God forbidחָלִ֣ילָהcha.Li.lahH2486that we should forsakeמֵעֲזֹ֖בme.'a.ZoH5800Yhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,to serveלַעֲבֹ֖דla.'a.VodH5647otherאֲחֵרִֽים׃'a.che.RimH312godsאֱלֹהִ֥ים'E.lo.HimH430;

17For Yhwhיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068our Godאֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ'e.lo.Hei.nuH430, he it isthat brought us upהַמַּעֲלֶ֨הha.ma.'a.LehH5927and our fathersאֲבוֹתֵ֛ינוּ'a.vo.Tei.nuH1out of the landמֵאֶ֥רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֖יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,from the houseמִבֵּ֣יתmi.BeitH1004of bondageעֲבָדִ֑ים'a.va.DimH5650,and which didעָשָׂ֣ה'a.SahH6213those greatהַגְּדֹלוֹת֙ha.ge.do.lOtH1419signsהָאֹת֤וֹתha.'o.TotH226in our sightלְעֵינֵ֗ינוּle.'ei.Nei.nuH5869,and preservedוַֽיִּשְׁמְרֵ֗נוּvai.yish.me.Re.nuH8104us in all the wayהַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ha.De.rekhH1870wherein we wentהָלַ֣כְנוּha.Lakh.nuH1980,and among all the peopleהָֽעַמִּ֔יםha.'a.MimH5971throughבְּקִרְבָּֽם׃be.kir.BamH7130whom we passedעָבַ֖רְנוּ'a.Var.nuH5674:

18And Yhwhיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068drave outוַיְגָ֨רֶשׁvay.Ga.reshH1644from beforeמִפָּנֵ֑ינוּmi.pa.Nei.nuH6440us all the peopleהָעַמִּ֗יםha.'a.MimH5971,even the Amoritesהָאֱמֹרִ֛יha.'e.mo.RiH567which dweltיֹשֵׁ֥בyo.ShevH3427in the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776: thereforewill we also serveנַעֲבֹ֣דna.'a.VodH5647Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068; for he isour Godאֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ ס'e.lo.Hei.nuH430.

19And Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the peopleהָעָ֗םha.'AmH5971,Ye cannotתֽוּכְלוּ֙tu.khe.LuH3201serveלַעֲבֹ֣דla.'a.VodH5647Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068: for he isan holyקְדֹשִׁ֖יםke.do.ShimH6918Godאֱלֹהִ֥ים'E.lo.HimH430; he isa jealousקַנּ֣וֹאka.No'H7072Godאֵֽל־'el-H410;he will not forgiveיִשָּׂ֥אyi.Sa'H5375your transgressionsלְפִשְׁעֲכֶ֖םle.fish.'a.KhemH6588nor your sinsוּלְחַטֹּאותֵיכֶֽם׃u.le.cha.to.tei.KhemH2403.

20If ye forsakeתַֽעַזְבוּ֙ta.'az.VuH5800Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and serveוַעֲבַדְתֶּ֖םva.'a.vad.TemH5647strangeנֵכָ֑רne.KharH5236godsאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430,then he will turnוְשָׁ֨בve.ShavH7725and do you hurtוְהֵרַ֤עve.he.Ra'H7489,and consumeוְכִלָּ֣הve.khi.LahH3615you, afterאַחֲרֵ֖י'a.cha.ReiH310that he hath done you goodהֵיטִ֥יבhei.TivH3190.

21And the peopleהָעָ֖םha.'AmH5971saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091,Nay; but we will serveנַעֲבֹֽד׃na.'a.VodH5647Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068.

22And Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַye.ho.Shu.a'H3091saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the peopleהָעָ֗םha.'AmH5971, Ye arewitnessesעֵדִ֤ים'e.DimH5707against yourselves that ye have chosenבְּחַרְתֶּ֥םbe.char.TemH977you Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,to serveלַעֲבֹ֣דla.'a.VodH5647him. And they saidוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, We arewitnessesעֵדִֽים׃'e.DimH5707.
