21When Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֔אba'.Sha'H1201heardכִּשְׁמֹ֣עַkish.Mo.a'H8085about it,he stoppedוַיֶּחְדַּ֕לvai.yech.DalH2308fortifyingמִבְּנ֖וֹתmi.be.NotH1129Ramahהָֽרָמָ֑הha.ra.MahH7414and remainedוַיֵּ֖שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427inTirzahבְּתִרְצָֽה׃be.tir.TzahH8656.

22Then Kingוְהַמֶּ֨לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֜א'a.Sa'H609madeH8085aH8085proclamationH8085to allכָּל־kol-H3605Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063--noH369oneH369was exemptנָקִ֔יna.KiH5355--and they carriedוַיִּשְׂא֞וּvai.yis.'UH5375away the stonesאַבְנֵ֤י'av.NeiH68of Ramahהָֽרָמָה֙ha.ra.MahH7414and its timberעֵצֶ֔יהָ'e.Tzei.haH6086with whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֑אba'.Sha'H1201had builtבָּנָ֖הba.NahH1129fortifications.And Kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֔א'a.Sa'H609builtוַיִּ֤בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129with themGebaגֶּ֥בַעGe.va'H1387of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֖ןbin.ya.MinH1144and Mizpahהַמִּצְפָּֽה׃ha.mitz.PahH4709.

24And Asaאָסָא֙'a.Sa'H609layH7901downוַיִּשְׁכַּ֤בvai.yish.KavH7901with his fathersאֲבֹתָ֔יו'a.vo.TavH1and was buriedוַיִּקָּבֵר֙vai.yi.ka.VerH6912with his fathersאֲבֹתָ֔יו'a.vo.TavH1in the cityבְּעִ֖ירbe.'IrH5892of his fatherאָבִ֑יו'a.VivH1Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732;and his sonבְּנ֖וֹbe.NoH1121Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֥טye.ho.sha.FatH3092reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427inH8478his placeתַּחְתָּֽיו׃ פtach.TavH8478.

25NowNadabוְנָדָ֣בve.na.DavH5070the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֗םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379becameH4427kingמָלַךְ֙ma.laKhH4427overעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478in the secondH8147yearבִּשְׁנַ֣תbish.NatH8141of Asaלְאָסָ֖אle.'a.Sa'H609kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,and he reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֥ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427overעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478for twoשְׁתַּ֔יִםshe.Ta.yimH8147yearsשְׁנָתָֽיִם׃she.na.Ta.yimH8141.

26He didוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213evilהָרַ֖עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068, andwalkedוַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙vai.Ye.lekhH1980in the wayבְּדֶ֣רֶךְbe.De.rekhH1870of his fatherאָבִ֔יו'a.VivH1andin his sinוּ֨בְחַטָּאת֔וֹu.ve.cha.ta.ToH2403into whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834he misledהֶחֱטִ֖יאhe.che.Ti'H2398Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

27ThenBaashaבַּעְשָׁ֤אba'.Sha'H1201the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Ahijahאֲחִיָּה֙'a.chi.YahH281of the houseלְבֵ֣יתle.VeitH1004of Issacharיִשָּׂשכָ֔רyi.so.sh.KharH3485conspiredוַיִּקְשֹׁ֨רvai.yik.ShorH7194againstH5921him, and Baashaבַעְשָׁ֔אva'.Sha'H1201struckH5221andH5221killedH5221him atGibbethonבְּגִבְּת֖וֹןbe.gi.be.TonH1405,whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834belonged to the Philistinesלַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםla.pe.lish.TimH6430,while Nadabוְנָדָב֙ve.na.DavH5070and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478were layingH6696siegeצָרִ֖יםtza.RimH6696to Gibbethonגִּבְּתֽוֹן׃gi.be.TonH1405.

28So Baashaבַעְשָׁ֔אva'.Sha'H1201killedוַיְמִתֵ֣הוּvay.mi.Te.huH4191him in the thirdשָׁלֹ֔שׁsha.LoshH7969yearבִּשְׁנַ֣תbish.NatH8141of Asaלְאָסָ֖אle.'a.Sa'H609kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,and reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427inH8478his placeתַּחְתָּֽיו׃tach.TavH8478.

29And as soon as he wasH4427kingכְמָלְכ֗וֹkhe.ma.le.KhoH4427,he struckH5221andH5221killedH5221allכָּל־kol-H3605the householdבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֔םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379.He did not leaveהִשְׁאִ֧ירhish.'IrH7604Jeroboamלְיָרָבְעָ֖םle.ya.ra.ve.'AmH3379anyכָּל־kol-H3605personsH5397aliveH5397, but kept killinguntilעַד־'ad-H5704he had eliminatedהִשְׁמִד֑וֹhish.mi.DoH8045them,in accordance with the wordכִּדְבַ֣רkid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834He spokeדִּבֶּ֔רdi.BerH1696by His servantעַבְדּ֖וֹav.DoH5650Ahijahאֲחִיָּ֥ה'a.chi.YahH281the Shiloniteהַשִּׁילֹנִֽי׃ha.shi.lo.NiH7888,

30andbecauseעַל־'al-H5921of the sinsחַטֹּ֤אותcha.TotH2403of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָם֙ya.ra.ve.'AmH3379whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834hecommittedחָטָ֔אcha.Ta'H2398, and intowhichוַאֲשֶׁ֥רva.'a.SherH834he misledהֶחֱטִ֖יאhe.che.Ti'H2398Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478,because of his provocationבְּכַעְס֕וֹbe.kha'.SoH3708with whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834he provokedH3707the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֥י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478toH3707angerהִכְעִ֔יסhikh.'IsH3707.
