1Now when RachelH7354sawוַתֵּ֣רֶאva.Te.re'H7200thatshe boreיָֽלְדָה֙yal.DahH3205Jacobלְיַעֲקֹ֔בle.ya.'a.KoH3290noלֹ֤אlo'H3808children,she becameH7065jealousוַתְּקַנֵּ֥אva.te.ka.Ne'H7065of her sisterבַּאֲחֹתָ֑הּba.'a.cho.TahH269;and she saidוַתֹּ֤אמֶרva.To.merH559to Jacobיַעֲקֹב֙ya.'a.KoH3290, “Giveהָֽבָה־ha.vah-H3051me childrenבָנִ֔יםva.NimH1121,or elseוְאִם־ אַ֖יִןve.'im- 'A.yinH518 H369I dieמֵתָ֥הme.TahH4191.”

2Then Jacob’sיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290angerאַ֥ף'afH639burnedוַיִּֽחַר־vai.yi.char-H2734against Rachelבְּרָחֵ֑לbe.ra.ChelH7354,and he saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Am I in the placeהֲתַ֤חַתha.Ta.chatH8478of Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430,whoאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834haswithheldמָנַ֥עma.Na'H4513from you the fruitפְּרִי־pe.ri-H6529of the wombבָֽטֶן׃Va.tenH990?”

3She saidוַתֹּ֕אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Hereהִנֵּ֛הhi.NehH2009is my maidאֲמָתִ֥י'a.ma.TiH519Bilhahבִלְהָ֖הvil.HahH1090,goבֹּ֣אbo'H935in to her that she maybearוְתֵלֵד֙ve.te.LedH3205on my kneesבִּרְכַּ֔יbir.KaiH1290, thatthroughמִמֶּֽנָּה׃mi.Me.nahH4480her I tooגַם־gam-H1571may haveH1129childrenH1129.”

4Soshe gaveוַתִּתֶּן־va.ti.ten-H5414him her maidשִׁפְחָתָ֖הּshif.cha.TahH8198Bilhahבִּלְהָ֥הbil.HahH1090as a wifeלְאִשָּׁ֑הle.'i.ShahH802,and Jacobיַעֲקֹֽב׃ya.'a.KoH3290wentוַיָּבֹ֥אvai.ya.Vo'H935in to her.

5Bilhahבִּלְהָ֔הbil.HahH1090conceivedוַתַּ֣הַרva.Ta.harH2029and boreוַתֵּ֥לֶדva.Te.ledH3205Jacobלְיַעֲקֹ֖בle.ya.'a.KoH3290a sonבֵּֽן׃BenH1121.

6Then Rachelרָחֵל֙ra.ChelH7354saidוַתֹּ֤אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430hasvindicatedדָּנַ֣נִּיda.Na.niH1777me, and has indeedוְגַם֙ve.GamH1571heardשָׁמַ֣עsha.Ma'H8085my voiceבְּקֹלִ֔יbe.ko.LiH6963and has givenוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414me a sonבֵּ֑ןBenH1121.”Thereforeעַל־ כֵּ֛ן'al- kenH5921 H3651she namedקָרְאָ֥הka.re.'AhH7121himDanדָּֽן׃DanH1835.

7Rachel’sרָחֵ֑לra.ChelH7354maidשִׁפְחַ֣תshif.ChatH8198Bilhahבִּלְהָ֖הbil.HahH1090conceivedוַתַּ֣הַרva.Ta.harH2029againע֔וֹדodH5750and boreוַתֵּ֕לֶדva.Te.ledH3205Jacobלְיַעֲקֹֽב׃le.ya.'a.KoH3290a secondשֵׁנִ֖יshe.NiH8145sonבֵּ֥ןbenH1121.

8So Rachelרָחֵ֗לra.ChelH7354saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Withmightyאֱלֹהִ֧ים׀'E.lo.HimH430wrestlingsנַפְתּוּלֵ֨יnaf.tu.LeiH5319I havewrestledנִפְתַּ֛לְתִּיnif.Tal.tiH6617with my sisterאֲחֹתִ֖י'a.cho.TiH269, andI have indeedגַּם־gam-H1571prevailedיָכֹ֑לְתִּיya.Kho.le.tiH3201.”And she namedוַתִּקְרָ֥אva.tik.Ra'H7121him Naphtaliנַפְתָּלִֽי׃naf.ta.LiH5321.

