30The donkeyהָאָת֜וֹןha.'a.TonH860saidוַתֹּ֨אמֶרva.To.merH559to Balaamבִּלְעָ֗םbil.'AmH1109, “Am I not your donkeyאֲתֹֽנְךָ֜'a.to.ne.KhaH860on whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you have riddenרָכַ֣בְתָּra.Khav.taH7392allH4480 H5750your lifeH5750to thisהַזֶּ֔הha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֣וֹםhai.YomH3117?Have I everהַֽהַסְכֵּ֣ןha.has.KenH5532been accustomedהִסְכַּ֔נְתִּיhis.Kan.tiH5532to doלַעֲשׂ֥וֹתla.'a.SotH6213soכֹּ֑הKohH3541to you?” And he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “NoH3808.”

31Then the Lordיְהוָה֮Yah.wehH3068openedוַיְגַ֣לvay.GalH1540the eyesעֵינֵ֣י'ei.NeiH5869of Balaamבִלְעָם֒vil.'AmH1109,and he sawוַיַּ֞רְאvai.Yar'H7200the angelמַלְאַ֤ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068standingנִצָּ֣בni.TzavH5324in the wayH1870with his drawnשְׁלֻפָ֖הshe.lu.FahH8025swordוְחַרְבּ֥וֹve.char.BoH2719in his handבְּיָד֑וֹbe.ya.DoH3027;and he bowedוַיִּקֹּ֥דvai.yi.KodH6915all the wayH1870to the groundלְאַפָּֽיו׃le.'a.PavH639.

32The angelמַלְאַ֣ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Whyעַל־ מָ֗ה'al- MahH5921 H4100have you struckהִכִּ֙יתָ֙hi.Ki.taH5221your donkeyאֲתֹ֣נְךָ֔'a.To.ne.khaH860theseזֶ֖הzehH2088threeשָׁל֣וֹשׁsha.Lo.oshH7969timesרְגָלִ֑יםre.ga.LimH7272?Beholdהִנֵּ֤הhi.NehH2009,I have comeיָצָ֣אתִיya.Tza.tiH3318out as an adversaryלְשָׂטָ֔ןle.sa.TanH7854,becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588your wayהַדֶּ֖רֶךְha.De.rekhH1870wascontraryיָרַ֥טya.RatH3399to me.

33But the donkeyהָֽאָת֔וֹןha.'a.TonH860sawוַתִּרְאַ֙נִי֙va.tir.'A.niH7200me and turnedH5186asideוַתֵּ֣טva.TetH5186from me theseזֶ֖הzehH2088threeשָׁלֹ֣שׁsha.LoshH7969timesרְגָלִ֑יםre.ga.LimH7272.Ifאוּלַי֙'u.LaiH194she had not turnedH5186asideנָטְתָ֣הna.te.TahH5186from me, I would surelyכִּ֥יkiH3588have killedהָרַ֖גְתִּיha.Rag.tiH2026you just nowעַתָּ֛ה'a.TahH6258,and let her liveהֶחֱיֵֽיתִי׃he.che.Yei.tiH2421.”

34Balaamבִּלְעָ֜םbil.'AmH1109saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the angelמַלְאַ֤ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068, “I have sinnedחָטָ֔אתִיcha.Ta.tiH2398,for I did not knowיָדַ֔עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045that you were standingנִצָּ֥בni.TzavH5324in the wayבַּדָּ֑רֶךְba.Da.rekhH1870againstלִקְרָאתִ֖יlik.ra.TiH7122me. Nowוְעַתָּ֛הve.'a.TahH6258then, ifאִם־'im-H518it is displeasingרַ֥עra'H7489to you, I will turnאָשׁ֥וּבָה'a.Shu.vahH7725backH7725.”

