9While he was stillעוֹדֶ֖נּוּo.De.nuH5750speakingמְדַבֵּ֣רme.da.BerH1696with them, Rachelוְרָחֵ֣ל׀ve.ra.ChelH7354cameבָּ֗אָהBa.'ahH935with her father’sלְאָבִ֔יהָle.'a.Vi.haH1sheepהַצֹּאן֙ha.tzoNH6629,for she was a shepherdessרֹעָ֖הro.'AhH7462.

11Then Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290kissedוַיִּשַּׁ֥קvai.yi.ShakH5401Rachelלְרָחֵ֑לle.ra.ChelH7354,and liftedוַיִּשָּׂ֥אvai.yi.Sa'H5375his voiceקֹל֖וֹko.LoH6963and weptוַיֵּֽבְךְּ׃vai.Ye.vekH1058.

12Jacobיַעֲקֹ֜בya.'a.KoH3290toldוַיַּגֵּ֨דvai.ya.GedH5046Rachelלְרָחֵ֗לle.ra.ChelH7354that he was arelativeאֲחִ֤י'a.ChiH251of her fatherאָבִ֙יהָ֙'a.Vi.haH1and that he was Rebekah’sרִבְקָ֖הriv.KahH7259sonבֶן־ven-H1121, andshe ranוַתָּ֖רָץva.Ta.rotzH7323and toldוַתַּגֵּ֥דva.ta.GedH5046her fatherלְאָבִֽיהָ׃le.'a.Vi.haH1.

13So whenLabanלָבָ֜ןla.VanH3837heardכִשְׁמֹ֨עַkhish.Mo.a'H8085the newsשֵׁ֣מַע׀She.ma'H8088of Jacobיַעֲקֹ֣בya.'a.KoH3290his sister’sאֲחֹת֗וֹ'a.cho.ToH269sonבֶּן־ben-H1121,he ranוַיָּ֤רָץvai.Ya.rotzH7323to meetלִקְרָאתוֹ֙lik.ra.ToH7122him, andembracedוַיְחַבֶּק־vay.cha.bek-H2263him and kissedוַיְנַשֶּׁק־vay.na.shek-H5401him and broughtוַיְבִיאֵ֖הוּvay.vi.'E.huH935him to his houseבֵּית֑וֹbei.ToH1004.Then he relatedוַיְסַפֵּ֣רvay.sa.PerH5608to Labanלְלָבָ֔ןle.la.VanH3837allכָּל־kol-H3605theseהָאֵֽלֶּה׃ha.'E.lehH428thingsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697.

14Labanלָבָ֔ןla.VanH3837saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Surelyאַ֛ךְ'akhH389you aremy boneעַצְמִ֥י'atz.MiH6106and my fleshוּבְשָׂרִ֖יu.ve.sa.RiH1320.”And he stayedוַיֵּ֥שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427with him a monthחֹ֥דֶשׁCho.deshH2320.

15Then Labanלָבָן֙la.VanH3837saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Jacobלְיַעֲקֹ֔בle.ya.'a.KoH3290, “Becauseהֲכִי־ha.khi-H3588you are myrelativeאָחִ֣י'a.ChiH251,should you therefore serveוַעֲבַדְתַּ֖נִיva.'a.vad.Ta.niH5647me for nothingחִנָּ֑םchi.NamH2600?Tellהַגִּ֥ידָהha.Gi.dahH5046me, whatמַה־mah-H4100shallyour wagesמַּשְׂכֻּרְתֶּֽךָ׃mas.kur.Te.khaH4909be?”

16Now Labanוּלְלָבָ֖ןu.le.la.VanH3837had twoשְׁתֵּ֣יshe.TeiH8147daughtersבָנ֑וֹתva.NotH1323;the nameשֵׁ֤םshemH8034of the olderהַגְּדֹלָה֙ha.ge.do.LahH1419was Leahלֵאָ֔הle.'AhH3812,and the nameוְשֵׁ֥םve.ShemH8034of the youngerהַקְּטַנָּ֖הha.ke.ta.NahH6996was Rachelרָחֵֽל׃ra.ChelH7354.

17And Leah’sלֵאָ֖הle.'AhH3812eyesוְעֵינֵ֥יve.'ei.NeiH5869were weakרַכּ֑וֹתra.KotH7390,but Rachelוְרָחֵל֙ve.ra.ChelH7354wasbeautifulH3303of formתֹּ֖אַרTo.'arH8389andfaceמַרְאֶֽה׃mar.'EhH4758.

18Now Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290lovedוַיֶּאֱהַ֥בvai.ye.'e.HavH157Rachelרָחֵ֑לra.ChelH7354,so he saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “I will serveאֶֽעֱבָדְךָ֙'e.'e.va.de.KhaH5647you sevenשֶׁ֣בַעShe.va'H7651yearsשָׁנִ֔יםsha.NimH8141for your youngerהַקְּטַנָּֽה׃ha.ke.ta.NahH6996daughterבִּתְּךָ֖bi.te.KhaH1323Rachelבְּרָחֵ֥לbe.ra.ChelH7354.”

19Labanלָבָ֗ןla.VanH3837saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “It is betterט֤וֹבTovH2896that I giveתִּתִּ֣יti.TiH5414her to you thanH4480to giveמִתִּתִּ֥יmi.ti.TiH5414her to anotherאַחֵ֑ר'a.CherH312manלְאִ֣ישׁle.'IshH376;stayשְׁבָ֖הshe.VahH3427with me.”

