21And it came to pass, when Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֔אba'.Sha'H1201heardכִּשְׁמֹ֣עַkish.Mo.a'H8085thereof,that he left offוַיֶּחְדַּ֕לvai.yech.DalH2308buildingמִבְּנ֖וֹתmi.be.NotH1129of Ramahהָֽרָמָ֑הha.ra.MahH7414,and dweltוַיֵּ֖שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427in Tirzahבְּתִרְצָֽה׃be.tir.TzahH8656.

22Then kingוְהַמֶּ֨לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֜א'a.Sa'H609made a proclamationהִשְׁמִ֤יעַhish.Mi.a'H8085throughout all Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063; none wasexemptedנָקִ֔יna.KiH5355:and they tookוַיִּשְׂא֞וּvai.yis.'UH5375away the stonesאַבְנֵ֤י'av.NeiH68of Ramahהָֽרָמָה֙ha.ra.MahH7414,and the timberעֵצֶ֔יהָ'e.Tzei.haH6086thereof, wherewith Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֑אba'.Sha'H1201had buildedבָּנָ֖הba.NahH1129;and kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Asaאָסָ֔א'a.Sa'H609builtוַיִּ֤בֶןvai.Yi.venH1129with them Gebaגֶּ֥בַעGe.va'H1387of Benjaminבִּנְיָמִ֖ןbin.ya.MinH1144,and Mizpahהַמִּצְפָּֽה׃ha.mitz.PahH4709.

23The restוְיֶ֣תֶרve.Ye.terH3499of all the actsדִּבְרֵֽי־div.rei-H1697of Asaאָ֠סָא'A.sa'H609,and all his mightגְּב֨וּרָת֜וֹge.Vu.ra.ToH1369,and all that he didעָשָׂ֗ה'a.SahH6213,and the citiesוְהֶֽעָרִים֙ve.he.'a.RimH5892which he builtבָּנָ֔הba.NahH1129, arethey not writtenכְתוּבִ֗יםkhe.tu.VimH3789in the bookסֵ֛פֶרSe.ferH5612of the chroniclesדִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖יםdiv.Rei hai.ya.MimH3117 H1697of the kingsלְמַלְכֵ֣יle.mal.KheiH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063?Nevertheless in the timeלְעֵ֣תle.'EtH6256of his old ageזִקְנָת֔וֹzik.na.ToH2209he was diseasedחָלָ֖הcha.LahH2470in his feetרַגְלָֽיו׃rag.LavH7272.

24And Asaאָסָא֙'a.Sa'H609sleptוַיִּשְׁכַּ֤בvai.yish.KavH7901with his fathersאֲבֹתָ֔יו'a.vo.TavH1,and was buriedוַיִּקָּבֵר֙vai.yi.ka.VerH6912with his fathersאֲבֹתָ֔יו'a.vo.TavH1in the cityבְּעִ֖ירbe.'IrH5892of Davidדָּוִ֣דda.VidH1732his fatherאָבִ֑יו'a.VivH1:and Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֥טye.ho.sha.FatH3092his sonבְּנ֖וֹbe.NoH1121reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427in his stead.

25And Nadabוְנָדָ֣בve.na.DavH5070the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֗םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379began to reignמָלַךְ֙ma.laKhH4427over Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478in the secondH8147yearבִּשְׁנַ֣תbish.NatH8141of Asaלְאָסָ֖אle.'a.Sa'H609kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,and reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֥ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427over Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478twoשְׁתַּ֔יִםshe.Ta.yimH8147yearsשְׁנָתָֽיִם׃she.na.Ta.yimH8141.

26And he didוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213evilהָרַ֖עha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,and walkedH3212in the wayבְּדֶ֣רֶךְbe.De.rekhH1870of his fatherאָבִ֔יו'a.VivH1,and in his sinוּ֨בְחַטָּאת֔וֹu.ve.cha.ta.ToH2403wherewith he made Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478to sinהֶחֱטִ֖יאhe.che.Ti'H2398.

27And Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֤אba'.Sha'H1201the sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Ahijahאֲחִיָּה֙'a.chi.YahH281,of the houseלְבֵ֣יתle.VeitH1004of Issacharיִשָּׂשכָ֔רyi.so.sh.KharH3485,conspiredוַיִּקְשֹׁ֨רvai.yik.ShorH7194against him; and Baashaבַעְשָׁ֔אva'.Sha'H1201smoteוַיַּכֵּ֣הוּvai.ya.Ke.huH5221him at Gibbethonבְּגִבְּת֖וֹןbe.gi.be.TonH1405, which belongedto the Philistinesלַפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑יםla.pe.lish.TimH6430;for Nadabוְנָדָב֙ve.na.DavH5070and all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478laid siegeצָרִ֖יםtza.RimH6696to Gibbethonגִּבְּתֽוֹן׃gi.be.TonH1405.

28Even in the thirdשָׁלֹ֔שׁsha.LoshH7969yearבִּשְׁנַ֣תbish.NatH8141of Asaלְאָסָ֖אle.'a.Sa'H609kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063did Baashaבַעְשָׁ֔אva'.Sha'H1201slayוַיְמִתֵ֣הוּvay.mi.Te.huH4191him, and reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427in his stead.

29And it came to pass, when he reignedכְמָלְכ֗וֹkhe.ma.le.KhoH4427, thathe smoteהִכָּה֙hi.KahH5221all the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֔םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379;he leftהִשְׁאִ֧ירhish.'IrH7604not to Jeroboamלְיָרָבְעָ֖םle.ya.ra.ve.'AmH3379any that breathedנְשָׁמָ֛הne.sha.MahH5397,until he had destroyedהִשְׁמִד֑וֹhish.mi.DoH8045him, according unto the sayingכִּדְבַ֣רkid.VarH1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,which he spakeדִּבֶּ֔רdi.BerH1696byבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027his servantעַבְדּ֖וֹav.DoH5650Ahijahאֲחִיָּ֥ה'a.chi.YahH281the Shiloniteהַשִּׁילֹנִֽי׃ha.shi.lo.NiH7888:
