Jeremiah 11:9-23

9Then the LordH3068 saidH559 to me, “A 1conspiracyH7195 has been foundH4672 among the menH376 of JudahH3063 and among the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389. 10They have 2turnedH7725 backH7725 to the iniquitiesH5771 of their 3ancestorsH7223 whoH834 4refusedH3985 to hearH8085 My wordsH1697, and they 5have goneH1980 afterH310 otherH312 godsH430 to serveH5647 them; the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 and the houseH1004 of JudahH3063 have 6brokenH6565 My covenantH1285 whichH834 I madeH3772 with their fathersH1.” 11ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, “BeholdH2009 I am 7bringingH935 disasterH7463 on them whichH834 they will 8not be ableH3201 to escapeH3318; though they will 9cryH2199 to Me, yet I will not listenH8085 to them. 12Then the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 and the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389 will 10goH1980 and cryH2199 to the godsH430 to whomH834 they burnH6999 incenseH6999, but they surelyH3467 will not saveH3467 them in the timeH6256 of their disasterH7463. 13For your godsH430 are 1112as manyH4557 as your citiesH5892, O JudahH3063; and 13as manyH4557 as the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389 are the altarsH4196 you have setH7760 up to the 14shamefulH1322 thingH1322, altarsH4196 to 15burnH6999 incenseH6999 to BaalH1168.

14“Therefore 16do not prayH6419 for thisH2088 peopleH5971, norH408 liftH5375 up a cryH7440 or prayerH8605 for them; for I will 17not listenH8085 whenH6256 they callH7121 to Me becauseH1157 of their disasterH7463.15WhatH4100 right has My 18belovedH3039 in My houseH1004 WhenH3588 19she has doneH6213 manyH7227 vileH4209 deedsH4209? Can the sacrificialH6944 fleshH1320 takeH5674 awayH5674 from you your disasterH7463, 20SoH227 that you can rejoiceH5937?”16The LordH3068 calledH7121 your nameH8034, “A 21greenH7488 oliveH2132 treeH2132, beautifulH3303 in fruitH6529 and formH8389”; With the 22noiseH6963 of a greatH1419 tumultH1999 He has 23kindledH3341 fireH784 on it, And its branchesH1808 are worthlessH7489. 17The LordH3068 of hostsH6635, who 24plantedH5193 you, has 25pronouncedH1696 evilH7463 againstH5921 you becauseH1558 of the evilH7463 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 and of the houseH1004 of JudahH3063, whichH834 they have 26doneH6213 to provokeH3707 Me by 2728offeringH6999 up sacrificesH6999 to BaalH1168.

18Moreover, the LordH3068 29madeH3045 it knownH3045 to me and I knewH3045 it; ThenH227 You showedH7200 me their deedsH4611.19But I was like a gentleH441 30lambH3532 ledH2986 to the slaughterH2873; And I did not knowH3045 that they had 31devisedH2803 plotsH4284 againstH5921 me, saying, “Let us destroyH7843 the treeH6086 with its 32fruitH3899, And 33let us cutH3772 him offH3772 from the 34landH776 of the livingH2416, That his 35nameH8034 be rememberedH2142 noH3808 moreH5750.”20But, O LordH3068 of hostsH6635, who 36judgesH8199 righteouslyH6664, Who 37triesH974 the 38feelingsH3629 and the heartH3820, Let me seeH7200 Your vengeanceH5360 on them, For to You have I 39committedH1540 my causeH7379.

21ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 concerningH5921 the menH376 of 40AnathothH6068, who 41seekH1245 your lifeH5315, sayingH559, “42Do not prophesyH5012 in the nameH8034 of the LordH3068, soH3808 that you will not 43dieH4191 at our handH3027”; 22thereforeH3651, thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635, “BeholdH2009, I am about to 44punishH6485 them! The 45youngH970 menH970 will dieH4191 by the swordH2719, their sonsH1121 and daughtersH1323 will dieH4191 by famineH7458; 23and a remnantH7611 46will not be leftH1961 to them, for I will 47bringH935 disasterH7463 on the menH376 of AnathothH6068--48the yearH8141 of their punishmentH6486.”