9When Leahלֵאָ֔הle.'AhH3812sawוַתֵּ֣רֶאva.Te.re'H7200that she had stoppedעָמְדָ֖ה'a.me.DahH5975bearingמִלֶּ֑דֶתmi.Le.detH3205,she tookוַתִּקַּח֙va.ti.KachH3947her maidשִׁפְחָתָ֔הּshif.cha.TahH8198Zilpahזִלְפָּ֣הzil.PahH2153and gaveוַתִּתֵּ֥ןva.ti.TenH5414her to Jacobלְיַעֲקֹ֖בle.ya.'a.KoH3290as a wifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

10Leah’sלֵאָ֖הle.'AhH3812maidשִׁפְחַ֥תshif.ChatH8198Zilpahזִלְפָּ֛הzil.PahH2153boreוַתֵּ֗לֶדva.Te.ledH3205Jacobלְיַעֲקֹ֥בle.ya.'a.KoH3290a sonבֵּֽן׃BenH1121.

11Then Leahלֵאָ֖הle.'AhH3812saidוַתֹּ֥אמֶרva.To.merH559, “How fortunateבָּ֣אגָ֑דbe.be.//gadgadH1409!”So she namedוַתִּקְרָ֥אva.tik.Ra'H7121himGadגָּֽד׃GadH1410.

12Leah’sלֵאָ֔הle.'AhH3812maidשִׁפְחַ֣תshif.ChatH8198Zilpahזִלְפָּה֙zil.PahH2153boreוַתֵּ֗לֶדva.Te.ledH3205Jacobלְיַעֲקֹֽב׃le.ya.'a.KoH3290a secondשֵׁנִ֖יshe.NiH8145sonבֵּ֥ןbenH1121.

13Then Leahלֵאָ֔הle.'AhH3812saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Happyבְּאָשְׁרִ֕יbe.'a.she.RiH837am I! For womenבָּנ֑וֹתba.NotH1323will callוַתִּקְרָ֥אva.tik.Ra'H7121me happyאִשְּׁר֖וּנִי'i.she.Ru.niH833.”So she namedH7121himAsherאָשֵֽׁר׃'a.SherH836.

14Now in the daysבִּימֵ֣יbi.MeiH3117of wheatחִטִּ֗יםchi.TimH2406harvestקְצִיר־ke.tzir-H7105Reubenרְאוּבֵ֜ןre.'u.VenH7205wentוַיֵּ֨לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980and foundוַיִּמְצָ֤אvai.yim.Tza'H4672mandrakesדֽוּדָאִים֙du.da.'ImH1736in the fieldבַּשָּׂדֶ֔הba.sa.DehH7704,and broughtוַיָּבֵ֣אvai.ya.Ve'H935them to his motherאִמּ֑וֹ'i.MoH517Leahלֵאָ֖הle.'AhH3812.Then Rachelרָחֵל֙ra.ChelH7354saidוַתֹּ֤אמֶרva.To.merH559to Leahלֵאָ֔הle.'AhH3812, “Pleaseנָ֣אna'H4994giveתְּנִי־te.ni-H5414me someH4480of your son’sבְּנֵֽךְ׃be.NekhH1121mandrakesמִדּוּדָאֵ֖יmi.du.da.'EiH1736.”

15But she saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559to her, “Is it a smallהַמְעַט֙ham.'AtH4592matterH4592for you to takeקַחְתֵּ֣ךְkach.TekhH3947my husbandאִישִׁ֔י'i.ShiH376?And would you takeוְלָקַ֕חַתve.la.Ka.chatH3947my son’sבְּנִ֑יbe.NiH1121mandrakesדּוּדָאֵ֖יdu.da.'EiH1736alsoגַּ֥םgamH1571?”So Rachelרָחֵ֗לra.ChelH7354saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Thereforeלָכֵן֙la.KhenH3651he may lieיִשְׁכַּ֤בyish.KavH7901with you tonightהַלַּ֔יְלָהha.Lay.lahH3915in returnתַּ֖חַתTa.chatH8478for your son’sבְנֵֽךְ׃ve.NekhH1121mandrakesדּוּדָאֵ֥יdu.da.'EiH1736.”