35But the angelמַלְאַ֨ךְmal.'AkhH4397of the Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559to Balaamבִּלְעָ֗םbil.'AmH1109, “Goלֵ֚ךְlekhH1980with the menH376, butyou shall speakאֲדַבֵּ֥ר'a.da.BerH1696onlyוְאֶ֗פֶסve.'E.fesH657the wordהַדָּבָ֛רha.da.VarH1697whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Itellתְדַבֵּ֑רte.da.BerH1696you.” So Balaamבִּלְעָ֖םbil.'AmH1109wentוַיֵּ֥לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980along with the leadersשָׂרֵ֥יsa.ReiH8269of Balakבָלָֽק׃va.LakH1111.

36When Balakבָּלָ֖קba.LakH1111heardוַיִּשְׁמַ֥עvai.yish.Ma'H8085that Balaamבִלְעָ֑םvil.'AmH1109was comingבָ֣אva'H935,he wentוַיֵּצֵ֨אvai.ye.Tze'H3318out to meetלִקְרָאת֜וֹlik.ra.ToH7122him at the cityעִ֣יר'irH5892of Moabמוֹאָ֗בmo.'AvH4124,whichH834is on the Arnonאַרְנֹ֔ן'ar.NonH769borderגְּב֣וּלge.VulH1366,at the extremeH7097endבִּקְצֵ֥הbik.TzehH7097of the borderהַגְּבֽוּל׃ha.ge.VulH1366.

37Then Balakבָּלָ֜קba.LakH1111saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Balaamבִּלְעָ֗םbil.'AmH1109, “Did I not urgentlyשָׁלֹ֨חַsha.Lo.achH7971sendשָׁלַ֤חְתִּיsha.Lach.tiH7971to you to callלִקְרֹא־lik.ro'-H7121you? Whyלָ֥מָּהLa.mahH4100did you not comeהָלַ֖כְתָּha.Lakh.taH1980to me? Am I reallyהַֽאֻמְנָ֔םha.'um.NamH552unableאוּכַ֖ל'u.KhalH3808 H3201to honorכַּבְּדֶֽךָ׃ka.be.De.khaH3513you?”

38So Balaamבִּלְעָ֜םbil.'AmH1109saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Balakבָּלָ֗קba.LakH1111, “Beholdהִֽנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009,I have comeבָ֙אתִי֙va.tiH935nowעַתָּ֕ה'a.TahH6258to you!Am I ableH3201to speakדַּבֵּ֣רda.BerH1696anythingמְא֑וּמָהme.'U.mahH3972at all? The wordהַדָּבָ֗רha.da.VarH1697that Godאֱלֹהִ֛ים'E.lo.HimH430putsיָשִׂ֧יםya.SimH7760in my mouthבְּפִ֖יbe.FiH6310,that I shall speakאֲדַבֵּֽר׃'a.da.BerH1696.”

39And Balaamבִּלְעָ֖םbil.'AmH1109wentוַיֵּ֥לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980with Balakבָּלָ֑קba.LakH1111,and they cameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to Kiriath-huzothH7155.

40Balakבָּלָ֖קba.LakH1111sacrificedוַיִּזְבַּ֥חvai.yiz.BachH2076oxenבָּקָ֣רba.KarH1241and sheepוָצֹ֑אןva.TzonH6629,and sentוַיְשַׁלַּ֣חvay.sha.LachH7971someto Balaamלְבִלְעָ֔םle.vil.'AmH1109and the leadersוְלַשָּׂרִ֖יםve.la.sa.RimH8269whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834were with him.

41Then it cameוַיְהִ֣יvay.HiH1961about in the morningבַבֹּ֔קֶרva.Bo.kerH1242that Balakבָּלָק֙ba.LakH1111tookוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947Balaamבִּלְעָ֔םbil.'AmH1109and broughtוַֽיַּעֲלֵ֖הוּvai.ya.'a.Le.huH5927him up tothe highH1116placesH1116of Baalבָּ֑עַלBa.'alH1168,and he sawוַיַּ֥רְאvai.Yar'H7200from thereמִשָּׁ֖םmi.ShamH8033aportionקְצֵ֥הke.TzehH7097of the peopleהָעָֽם׃ha.'AmH5971.
