2 Kings 19:14-28
14Then 1HezekiahH2396 tookH3947 the 2letterH5612 from the handH3027 of the messengersH4397 and readH7121 it, and he wentH5927 up to the houseH1004 of the LordH3068 and 3spreadH6566 it out beforeH6440 the LordH3068. 15HezekiahH2396 prayedH6419 beforeH6440 the LordH3068 and saidH559, “O LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, 4who are 5enthronedH3427 above the cherubimH3742, 6You are the GodH430, You aloneH905, of allH3605 the kingdomsH4467 of the earthH776. You have madeH6213 heavenH8064 and earthH776. 167InclineH5186 Your earH241, O LordH3068, and hearH8085; 8openH6491 Your eyesH5869, O LordH3068, and seeH7200; and listenH8085 to the wordsH1697 of SennacheribH5576, whichH834 he has sentH7971 9to reproachH2778 the livingH2416 GodH430. 17TrulyH551, O LordH3068, the kingsH4428 of AssyriaH804 have devastatedH2717 the nationsH1471 and their landsH776 18and have castH5414 their godsH430 into the fireH784, 10for they were not godsH430 but the workH4639 of men’sH120 handsH3027, woodH6086 and stoneH68. So they have destroyedH6 them. 19NowH6258, O LordH3068 our GodH430, I prayH4994, deliverH3467 us from his handH3027 11that allH3605 the kingdomsH4467 of the earthH776 may knowH3045 that You aloneH905, O 12LordH3068, are GodH430.”
20Then IsaiahH3470 the sonH1121 of AmozH531 sentH7971 to HezekiahH2396 sayingH559, “ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, ‘BecauseH834 you have prayedH6419 to Me aboutH413 SennacheribH5576 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, 13I have heardH8085 you.’ 21ThisH2088 is the wordH1697 that the LordH3068 has spokenH1696 againstH5921 him: ‘She has despisedH959 you and mockedH3932 you, 14The virginH1330 daughterH1323 of ZionH6726; She 15has shakenH5128 her headH7218 behindH310 you, The daughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389!22WhomH4310 have you 16reproachedH2778 and 17blasphemedH1442? And againstH5921 whomH4310 have you raisedH7311 your voiceH6963, And 18haughtilyH4791 liftedH5375 up your eyesH5869? AgainstH5921 the 19HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478!2320ThroughH3027 your messengersH4397 you have reproachedH2778 the LordH136, And you have saidH559, “With my manyH7230 chariotsH7393 I cameH5927 up to the heightsH4791 of the mountainsH2022, To the remotestH3411 partsH3411 of LebanonH3844; And I 21cutH3772 downH3772 its tallH6967 cedarsH730 and its choiceH4004 cypressesH1265. And I 22enteredH935 its farthestH7093 lodgingH4411 placeH4411, its 23thickestH3759 forestH3293.24I dugH6979 wells and drankH8354 foreignH2114 watersH4325, And with the soleH3709 of my feetH6471 I 2425driedH2717 up AllH3605 the riversH2975 of 26EgyptH4693.”
25‘27Have you not heardH8085? LongH7350 agoH7350 I didH6213 it; From ancientH6924 timesH3117H6924 I plannedH3335 it. 28NowH6258 I have broughtH935 it to passH935, That you should turnH1961H7582 fortifiedH1219 citiesH5892 into ruinousH5327 heapsH1530.26Therefore their inhabitantsH3427 were shortH7116 of strengthH3027, They were dismayedH2865 and putH954 to shameH954; They were 29as the vegetationH6212 of the fieldH7704 and as the greenH3419 herbH1877, As grassH2682 on the housetopsH1406 is scorchedH7711 beforeH6440 it is grownH7054 up.27But 30I knowH3045 your sittingH3427 downH3427, And your goingH3318 out and your comingH935 in, And your ragingH7264 againstH413 Me.28BecauseH3282 of your ragingH7264 againstH413 Me, And because your 31arroganceH7600 has comeH5927 up to My earsH241, Therefore I 32will putH7760 My hookH2397 in your noseH639, And My bridleH4964 in your lipsH8193, And 33I will turnH7725 you backH7725 by the wayH1870 whichH834 you cameH935.