16When Jacobיַעֲקֹ֣בya.'a.KoH3290cameוַיָּבֹ֨אvai.ya.Vo'H935in from the fieldהַשָּׂדֶה֮ha.sa.DehH7704in the eveningבָּעֶרֶב֒ba.'e.RevH6153,then Leahלֵאָ֜הle.'AhH3812wentוַתֵּצֵ֨אva.te.Tze'H3318out to meetלִקְרָאת֗וֹlik.ra.ToH7122him and saidוַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙va.To.merH559, “You must comeתָּב֔וֹאta.Vo'H935in to me, for I have surelyשָׂכֹ֣רsa.KhorH7936hiredשְׂכַרְתִּ֔יךָse.khar.Ti.khaH7936you with my son’sבְּנִ֑יbe.NiH1121mandrakesבְּדוּדָאֵ֖יbe.du.da.'EiH1736.”So he layוַיִּשְׁכַּ֥בvai.yish.KavH7901with her that nightבַּלַּ֥יְלָהba.Lay.lahH3915.

17Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430gaveH8085heedH8085to Leahלֵאָ֑הle.'AhH3812,and she conceivedוַתַּ֛הַרva.Ta.harH2029and boreוַתֵּ֥לֶדva.Te.ledH3205Jacobלְיַעֲקֹ֖בle.ya.'a.KoH3290a fifthחֲמִישִֽׁי׃cha.mi.ShiH2549sonבֵּ֥ןbenH1121.

18Then Leahלֵאָ֗הle.'AhH3812saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430has givenנָתַ֤ןna.TanH5414me mywagesשְׂכָרִ֔יse.kha.RiH7939becauseאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I gaveנָתַ֥תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414my maidשִׁפְחָתִ֖יshif.cha.TiH8198to my husbandלְאִישִׁ֑יle.'i.ShiH376.”So she namedוַתִּקְרָ֥אva.tik.Ra'H7121him Issacharיִשָּׂשכָֽר׃yi.so.sh.KharH3485.

19Leahלֵאָ֔הle.'AhH3812conceivedוַתַּ֤הַרva.Ta.harH2029againעוֹד֙'OdH5750and boreוַתֵּ֥לֶדva.Te.ledH3205a sixthשִׁשִּׁ֖יshi.ShiH8345sonבֵּן־ben-H1121to Jacobלְּיַעֲקֹֽב׃le.ya.'a.KoH3290.

20Then Leahלֵאָ֗הle.'AhH3812saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Godאֱלֹהִ֥ים׀'E.lo.HimH430has endowedזְבָדַ֨נִיze.va.Da.niH2064me with a goodטוֹב֒tOvH2896giftזֵ֣בֶדZe.vedH2065;nowהַפַּ֙עַם֙ha.Pa.'amH6471my husbandאִישִׁ֔י'i.ShiH376will dwellיִזְבְּלֵ֣נִיyiz.be.Le.niH2082with me, becauseכִּֽי־ki-H3588I have borneיָלַ֥דְתִּיya.Lad.tiH3205him sixשִׁשָּׁ֣הshi.ShahH8337sonsבָנִ֑יםva.NimH1121.”So she namedוַתִּקְרָ֥אva.tik.Ra'H7121him Zebulunזְבֻלֽוּן׃ze.vu.LunH2074.

21Afterwardוְאַחַ֖רve.'a.CharH310she boreיָ֣לְדָהYal.dahH3205a daughterבַּ֑תBatH1323and namedוַתִּקְרָ֥א שְׁמָ֖הּva.tik.Ra' she.MahH7121 H8034her Dinahדִּינָֽה׃di.NahH1783.

22ThenGodאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430rememberedוַיִּזְכֹּ֥רvai.yiz.KorH2142Rachelרָחֵ֑לra.ChelH7354,and Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430gaveH8085heedH8085to her andopenedוַיִּפְתַּ֖חvai.yif.TachH6605her wombרַחְמָֽהּ׃rach.MahH7358.

23So she conceivedוַתַּ֖הַרva.Ta.harH2029and boreוַתֵּ֣לֶדva.Te.ledH3205a sonבֵּ֑ןBenH1121and saidוַתֹּ֕אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430hastakenH622awayH622my reproachחֶרְפָּתִֽי׃cher.pa.TiH2781.”
