Numbers 16:17-40

17EachH376 of you takeH3947 his firepanH4289 and putH5414 incenseH7004 on 1it, and eachH376 of you bringH7126 his censerH4289 beforeH6440 the LordH3068, two hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572 firepansH4289; also you and AaronH175 shall eachH376 bring his firepanH4289.” 18So they eachH376 tookH3947 his own censerH4289 and putH5414 fireH784 on 2it, and laidH7760 incenseH7004 on 3it; and they stoodH5975 at the doorwayH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150, with MosesH4872 and AaronH175. 19Thus KorahH7141 assembledH6950 allH3605 the congregationH5712 againstH5921 them at the doorwayH6607 of the tentH168 of meetingH4150. And 4the gloryH3519 of the LordH3068 appearedH7200 to allH3605 the congregationH5712.

20Then the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872 and AaronH175, sayingH559, 21“5SeparateH914 yourselves from amongH8432 thisH2088 congregationH5712, 6that I may consumeH3615 them instantlyH7281.” 22But they fellH5307 on their facesH6440 and saidH559, “O GodH410, 7GodH430 of the spiritsH7307 of allH3605 fleshH1320, 8when oneH259 manH376 sinsH2398, will You be angryH7107 with the entireH3605 congregationH5712?”

23Then the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, 24“SpeakH1696 to the congregationH5712, sayingH559, ‘9GetH5927 backH5927 from aroundH5439 the dwellingsH4908 of KorahH7141, DathanH1885 and AbiramH48.’”

25Then MosesH4872 aroseH6965 and wentH1980 to DathanH1885 and AbiramH48, with the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478 followingH1980H310 him, 26and he spokeH1696 to the congregationH5712, sayingH559, “10DepartH5493 nowH4994 from the tentsH168 of theseH428 wickedH7563 menH376, and touchH5060 nothingH408H3605 that belongs to them, 11orH6435 you will be sweptH5595 awayH5595 in allH3605 their sinH2403.” 27So they gotH5927 backH5927 from aroundH5439 the dwellingsH4908 of KorahH7141, DathanH1885 and AbiramH48; and DathanH1885 and AbiramH48 cameH3318 out and stoodH5324 at the doorwayH6607 of their tentsH168, along with their wivesH802 and 12their sonsH1121 and their littleH2945 onesH2945. 28MosesH4872 saidH559, “By thisH2088 you shall knowH3045 that 13the LordH3068 has sentH7971 me to doH6213 allH3605 theseH428 deedsH4639; for this is not 14my doingH4480H3820. 29IfH518 theseH428 menH428 dieH4191 15the deathH4194 of allH3605 menH120 or 16if they sufferH6485 the 17fateH6486 of allH3605 menH120, then the LordH3068 has not sentH7971 me. 30But 18ifH518 the LordH3068 19bringsH1254 aboutH1254 an entirelyH1278 newH1278 thingH1278 and the groundH127 opensH6475 its mouthH6310 and swallowsH1104 them up with allH3605 that is theirsH1992, and they 20descendH3381 aliveH2416 into 21SheolH7585, then you will understandH3045 that theseH428 menH376 have spurnedH5006 the LordH3068.”

31As he finishedH3615 speakingH1696 allH3605 theseH428 wordsH1697, the groundH127 that was underH8478 them splitH1234 openH1234; 32and 22the earthH776 openedH6605 its mouthH6310 and swallowedH1104 them up, and their householdsH1004, and 23allH3605 the menH120 whoH834 belonged to KorahH7141 with their possessionsH7399. 33So they and allH3605 that belonged to them wentH3381 downH3381 aliveH2416 to 24SheolH7585; and the earthH776 closedH3680 overH5921 them, and they perishedH6 from the midstH8432 of the assemblyH6951. 34AllH3605 IsraelH3478 whoH834 were aroundH5439 them fledH5127 at their 25outcryH6963, for they saidH559, “The earthH776 may swallowH1104 us up!” 3526FireH784 also cameH3318 forthH3318 from the LordH3068 and consumedH398 the 27two hundredH3967 and fiftyH2572 menH376 who were offeringH7126 the incenseH7004.

3628Then the LordH3068 spokeH1696 to MosesH4872, sayingH559, 37“SayH559 to EleazarH499, the sonH1121 of AaronH175 the priestH3548, that he shall takeH7311 up the censersH4289 out of the midstH996 of the 29blazeH8316, for they are holyH6942; and you scatterH2219 the 30burningH784 coalsH784 abroadH1973. 38As for the censersH4289 of theseH428 31menH2400H5315 whoH2400 have sinnedH2400 at the cost of their livesH5315, let them be madeH6213 into hammeredH7555 sheetsH6341 for a platingH6826 of the altarH4196, sinceH3588 they did presentH7126 them beforeH6440 the LordH3068 and they are holyH6942; and 32they shall be for a signH226 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478.” 39So EleazarH499 the priestH3548 tookH3947 the bronzeH5178 censersH4289 whichH834 the men who were burnedH8313 had offeredH7126, and they hammeredH7554 them out as a platingH6826 for the altarH4196, 40as a 33reminderH2146 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 that 34noH3808 35laymanH2114 whoH834 is not of the 36descendantsH2233 of AaronH175 should comeH7126 nearH7126 37to burnH6999 incenseH7004 beforeH6440 the LordH3068; so that he will not becomeH1961 like KorahH7141 and his companyH5712--justH3512 as the LordH3068 had spokenH1696 to him 38throughH3027 MosesH4872.
