39So the flocksהַצֹּ֖אןha.TzonH6629matedH2552by the rodsהַמַּקְל֑וֹתha.mak.LotH4731,and the flocksהַצֹּ֔אןha.TzonH6629broughtH3205forthH3205stripedעֲקֻדִּ֥ים'a.ku.DimH6124,speckledנְקֻדִּ֖יםne.ku.DimH5348,and spottedוּטְלֻאִֽים׃u.te.lu.'ImH2921.

40Jacobיַעֲקֹב֒ya.'a.KoH3290separatedהִפְרִ֣ידhif.RidH6504the lambsוְהַכְּשָׂבִים֮ve.ha.ke.sa.VimH3775, andmadeוַ֠יִּתֵּןVai.yi.tenH5414the flocksהַצֹּ֧אןha.TzonH6629faceפְּנֵ֨יpe.NeiH6440towardאֶל־'el-H413the stripedעָקֹ֛ד'a.KodH6124and allוְכָל־ve.kholH3605the blackח֖וּםchumH2345in the flockבְּצֹ֣אןbe.TzonH6629of Labanלָבָ֑ןla.VanH3837;and he putוַיָּֽשֶׁת־vai.ya.shet-H7896his own herdsעֲדָרִים֙'a.da.RimH5739apartלְבַדּ֔וֹle.va.DoH905,and did not putשָׁתָ֖םsha.TamH7896them with Laban’sלָבָֽן׃la.VanH3837flockצֹ֥אןtzonH6629.

41Moreover, wheneverבְּכָל־be.kholH3605thestrongerהַמְקֻשָּׁרוֹת֒ham.ku.sha.roTH7194of the flockהַצֹּ֣אןha.TzonH6629were matingיַחֵם֮ya.ChemH3179,Jacobיַעֲקֹ֧בya.'a.KoH3290would placeוְשָׂ֨םve.SamH7760the rodsהַמַּקְל֛וֹתha.mak.LotH4731in the sightלְעֵינֵ֥יle.'ei.NeiH5869of the flockהַצֹּ֖אןha.TzonH6629in the guttersבָּרֳהָטִ֑יםbo.ro.ha.TimH7298, so that they mightmateלְיַחְמֵ֖נָּהle.yach.Me.nahH3179by the rodsבַּמַּקְלֽוֹת׃ba.mak.LotH4731;

42but when the flockהַצֹּ֖אןha.TzonH6629was feebleוּבְהַעֲטִ֥יףu.ve.ha.'a.TifH5848,he did not putיָשִׂ֑יםya.SimH7760themin; so the feeblerהָעֲטֻפִים֙ha.'a.tu.FimH5848were Laban’sלְלָבָ֔ןle.la.VanH3837and thestrongerוְהַקְּשֻׁרִ֖יםve.ha.ke.shu.RimH7194Jacob’sלְיַעֲקֹֽב׃le.ya.'a.KoH3290.
