1Now it cameH1961aboutH1961,whenכִּי־ki-H3588the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428livedיָשַׁ֥בya.ShavH3427in his houseבְּבֵית֑וֹbe.vei.ToH1004,and the Lordוַיהוָ֛הva.Yah.wehH3068had givenH5117him restהֵנִֽיחַ־he.ni.ach-H5117on everyH5439sideH5439from allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605his enemiesH340,

2that the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toNathanנָתָ֣ןna.TanH5416the prophetהַנָּבִ֔יאha.na.Vi'H5030, “Seeרְאֵ֣הre.'EhH7200nowנָ֔אNa'H4994,I liveיוֹשֵׁ֖בyo.ShevH3427ina houseבְּבֵ֣יתbe.VeitH1004of cedarאֲרָזִ֑ים'a.ra.ZimH730,but the arkוַֽאֲרוֹן֙va.'a.rOnH727of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430remainsיֹשֵׁ֖בyo.ShevH3427withinבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432the tentהַיְרִיעָֽה׃hay.ri.'AhH3407.”

3Nathanנָתָן֙na.TanH5416saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, “Goלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980,doעֲשֵׂ֑ה'a.SehH6213allכֹּ֛לkolH3605that is in your mindבִּֽלְבָבְךָ֖bil.va.ve.KhaH3824,for the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068is with you.”

4But in the sameהַה֑וּאha.Hu'H1931nightבַּלַּ֣יְלָהba.Lay.lahH3915,the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068cameH1961to Nathanנָתָ֖ןna.TanH5416,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

5“Goלֵ֤ךְlekhH1980and sayוְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ve.'a.mar.TaH559to My servantעַבְדִּ֣י'av.DiH5650Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732, ‘ThisH3541isH3541whatH3541the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559: “Should you buildתִּבְנֶה־tiv.neh-H1129Me a houseבַ֖יִתVa.yitH1004for My dwellingלְשִׁבְתִּֽי׃le.shiv.TiH3427?