20So Jacobיַעֲקֹ֛בya.'a.KoH3290servedוַיַּעֲבֹ֧דvai.ya.'a.VodH5647sevenשֶׁ֣בַעShe.va'H7651yearsשָׁנִ֑יםsha.NimH8141for Rachelבְּרָחֵ֖לbe.ra.ChelH7354and they seemedוַיִּהְי֤וּ בְעֵינָיו֙vai.yih.Yu ve.'ei.NavH1961 H5869to him but a fewאֲחָדִ֔ים'a.cha.DimH259daysכְּיָמִ֣יםke.ya.MimH3117because of his loveבְּאַהֲבָת֖וֹbe.'a.ha.va.ToH160for her.

21Then Jacobיַעֲקֹ֤בya.'a.KoH3290saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Labanלָבָן֙la.VanH3837, “Giveהָבָ֣הha.VahH3051memy wifeאִשְׁתִּ֔י'ish.TiH802, for mytimeיָמָ֑יya.MaiH3117is completedמָלְא֖וּmal.'UH4390, that I maygoוְאָב֖וֹאָהve.'a.Vo.'ahH935in to her.”

22Labanלָבָ֛ןla.VanH3837gatheredוַיֶּאֱסֹ֥ףvai.ye.'e.SofH622allכָּל־kol-H3605the menH376of the placeהַמָּק֖וֹםha.ma.KomH4725and madeוַיַּ֥עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213a feastמִשְׁתֶּֽה׃mish.TehH4960.

23Now in the eveningבָעֶ֔רֶבva.'E.revH6153he tookוַיִּקַּח֙vai.yi.KachH3947his daughterבִתּ֔וֹvi.ToH1323Leahלֵאָ֣הle.'AhH3812,and broughtוַיָּבֵ֥אvai.ya.Ve'H935her to him; and Jacobwentוַיָּבֹ֖אvai.ya.Vo'H935in to her.

24Labanלָבָן֙la.VanH3837also gaveוַיִּתֵּ֤ןvai.yi.TenH5414his maidשִׁפְחָת֑וֹshif.cha.ToH8198Zilpahזִלְפָּ֖הzil.PahH2153to his daughterבִתּ֖וֹvi.ToH1323Leahלְלֵאָ֥הle.le.'AhH3812as a maidשִׁפְחָֽה׃shif.ChahH8198.

25So it cameוַיְהִ֣יvay.HiH1961about in the morningבַבֹּ֔קֶרva.Bo.kerH1242that, beholdוְהִנֵּה־ve.hi.neh-H2009,it was Leahלֵאָ֑הle.'AhH3812!And he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Labanלָבָ֗ןla.VanH3837, “Whatמַה־mah-H4100is thisH2088you have doneעָשִׂ֣יתָ'a.Si.taH6213to me? Was it not for Rachelבְרָחֵל֙ve.ra.ChelH7354that I servedעָבַ֣דְתִּי'a.Vad.tiH5647with you? Whyוְלָ֖מָּהve.La.mahH4100then have youdeceivedרִמִּיתָֽנִי׃ri.mi.Ta.niH7411me?”

26But Labanלָבָ֔ןla.VanH3837saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “It is notthe practiceיֵעָשֶׂ֥ה כֵ֖ןye.'a.Seh khenH6213 H3651in our placeבִּמְקוֹמֵ֑נוּbim.ko.Me.nuH4725tomarryH5414offH5414the youngerהַצְּעִירָ֖הha.tze.'i.RahH6810beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the firstbornהַבְּכִירָֽה׃ha.be.khi.RahH1067.

27Completeמַלֵּ֖אma.Le'H4390the weekשְׁבֻ֣עַshe.Vu.a'H7620of thisH2088oneH2088,and we will giveוְנִתְּנָ֨הve.ni.te.NahH5414you the otherH2088alsoגַּם־gam-H1571for the serviceבַּעֲבֹדָה֙ba.'a.vo.DahH5656whichאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834you shall serveתַּעֲבֹ֣דta.'a.VodH5647with me for anotherאֲחֵרֽוֹת׃'a.che.RotH312sevenשֶֽׁבַע־she.va'-H7651yearsשָׁנִ֥יםsha.NimH8141.”

28Jacobיַעֲקֹב֙ya.'a.KoH3290didוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213soכֵּ֔ןKenH3651and completedוַיְמַלֵּ֖אvay.ma.Le'H4390her weekשְׁבֻ֣עַshe.Vu.a'H7620,and he gaveוַיִּתֶּן־vai.yi.ten-H5414him his daughterבִּתּ֖וֹbi.ToH1323Rachelרָחֵ֥לra.ChelH7354as his wifeלְאִשָּֽׁה׃le.'i.ShahH802.

29Labanלָבָן֙la.VanH3837also gaveוַיִּתֵּ֤ןvai.yi.TenH5414his maidשִׁפְחָת֑וֹshif.cha.ToH8198Bilhahבִּלְהָ֖הbil.HahH1090to his daughterבִּתּ֔וֹbi.ToH1323Rachelלְרָחֵ֣לle.ra.ChelH7354as her maidלְשִׁפְחָֽה׃le.shif.ChahH8198.
