Jeremiah 5:19-31
19It shall comeH1961 about 1whenH3588 2they sayH559, ‘WhyH8478H4100 has the LordH3068 our GodH430 doneH6213 allH3605 theseH428 thingsH428 to us?’ then you shall sayH559 to them, ‘As you have forsakenH5800 Me and servedH5647 foreignH5236 godsH430 in your landH776, soH3651 you will 3serveH5647 strangersH2114 in a landH776 that is not yours.’
20“DeclareH5046 thisH2088 in the houseH1004 of JacobH3290 And proclaimH8085 it in JudahH3063, sayingH559,21‘NowH4994 hearH8085 thisH2088, O foolishH5530 and 4senselessH369H3820 peopleH5971, Who have 5eyesH5869 but do not seeH7200; Who have earsH241 but do not hearH8085.22Do you not 6fearH3372 Me?’ declaresH5002 the LordH3068. ‘Do you not trembleH2342 in My presenceH6440? For I have 7placedH7760 the sandH2344 as a boundaryH1366 for the seaH3220, An eternalH5769 decreeH2706, so it cannotH3808 crossH5674 overH5674 it. Though the wavesH1530 tossH1607, yet they cannotH3808 prevailH3201; Though they roarH1993, yet they cannotH3808 crossH5674 overH5674 it.23But thisH2088 peopleH5971 hasH1961 a 8stubbornH5637 and rebelliousH4784 heartH3820; They have turnedH5493 asideH5493 and departedH1980.24They do not sayH559 in their heartH3824, “Let us nowH4994 fearH3372 the LordH3068 our GodH430, Who 9givesH5414 rainH1653 in its seasonH6256, Both 10the autumnH3138 rainH3138 and the springH4456 rainH4456, Who keepsH8104 for us The 11appointedH2708 weeksH7620 of the harvestH7105.”25Your 12iniquitiesH5771 have turnedH5186 theseH428 awayH5186, And your sinsH2403 have withheldH4513 goodH2896 from you.26For wickedH7563 menH7563 are foundH4672 among My peopleH5971, They 13watchH7789 like fowlersH3353 14lyingH7918 in waitH7918; They setH7843 a trapH4889, They catchH3920 menH376.27Like a cageH3619 fullH4392 of birdsH5775, SoH3651 their housesH1004 are fullH4392 of 15deceitH4820; ThereforeH5921H3651 they have becomeH1431 greatH1431 and richH6238.28They are 16fatH8080, they are sleekH6245, They alsoH1571 17excelH5674 in deedsH1697 of wickednessH7451; They do not pleadH1777 the causeH1779, The causeH1779 of the 1819orphanH3490, that they may prosperH6743; And they do not 20defendH8199 the rightsH4941 of the poorH34.2921Shall I not punishH6485 22theseH428 people?’ declaresH5002 the LordH3068, ‘On a nationH1471 suchH834 as thisH2088 Shall I not avengeH5358 MyselfH5315?’
30“An appallingH8047 and 23horribleH8186 thingH8186 Has happenedH1961 in the landH776:31The 24prophetsH5030 prophesyH5012 falselyH8267, And the priestsH3548 ruleH7287 25on their own authorityH3027; And My peopleH5971 26loveH157 it soH3651! But whatH4100 will you doH6213 at the endH319 of it?
